Hello everyone

Please, i have some couple of questions to ask.
My study permit application got approved Dec last year and i am already in Canada for January 2023 intake, 1 year study, my study permit will expired by Nov 30th 2023.

Now i want to apply for my wife and my son, 2months old, he has done his passport capturing since early January, but no passport yet, it's promise upon promise, but i heard that it's possible to submit his visa application and then send passport via webform when it is out, is this possible? Can i book his medical without his passport? The reason i am in hurry is that i have the POF available now, before i use it to pay my second semester, and house rent.

see below my responses based on my experience. I don't think @skull4eva is so active here again..

what is the shortfall on this SOP since we (hubby and kids) are planning to apply for OWP and SP ?? (it depends on your writeup and other documentation. You can get a letter from where she volunteered, carefully word the mother-in-law part (don't paint it like she can't survive without you)

Can we now use spouse's parents, hubby's mother, and land properties as home ties? yes, (you can)

Is medical a must for hubby? if yes (yes)

Is Upfront medical okay since hubby travels a lot and IRCC can send them for medicals while hubby must have returned to work? (yes)

Do children need medical? if yes (not sure about this but I want to believe they do)

Is Upfront medical okay since hubby needs to take them there as well? (yes)

Do children of age (14, 11, and 9) need biometrics? (I believe they do)

GCKey for student or GCKey for hubby, which is preferable? (anyone, your choice)

The big question here is when to apply? Though I have read people apply asap, some after 3 months, while others a year later (you can apply as soon as your spouse gets her study permit)

Please was your application alone on your old account or you had it with your child's application? If with your child, the new account you created when you linked it, did you find your child's application in the new account along with yours?

I have been trying to link my account but showing "not found", my application was cancelled by ircc and was asked to link and really don't know how to resolve this as I have tried every means and links, so please I don't know if your method above can also work for this situation, as I can only see my child's application but mine was cancelled by ircc mistakenly. Please any suggestion because the cancelled application is even showing "action required" as status update but can't access anything. Thanks

Too many questions right here though, so I will just briefly answer you.

The other spouse in Nigeria will apply for a Spousal Open work permit (SOWP) and the kids will apply for an Open Study permit. The bolded should do for Home ties, if any of your also have Businesses or companies, investments e.t.c , you can add that as well.

He can either do Upfront medicals or wait for IRCC to send him a Medical request, both are good to go. SO it depends on your choice but most people go for upfront to kinda avoid delays from IRCC.

Yea, you kids will have to do medicals.

You can't do a GCKEY student profile for him, he isn't applying for a study permit. You should create a Spousal open work permit for him (I will recommend GCKEY).

Lastly, you can apply once you know you are ready to apply, also work with the time the wife's study permit will expire. So its best you apply early enough.

Put 'Not Applicable' for the school name and level. The address should be the parent's school address. Tuition fee as zero. Living expenses can be filled with the minimum required amount.

Well, to the best of my knowledge, skilled migrant should be it. Go with your gut though!

On IMM 5257 b - Schedule 1 Form.

You see on top of the Form the below information:

The principal applicant, his or her spouse..., if applicable, and all dependent children aged 18 years or older listed .....must complete their copy of this Form.

To my little knowledge, this simply means no need to fill it for kids of age 14 and below. Right?

For the Forms to download, i will advise you to start the application and the Forms needed to be filled and uploaded will be seen on your application.
