Name-calling and profiling

When politicians are stereotypical of an individual or a political group, their agenda mostly promotes an awful perception of their opponents to arouse public rejection. In most cases, these politicians use simple terminologies to label or give a negative description of an individual or group.

On January 7, 2023, for instance, Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), described Atiku Abukar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as “Mr Sell Everything” and called Peter Obi of the Labour Party “Mr Stingy”

“My people, you cannot entrust your future or that of our nation to Mr Sell Everything, Atiku, or Mr Stingy, Obi,” Mr Tinubu said during APC’s rally in Ondo State. And in the same pattern but positively, he described himself as “Mr Progressive Good Governance Tinubu”, asking Nigerians to trust him.

Propagandists often use this method to dodge fact-based opinions on public issues to tame and name their opponents so the public can see them in a bad light.

I've been on ProductHunt hunting down products and tech startups built around AI. Especially since January 15.

Currently, 4 good startups have been launched on it focused on infusing ChatGPT as customer support and virtual assistant, and even CAAS - Copywriting As A Service.

One of them is even built with Headless WP. That's how fluid it is. I've signed up for the waiting list of some and watching closely. By this weekend, 3 more would launched in the coming soon section.

While others are complaining about it potentially taking their jobs, some smart guys are using ChatGPT as the base tech stack to launch startups. Truly, interesting times ahead on the digital tech front.

As I guessed the Supreme Court in its usual manner has used technicality deny a man who won an election(primary election in this case) what rightfully belongs to him.

Machina obtained senatorial nomination form, contested in the primary election and won. Then his party APC at the die minute submitted the name of Lawan as their candidate for the Senatorial election despite Lawan not participating in the primary election.

Machina then goes to court and claimed that APC fraudulently substituted his name for Lawan's despite the latter not participating in the primary elections. Do you know what the supreme court did?

The Supreme court in it's lead judgement knocked off Machina's case on the premise that if Machina claims his name was fraudulently substituted, then he should've called witnesses to prove the allegation of fraud instead of only filling originating summons. ( For educational purposes, this is what originating summons means: Originating Summons is one of the ways of commencing action in courts. An action commenced in this manner presupposes that the facts are not in dispute, and what is being asked for is interpretation of a document or law.)

Summary of all this is that the case was knocked off on technicality basis. The danger of this kind of precedents is that u can get away with anything in Nigeria provided ur lawyer can persuade the Supreme court to knock off a case against u on technicality basis.

One of the mistake of Machina was not contesting the June 9 primaries that produced Lawan.

Both primaries was monitored by INEC, APC claimed they canceled the first primary. School boy error from his lawyers. It was the correct decision by the SC

ChatGPT is such a powerful tool, and I think any dev or programmer that wants to survive and thrive in the years ahead need to incorporate AI into their operations.

Also, ChatGPT is a great tool for research. But its results need further verification because it sometimes gives false information and frames it as genuine, a concept experts call hallucination.
