SirKay3:
Arteta named January's PL Manager of the Month

For the third time this season Mikel Arteta has been awarded the Premier League Manager of the Month award, following another fine run of results in January.

The boss has now received the trophy three times out of the four occasions it has been awarded, having also come out on top in August as well as November/December.

January saw us pick up seven points from nine during a tricky run of fixtures, which began with a goalless draw against Newcastle United before we triumphed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by a 2-0 margin.

Then Eddie Nketiah's last-gasp goal sealed a 3-2 win against Manchester United at the Emirates to restore our five-point cushion at the top of the table.

After picking up the trophy once again, the boss reflected on our recent form, saying: "After the World Cup break, you have certain questions - how is the team going to react, are we ready and have we lost that momentum?

"I don't think we did, I think we used that time really well. We were lucky not to have some big problems in that period and the team responded by winning a lot of games.

It's difficult to choose the best moment because we had some big ones, but obviously the game that we won away at Spurs was a key one."

Mikel has now won five Manager of the Month awards during his three years in charge, having previously been victorious in September 2021 and March 2022 before this campaign.

He has become the first Arsenal manager to win the award three times in a single season, which is the first time that has happened in the division since Jurgen Klopp won five in 2019/20.
He's suppose to win the Manager of the year

Why should we cash out on him?

It's not as if we desperately needed him this season
I remember Martinelli passed through same situation. Make we give am till season end.

Lolif xhaka get injure do we have backup?
Giving him extension doesn't mean we should not get another CM
Well, you have a point.
Infact, I think we should get him and offload this Tokunbo asap in the summer if we can also get Rice.

Rice
Partey
Tielemans
Xhaka

He won't if we are getting rice and another midfielder is coming in
Tielemans is 80% unless chelsea hijack it as usual

It is not about getting Rice or any other midfielder, it more of the club's willingness to keep supporting him during the difficult time of his injury. Looks like his injury will outlast his current contract. No club will take him even though he is free but still injured. Arteta himself was a beneficiary of such gesture as a player, I guess that was why he made the statement about the club continual support in difficult time for players that have been excellent when fit. I support that too.

I doubt Arsenal is still interested in Tielemans, Vieira is currently Xhaka's deputy and looks like Xhaka will be extending his contract too. Don't forget, Lokonga is still our player, he might just discover himself at C. Palace.

Vieira is Ode's deputy. ESR was supposed to back Xhaka up but he is injured. Let's sign tielemans for free next summer.

Heard Auba was omitted from Chelsea's UCL squad.

Mesut Ozil asking his club to terminate his contract. He said he is no more playing football again.

He deserves it and more!..If u are too big to serve, then u are too small to lead.

A captain who couldn't even be a good example to the youngings, see where he's landed himself. He should just go and find another sport like Bale and retire to chop his millions in peace.

He shouldn't have left Barca, I guess he came back to England to prove a point to Arsenal, unfortunately for him there came a new Pharaoh Manager that is not his fan, and he didn't shine during the few opportunities he got to play, especially when his team met Arsenal...

Too bad for him, I have a small pity for him, but he did himself.

Not really bro. He didn't come back to Chelsea out of his own free will. Barca had a financial crisis and they needed to offload some players to free up space for their new signings.
It was either Depay or Auba since Lewa was already at the club.
That's how Auba became the scape goat. Funny enough, the same Depay is now at Atletico.

Considering all the things he did for us, he deserves our sympathy at least. This one too much!!

Moving to Barca was a very good decision for him and he would have excelled there this season. He was just unfortunate to come Chelsea because of Tuchel and then meeting all this travails.

After spending almost £600m, only to get outplayed by Fulham at home = Priceless..

Anyway, let's give them more time for the new players to blend and cooked together.

Pity fire! Remember, this is coming from one of Auba’s Stan’s and supporters while he was with us. He deserves every bit of his travails. Auba lost me after the AFCON nonsense!

He has vindicated Arteta in my eyes. He needs to humble himself and accept he is not all that anymore. Maybe a transfer to a tier 2 European club in Germany/ France/ Italy, considering he is on the other end of Father Time.

The manner with which he handled his final season with us was disappointing and left much to be desired.

I have always been Auba’s biggest Stan even when our fans complained aside goals he brings nothing to the team like Lacazette who always wants the ball to his feet and play with the rest of the midfield ; I defended him based on his goal contributions which far surpasses Laca’s .

He’s a player I like personally but he lost all that with his indiscipline issues. Haba! I don’t care about his decision to move to Barca or any other team but he messed up in his final season with us. Thank God for the All or Nothing documentary some of the fans would probably be blaming Arteta till now and alleging he doesn’t like big players like his boss Guardiola; hence why he froze Auba out.

I was livid when I saw how the whole thing played out in that documentary . This guy wasn’t even remorseful and was even throwing shades after leaving us. He deserves every bit of what is happening to him now 100%

I feel Arteta have been vindicated since last season and this season even proved it more that Arteta was certainly in the right and he's in the wrong...

...but still...

I just feel like what he's getting presently isn't really deserving of the last few months he did to us(with respect to what he has served us so far positively). I mean, he didn't even misbehave at Chelsea.

And this is coming from me who isn't really a very big fan of his.

But it's all good sha.... Na Chelsea and their wahala undecided

Palhinha is 27years and it's unfortunate he's of that age cos he would have being my preferred deputy for Partey.

I've been following him this season since their first game against Liverpool and he seems to Impress me in all his matches. I just hope we'll get someone younger and can do almost everything Partey does for smooth transition

Omo I watched Chelsea match yesterday because of new signing, I will not judge Enzo yet because he need a good partner but that amount of money for someone who cant really influence match , He look basic honestly.

As for Mudrky, He remind me of what they said that every thing is not all about money, Mudrky needed Arsenal , Is not Arsenal that need him. Unless Chelsea change there style of game, it will be hard for that dude to blossom.

I ma grateful , Edu did his job the way he did. Nobody should hold us in ransom
