It doesn't matter because already you believe that I'm a Nigerian faking it.

So you can even choose a Nigerian tribe for me.
Silentgroper:

What tribe are you from??

Samantha123:
You don't get it, do you? Using your native language on me isn't going to help with anything because already I know that you're a Nigerian.

No need for you to try and prove yourself.

Stop being bitter, I don't know plantains and I'm not gonna be stressing myself simply because you're bitter with me for not knowing them... And I'm not going to bother with knowing them.

You know I can also write something in Sotho with the help of Google translate right ..

What's to say that is not the same thing you did
Re: See The Tiny Catfish I Bought 2000 Naira This Morning. by Nobody: 11:45pm On Jan 30, 2023
Other folks from other countries also eat atchar, even though it's much more popular here in SA, but yet you don't know it.

And do you expect me to know all the food from around the world
Silentgroper:

How on earth is plantain exclusively Nigeria's when other folks from other countries eat it .

It turns the dough bread thing isn't just a south African food but Spanish and French ..

The only difference is the name ..

If you say you guys don't call it plantain down south then it makes sense but saying you've never heard of it or eaten it sounds false..

Well it could just be only you as you don't speak for all South Africans

Already you believe that I'm a Nigerian and I've accepted it.

You can choose whatever tribe you believe I'm from and I'll accept it if it makes you happy.

Now would you kindly tell your tribe and stop stylishly running away from the initial discourse

How come you don't believe me when I say I don't know plantains, yet you don't know the SA food that I just mentioned and I believe you?

Do you expect all Africans to know Nigerian food when you don't know theirs

And what's so special about these plantains that you're forcing me to know them?

We have chakalaka, bunny chow, tripe, vetkoeks, atchar, and pap to mention the few.

The question is where will I get those plantains? Because I don't know of any store that sells them.

I checked out that chakalaka, and it looked really nice. Like something I would enjoy.

How is it usually eaten? By itself or served with something?

By the look of it, it'll go perfect with fried plantains

It goes with basically anything depending on your preferences... It could be bread, rice, spaghetti, pap, samp, or even macaroni.

I mostly like having it with some pap, tomato gravy or some boerewors curry, or even some braai... It's also good with rice.

What do you guys call russians and viennas in your country? They're food too.

Hahah. I know. My Zambian friend had the same reaction when he first saw frying plantains..

'You fry bananas in Nigeria?'

I made egusi soup for him and he loved it. Told home we live in same continent and you have never tasted my food. Yet we both know how croissants and pizzas taste. Lol.

Fried plantains are lovely. Oh, we also have bole (roasted plantain, palm oil, and roasted fish). Lagos people have theirs with groundnut.

Our continent is huge.
Indeed.
