What does UNCOVERED mean?
Is the money supposed to be in a bakery if not in a bank?
Think
Use your head before reacting?
Did they print the money in the bank?
Dead body uncovered in a grave
Where will they uncover dead body?? police station?

If the CBN had released all the money into the system, the aim will be defeated. I think they should've made a policy from day one to disallow banks from exchanging funds over 10M or so. That would've eased pressure at the commercial banks

The money that banks had, they were prioritizing their big customers (mostly the politicians obviously) which put the ordinary Nigerians at a disadvantage

There was no aim other than mental paranoia ...Buhari did this same stupid thing in the 80 eighties and messed up the economy then and now he is repeating it ... Nothing can stop Tinubu from getting cash if he wants afterall half the cash that change hands in Lagos alone change it on his transport network

I understand your theory, however, funds are not directly in Tinubu's hands, they've been moved to different states for the election. The government wants to track those funds

Tinubu and co know there will be voter apathy from the APC support base, the only way to mobilize people is to buy their votes, essentially.

This goes to show that Nigerians are their own problem. This can never happen under Obi.

Keep hoping. So he would change 200m people overnight? To think that LP doesn't have strong structures at the state level in most cases.

Before you start thinking something else, PO is the only person of the three leading candidates that I would expect any reasonable, sensible, upright, and unselfish person to vote for. I am one, even though that's coming from me. smiley

Seems you're not aware that many banks claim to have no money. Even those who said they have claimed to have like N6 million or less.

I heard a Stanbic IBTC branch manager telling customers last Friday that the branch got only N1 million.

General talk.
What has that got to do specifically with this episode
We do not know whether this branch has claimed NOT to have new notes. Or do you have information we don't have?

It is foolish to say things one does not know without facts

Na Americans Obi go rule over? The earlier we know that the leadership in Nigeria is a reflection of her followership, the better for all of us.

when did cbn announce this? October 26th. Why didnt Nigeria rush to beat the deadline since then? Buhari, cbn, banks and nigerians are to blame.

Enlightenment by the CBN seemed to be poor. Also, people were declining the currency.

Also, why weren't the bank disbursing it to depositiors since then?

If all withdrawals from ATMs were in new notes, since October, this problem wouldn't have arisen.

The CBN did not do a good job.

Has anything Buhari done shows he cares about his policies or NIGERIANs? This whole thing is based on no logic other than a Buhari paranoia that started in the 80s where he is always imagining people where hoarding Niara ...tell me with the way Buhari has bastardized the naira why would anyone want to hoard his wealth in Naira...Y'all be careful with this Buhari because you seem not to know who you are dealing with ..tbe reason for this might even be something entirely different..

I ASK ONCE AGAIN. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF A HOUSE DIVIDED AGAINST ITSELF WITH BOTH THE IMPLICATION AND IMPORT OF IT?

What does it benefit President Buhari to embark on the Naira change crunch?

Let us have this discuss if you would. Hopefully, you will be both reasonable and logical and not waste my ample time.

"reason for this might even be something entirely different..[/quote]"

LET US HAVE YOUR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE REASONS, PLEASE.

I only wrote what I have heard and experienced. You didn't need to sound insulting and condescending.

All banks I have been to wouldn't have the sort of difficulty I witnessed if any of them had this sort of money and made it available. I mean they were paying no more than N20,000 (that high in only one instance and supposedly) and as low as N1,000. Yet, it didn't take long before the money got exhausted.

This is not to say that I stand with the CBN - not a fan. I am only saying multiple parties, including banks (as in this case), market people and POS agents, are complicit.

If you feel insulted work on your self esteem no one can "condescend" you without your cooperation
On topic, be factual ,leave sentiment aside.
I did not address my remarks to you. You quoted me and I responded.
If you are too fragile then stay on your lane

I see that you're better ignored.

How old are you? It's childish to get insulting without being insulted. I hope you get to learn that someday. Peace.
