But he was the PDP vice presidential candidate in the last election (with Atiku as his principal)... So what changed?

I'm just trying to counter what the guy said.

Let's always state facts.

What changed?

That's not the discussion here.

My argument is that we must always state facts at all times.

He went on to say that Peter Obi is an opportunist who switched to the LP after losing the PDP primaries.

Too much drinking and smoking marijuana like the druggie is a bad thing.

Does this one even know what's happening in his country? Did Peter Obi ever contest in PDP presidential primaries?

Someone should tell this guy that leadership gives direction and nothing ever works in a country without the right leaders.

Seun may not be entirely correct by saying that Obi lost PDP primary before leaving for the LP.

The fact is that Obi actually didn't feel that he could win the primary election of the PDP. He felt overwhelmed, and had to go to a smaller and less competitive space. Had he stayed put in the PDP and won, by now, he would have generated tons of voltage that would have given the APC series of heart attacks by now. The bigger the party, the bigger the ripple it creates within the political space. This is characteristic in politics.

For me, the decision to not see through his intention to vie for the presidency under the PDP, demonstrated a lack of courage and clear unpreparedness, to tackle Nigeria's problems head-on. You can't be seen to be hiding away from huge problems. This no be governorship matter o.

Whatever resistance Obi saw in the PDP that made him leave cannot be bigger than the resistances he would find, in the event that he emerges as Nigeria's president. Seun is right in this respect.

You can't get overwhelmed by PDP and think you can work through the general elections. No person with extensive knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian politics will take you seriously.

Added to the fact that Obi is a fraud and a monumental failure.

His only selling point is that he's an Igbo man.

So you didn't hear all the things Rinu Oduola said?
Did you hear Igbo man there?

Tribal bigotry kee you der!

Even if it's coz he is Igbo, is it not the time for an Igbo person to lead?
Yoruba, Hausa, South-south, Fulani....no igbo president, no igbo vice.

You sef, tell yourself the truth.
If we are truly united, we will give Igbo presidency a chance...Next will be Middlebelt.

This is a typical yoruba demonic attitude for you.Always have envy whenever they see an igbo man progressing. To me,the only crime Peter Obi has is becos he is an igbo man, that is why you see all these hate speeches, Reno Oromockey Fela and Thiefnubuu touts always display becos they all hate igbos for nothing, and the reaosn they all preferred a dead man walking instead of a healthy successful men with clean records.A lazy foolish tribe full of envy and hatreds becos igbos prosper better than them in their old land.
To me, igbos and yoruba can never be one,

I don't agree with you.

Listen, political parties are vehicles through which politicians lead the people.

Peter Obi noticed that PDP was selling their ticket to the highest bidder and walked away.
It was totally against everything he believes in.

The most important thing now is that his name is on the ballot, which gives Nigerians the opportunity to elect him as their preferred candidate.

Come to think of it: How can Peter Obi be in Papa Deceive Pikin (PDP) and be preaching that a new Nigeria is POssible? The same party that Nigerians said destroyed them for 16 years?

As far as I am concerned, leaving PDP was a very smart decision because he's giving the sane ones among us the opportunity to destroy the structure that has made this country the world's poverty capital and kicked 20 million innocent kids out of school.

Why do we hate the truth so much that we leave the message and attack the messenger

What's new in what Seun Kuti said

The hope of Nigeria, lies in the hands of Nigerians, untill we move away from selfish desire and place the interest of the Nation at heart..

How do you explain all these charges everyone is asking for whenever you want to make transfer into their account for goods bought Are they POS operator or are you withdrawing cash Extra charge just because you patronise their services

At every slightest of opportunity, we are always looking for ways to milk ourselves..untill we change this orientation, no saint can govern Nigeria successfully.

On his second point...in our heart of heart..Can Peter Obi truly wins this 2023 elections How cheesy grin cheesy grin cheesy ..this is just wishful thinking...not in this 2023 elections...if he lose, which he will, and sustain this party for the next 4years...maybe he can try again...but this 2023 elections...it's either Atiku or Tinubu..nothing will change

BluntTheApostle:

Obi is an opportunist in the sense that he is using raving emotions of misinformed youths to gain grounds.

Obi himself knows that the the problem of the country is beyond one man. He once compared Nigeria to a car with a broken engine. Suddenly, Obi thinks he is the driver that can move a car with a broken engine.

Obi knows he is not competent enough to change the country.

What we need is a change of constitution. We need a constitution that would back regional federalism.

We understand why our politicians don't want regionalism. They are scared of secession. They are scared that if governors become more powerful than they already are, they can break away from the country like Ojukwu tried to do in 1966.

But what choices do we have?

Our federalism is not working. Our constitution does not reflect true federalism. We need to sit down, and vote on these things.

dis is exactly what seun is saying here.. He said even if obi is a good man, he doesn't have the structure to rule a successful Government because his party has no senators , no rep , no GOVERNOR .. pls how is he going to rule successfully ? Obi will be there blaming oppositions... and other tribes for his failures..

Fact still remain that is not possible under democracy to have a progressive government with out controlling/ having majority in legislative.....

Seun is right on dis... Obi lack the structures...

Soludo said similar thing that obi knew dis but is just riding on the emotions of suffering nigerians ... So dis bracketed him as an opportunist ridding on emotion of suffering nigerians...

Igbos are bigoted personified... Any body that's not supporting obi to them hate obi or igbo...

Majority of them are naturally hateful beings..

Dey hate the Truth....

If you call Peter Obi a fraud or failure that's fine, a healthy argument could be sustained of which we can agree to disagree... but the moment you entered ethnicity, oga you lost it completely...

nothing else you say can prove your love for Nigeria and Nigerians.

Lol, all these APC guys should just boldly come out and stop being a coward na. SDP, Sowore's party, Abiola's party, and a faction of ADC are all APC people. This we know since. Let e tell you how the game is, the idea is to split the vote of unsatisfied populace hence giving APC the slight upper hand.

Unfortunately, Peter Obi don cast all the market. The man they never saw coming that will retire the likes of Sowore and co, the likes of the social activist. If Nigeria dey work and everybody dey busy, who go dey come out for protest with them? Nobody

So-called Sean Kuti is a typical slowpoke from Nigeria. Most Nigerians in his class are very classless. "Nigerians can save Nigeria", I guess among these Nigerians who can save Nigeria are opportunists too. In addition, the last I checked though, Peter Obi is a Nigerian. Everybody trying to get recognized after smoking weed

Nigeria can only be saved by Nigerians, so Peter Obi is a Cameroonian or Indian?

He decamped after loosing Pdp primaries...are you in Nigeria or is ur head paining you. Obi was never part of that Primaries, he never took part in the Primaries, in fact Obi left Pdp after seeing the handwriting on the wall - Atiku from the North wanted the ticket and he has d money to buy delegates, Wike wants the ticket and also has the money to spend, Obi has no other option than to decamp.

Al that matters here is who will savage this country, decamping or not is never a criteria
