Unless you are a major marketer, i still believe most are just used to hide the illegal means of wealth.
They make their money from contracts acquired from the fuel business contacts.

Politicians who are certain of victory hardly attend debates. It's just a waste of time as far as they are concerned.

Tonye Cole and some other aspirants have been challenging Fubara to a debate. They have all been ignored.

This is majorly true and why OBJ Jonathan Buhari all avoided debates at some points

If Man Utd is leading West Ham by 3-0, then they don't have any incentive to attack or get into contest. Man utd is content to sit back and watch the game play out

Tinubu/APC kicking Adeleke out now might just work against them in the presidential elections, cause Adeleke knowing he'd def be facing the exit if Tinubu wins will give him even more motivation to ensure Atiku does well in Osun.

Anybody who believes cbn deadline for expiration of new notes actually affects politicians is not in touch with reality.
I spoke with my mom this morning, and she told me about how she and my dad have been bypassing this shit to get new notes which people claim to be scarce. If they can be doing that, there's no reason for me to believe tinubu, atiku and others haven't done much more.
Asiwaju already has billions of the new notes with him, forget the recent public wailing, he's just doing that to make people think the policy is affecting him. If folks like Tinubu and Atiku want 50 billion of the new notes today, they'll get it.

Cbn and Buhari are just deceiving themselves. They should extend this stuff indefinitely until all old notes are mopped up because this policy isn't affecting the people they are planning to punish.

Collecting few thousands or millions in cash like your mum and dad is way different from collecting tens or hundreds of billions like Asiwaju would need to do

By now, Asiwaju should have parked some billions in each state ready for election day, but they are frustrating him.

Some of the scarcity sef will be due to politicians getting banks to hold on to their election needs

I trust Asiwaju, he will still find a way

Emefiele term expires in June right? Nigga will need a long holiday in St Kitts and Nevis after this where he cannot be found

One good thing about Naija politicians is though they can kill you in the present moment to achieve their immediate goals, they barely keep grudge once a matter has passed. That's why Sanusi is moving freely today despite moving with armed guards and bulletproof during the banking crisis of 2009

I pity Nigerians especially Obidients that think new notes would stop vote buying. Do you think top politicians bank with your regular branches in Ikotun? grin

Tinubu that had a whole bullion van entering his house is the one that won’t see new notes if he wants to? Same new notes he was pictured giving a man less than a week after it was rolled out abi another one?

One of the most intriguing sights of money I have seen was at the central vault of a bank in VI. It looked like those vaults in money heist movies. The vault was cold like where turkey dey. I had entered tens of vaults, but nothing prepared me for such a display of money. They stacked money up to 10ft high and were using a ladder to bring dollars down. We were there moping and wishing we could disappear with one bundle of even if na N1000 notes when about three Hilux trucks drove in with PAs and army officials. They gave a letter to one staff with a withdrawal slip. Next thing they started loading different denominations, all mint. They put them inside that khaki bag for cash movement and locked it up. Once they were done, they zoomed off. This took less than 30 minutes because they were already arranging it before they came.

It was later I heard it was for politicians.

These people steal so much that if you work in a bank branch that services “local” politicians, some thieving staff would pray their money is given to politicians during this election season. This is because they have taken out 2 notes from every packet of N1000. They don’t count money one one o. They only bundle count, load it and zoom off.

Cash is just one means of buying votes. Votes can be bought with 1l power oil and 3kg of rice.

I have no issue with the new notes, but it is not the solution to electoral malpractice in Nigeria. Or do we keep changing notes every 4 - 8 years?

we can all remember how money was moved by zenith bank for Fayose in 2013/2014

the bank chiefs are also carefully looking beyond buhari to ensure they are not in the bad books of whichever administration comes next

The person who made the post u quoted is oblivious of a lot of things . Time and tide has changed. The CBN in its press release claimed they’ve brought in 1.9 trillion that was previously hanging out of the banking system since October 2022 when the whole naira redesign was announced .

Where did he think the 1.9 trillion came from ? Ur goes is as good as mine . The op should go to the non Ikotun, Okokomaiko, Igbo elerin branches of his favorite bank and confirm to us now if he still sees mint new notes in millions like he claimed he did of the old notes .

The thing is CBN knows how much notes they printed , how much they’ve released and how much of it they have not made available to banks . And by the way , these banks file reports per some transactions above certain threshold , they do periodic reports etc. Some of these reports are just insurance for the banks when a politician they service runs into problem with the government of the day . U won’t see EFCC or CBN hassling these banks and their CEO’s until their political customers run into problem with losers that be and they will deploy every rule o the book to deal with the bank if they are found wanting not to have filed all necessary reports .

Just like other posters have pointed out here , it will be more difficult to get enough cash to prosecute an election on a national scale due to change of naira notes. Not like it’s not possible , but it will be more tasking and would involve u getting as many of ur political associates who have access to cash to call in favors for u all over the country .

Atiku or Tinubu wins and they are contesting in 4yrs for a 2nd term. Will the then CBN governor be able to deny them cash needed or they will change money again?
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Bimffo(m): 5:32am On Jan 30, 2023
Buhari is that particular friend you will always pray to avoid.

The same method that brought him in twice, is the same method he is fighting against. He even brought trader moni (a form of vote buying) for his re-election.

Vote buying is very very bad, but if someone should be fighting against it, it shouldn't be Buhari. It reeks of hypocrisy.

Obviously not; the CBN governor will always align his policies with the thoughts of the president( at least in this part of the world as we’ve seen ) , and the moment he chooses to start from it he becomes personae non grata .

The reason u keep seeing Emefiele’s pictures each time he meets Buhari is to pass a subtle message that Buhari the president is sold in on his idea of naira redesign.

Someone mentioned how Fayose had cash moved from Zenith bank to Ekiti for him to prosecute his 2nd term election back then; I mean like the minister for defense for state Obanikoro supervised the transfer of cash for a PDP candidate to prosecute election ….. that’s what Tinubu thought Buhari should be doing for him and not this silent coup of changing naira design just to turn his stored cash to rubbles .

Whoever wins this chess game , we gather dey to observe as e go be . If we survived Buhari’s 2 terms listening to bullshiiit explanations and gas lighting , we go survive either Atiku or Tinubu if they become the president ; but we know nothing will change .

Omo, na armed robbers dey run filling stations for that south south o. The highest I’ve seen on a meter in Lagos is 315 naira per liter and these filling stations where there are no single queue . U just drive in, buy and leave with no hassles. It’s places where the price ranges from 185, 220 and 280 that u see queues in different sizes ( depending on what price they are selling )

It's like a heavy weight champion who refuse to fight his challenger because he is certain of victory? That's stupid.

Besides which politician is certain of victory? Which politician will claim he is not certain of victory?

The main reason they refuse debates because they are not confident of themselves and is to avoid being exposed. It's so simple.

Debates gives you an opportunity to stake a claim that you are better than your opponent.
