And APC or PDP will soon take over again. Same ol' same ol'.
After reading some Nigerian history in an attempt to wrap my head around Nigerian politics, I've come to the conclusion that.

Nigerian politics is broken from it's very foundation, and it frustrates me to even try to engage with it.
From the fact that we're only a nation because of the British ducking about in the world, and in current times we still don't have an identity.

To the quality of discussions about politics we're having today, I don't even know what the policy or ideological difference between APC and PDP are, it's just tinubu this, atiku that, the politician take us for dundies and they themselves are dundies.
With vague promises without any tangible plan on how to achieve them.

Aughh.. it's all just annoys and frustrates me.

I feel your worries. I don't think there is anything the international community can do as per the fuel scarcity or naira scarcity. Solution is to elect good leaders right from the presidency to the local government councillors.
Thanks. I just don't see an end in sight.

Same here. I have lost count of how many times Atiku has switched political parties. He was once a big wig in APC. Even PO who seems to be gaining popularity among younger Nigerians was just a few years ago Atiku's vice presidential candidate in PDP. The chance of him returning to PDP if he doesn't win the presidential election next month is high.

Nigerian politics is all about self interest.

Did Peter Obi really make the statement below..
If LP wins, you would find thousands of PDP and APC decamping to LP and vice versa.

Look at Lasun - 3 parties in one year!

Colonialism made mess of Nigeria. You're right about no real identity. Still shocked to know that Lagos was named after a city in Portugal.

Something of a unifying narrative/identity can go a long way towards building a better country. Which is what current day Nigeria doesn't have.
A reason secessionism keeps growing I think.

An idea of a Nigeria has to be sold to the people, wiether it's a grand ideas of becoming a real life Wakanda, or something that's just an economic and security union of convenience.

What I learned from Nigerian history is that it wasn't always like that. During and after our struggle for independence.
There existed a sense of nationalism based off an anti colonial and anti imperial sentiment. A drive for self determination, as well as ideas of Pan-Africanism, was present in our political class.
That died out during the series of military coups (and discovery of oil) that came after independence, and left us with a generation of a cynical and power grabbing political class, with no ideas or ideals.

There is nothing like "average Nigerian". You just need look out of a Nigerian window to observe our diversity, and moreso if you travel some.

And wat you are pointing to is a consequence of supply and demand.

Gender roles are a made-up construct used to perpetuate white supremacy is a far right hegemony. To subscribe to these roles only serves to strengthen the patriarchial system which were allowed to proliferate through western imperialism. Gender only exist to give us guidelines to serve under the capitalist chokehold we live in.

And what do you mean by meeting force with greater force? Don't you know that The Force is female?

I'm struggling to make sense of the above.

Gender roles are not " made-up construct", but are the result of 'mummy carries baby, daddy provides protection', and were imposed on the couple, first through desire for one another and to propagate, and because a 9 month pregnant individual could not chase off wolfs.

Did you drink?

This is one of the reasons why diversity is not our strength. A homogenous population can strive to achieve a common goal, while a diverse population will degenerate to infighting (note that I'm not talking about race or ethnicity, I'm talking about culture and values).

Nationalism was our unifying goal during the fight for independence. Once we achieved that, we didn't even last a decade before the civil war.

Pan-Africanism is a pipe-dream when you can't even get different ethnic groups within the same state to stop trying to wipe each other out (e.g., Kaduna). Unless, of course, you decide to go full Genghis Khan and conquer all your neighbours, then go full Stalin and kill all dissenters.

According to a senior Pentagon official, three balloons made it into the US during the Trump years.

Biden first became aware of the balloon on January 28, when it was spotted over Alaska. The US military tracked it over Canadian airspace and as it re-entered US territory on Tuesday.

Fearing the debris could hit 'sensitive' areas as it traveled across the country, officials warned the president not to shoot it down until it was flying over the ocean.

The GOP officials have NOT publicly commented on the revelation that such balloons were encountered during the Trump administration.

SIZE OF CHINESE ‘SPY’ BALLOON EQUALS THREE BUSES – US DEFENSE OFFICIAL.

Pentagon said the balloon, which is confirmed to be from China, isn’t posing any ‘”military or physical” threat to the people living in the US, but, the government cited public safety as the reason for not shooting it down.

Owing to its large size, the debris caused by the balloon and its payload being shot down could cause serious damage to civilians.

ABC 7 News reports, a senior U.S. defense official said the Chinese balloon is as big as three buses. To put this into perspective, a typical city transit bus in America, as per Dimensions and Drawings, is about 12 meters long, 3 meters tall, and 2.5 meters wide.

Meanwhile, the U.S. government has maintained, it has taken necessary measures to prevent the balloon from collecting sensitive information.

We are used to doing things anyhow in Nigeria and the life of humans is worth nothing. You wonder why we have falling power line, planes dropping of the sky, containers crushing people in their own vehicles, hospitals with no drugs, lots of traffic accidents, unknown gunmen, ritual killers and so on. Some expect the US government to shoot down a balloon the size of 3 school buses and let the debris fall on people down below. The people below can die for all they care - A classic Nigerian thought process. Wicked people, wicked nation.

They are all already lining up behind Trump and had to throw him into the mix to give him some credibility. That Florida Maga lite would be wasting his time if he declares. Gladly the Pentagon burst their bubble by speaking out.

Remember when the Pentagon lost $2 trillion?

Context:

Did then-U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld report that $2.3 trillion was missing/lost?

No, that's not true: Rumsfeld gave a speech on September 10, 2001 about the bureaucratic red tape in the U.S. government and his plans to update processes. He remarked that it was difficult to track financial transactions within the current system. He did not say that $2.3 trillion was missing.

Or maybe you were referring to another $2million dollars.

I've pieced together the History from a combination of different video essays.
This two I'd say are the best imo.

And tediously going over the wikipedia pages of the First and Second republic, as well as the individual pages of the people credited for our independence, the subsequent military coups, and the individual heads of state to the present.
