spiritualmubi: I hope this entry is not too late Sometimes one's dream might not come to pass early as we might think, but that is not to say you are not destined by God to take such path. If Medicine is what you want, go for it without looking for any excuses I know people have a first degree already but are now studying Medicine, likes of Tonye001. I know some who got admitted during their final year. I got admitted into medical school in my 300 level. So forget the fact that Medicine is not coming forth now because you are not destined for it. |

Froshchuksswart: It's not really a matter of the MBBS/BDS degree being worth it or not. It is a matter of passion, conviction and fulfillment. 1 Like |

Froshchuksswart: The person may have a fundamental problem that is making them fail again and again. Even average students scale through med school, with hard work. He needs to reevaluate. Maybe poor study technique/ habit(s), poor comprehension, poor exam preparation, poor networking with his colleagues and tutors, etc. Finally, he may find fulfillment elsewhere. For instance, Chimamanda Adichie quit medical school at some point to pursue other interests. Medicine is not a do-or-die affair. You can read our tips on how to scale through medical school. https://porpulace.com.ng/mbbs-in-nigeria |

Froshchuksswart: It's definitely worth it if that's what you want for yourself. Please do not compare yourself with anyone. I remember when I used to worry about main MB exams too. I used to see people I look up to then, fail and resit/repeat/get withdrawn. It made me feel inadequate. My bestie then, told me to think again because she wouldn't want me to fail out too. I entered med school with that fear. Las Las by God's grace I made a distinction. Since then, I've learnt to stay on my lane and do what is working for me. Don't let it bother you that people are failing. You are "you" and they are "them". Just make sure you find out why people are failing and work on yourself. 1 Like |

Froshchuksswart: In my opinion, the first step to take after failing shouldn't be retrying. It should be figuring out why you failed in the first place. Nothing big about failing. We've all experienced failure at one point or the other. In time, the bitter experiences we gathered through a phase of failure will all be hidden in our past, what will be left of it will be the lessons we picked from failing. 1 Like |

Does it really worth it, this is my second UTMEs attempt to getting medicine and surgery after all the struggles, tutoring, massive reading, studying extensively and burning mid night candle yet MBBS is not forthcoming despite the frequent energy and commitment i ignited in my previous UTME preparation. This is extremely painful mehn, i am just deppresed right now. I pray this year will definitely be a turn up for me to share my testimony. |

SF123: Have you registered? What method do you employ whilst reading for utme? |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by MrEgghead(m): 3:51pm On Jan 30, 2023 |
SF123:Don't give up. Many of us here have toured the same path and it's now all history. Medicine is the most competitive course to get, so it's understandable if it doesn't come in handy. There are many less competitive institutions you can always pick. Maybe you just need to start making wise and smart decisions. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by SF123(m): 4:17pm On Jan 30, 2023 |
Homosapiens20x:Yes boss, i have registered. Pertaining to my reading schedule i normally go to the public library in my locality, i have a timetable which i drafted out each subject per day although i started early in my preparation. I will read a particular topic, make sure i covered the topic in my main textbook then after that i will use my lamlard and explicit series to study that particular topic specifically. I have a mindset of underlining every salient points i encountered, i have a jotter on my side where i jotted each unknown points down. After studying through out the day i will revise/memorise/recite what i studied to know actually if it sticts without looking at the textbook. On visiting the library the following day, i had to revise what i studied on the previous day before diving into another subject and topic respectively (my study time is 7-9 hours daily) not yet on past question 2 Likes |

SF123:Study past questions!!! Study all the years along side your textbooks, do this like 3 or more times before your exam. Again study your past questions, get yourself jamb remix and drop lamlad only use it to get clarification when you don't understand something and that is only for chemistry. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Homosapiens20x: 5:20pm On Jan 30, 2023 |
SF123: Study your past questions instead. Passing jamb is not all about reading big textbooks voraciously. Study your pq from year 2000 till date. Why read textbooks you have been reading since two years ago? You already know those topics but you are not conversant with the patterns and styles those questions are being asked. Textbooks should be your guide whilst studying your pq. When i say study i dont mean cramming answers verbatim. Whilst studying your pq any question you fail you go back to your textbooks and read up on that. If you continue reading textbooks and sidelining the pq i am afraid you might be scoring 250 or less which i believe you wouldnt like such meagre score. |

DarkPheonix:All right chief, i will try my possible best. Although i have not exhausted the syllabus that is why i have not started solving past questions to be precise. Apart from jamb remix series which is extremely scarce in my locality, i also have fat success utme reloaded which is apportion topics by topics; I think the fat success is equivalent to the remix series bc of its enough and extensive explanation of answers. Appreciated chief. |

Also please someone should suggest any less competitive federal or new federal/ state or new state university which i will input as my first choice to be admitted to study medicine easily without undergoing any stress |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by DarkPheonix: 6:51pm On Jan 30, 2023 |
SF123:I don't know anything about fat success but if it is the same thing with jamb remix then okay, the thing is if you can painstakingly study it and understand how they solve all the questions in remix/fat success you would have covered the whole syllabus. |
