I'm not aware another primary was conducted. This second primary, did Lawan purchase nomination form separate for that one or what?

I thought one of the key points of the new electoral law is that u can only get nomination form and contest for one elective position.

Yes he did. Another primary was conducted on June 9 which INEC monitored also. Before the second primary, APC NWC wrote to INEC that they had canceled the first primary that produced Machina.

Machina refused to participate in the second primary saying he won the first primary fair and square and that the NWC had no reason to cancel it. That I believe should have been the basis of his trail.

Even when there was no scarcity, diversions of products were occurring. We even saw a video of a Custom officer denying some trucks passage to Cameroun. This was when there was no scarcity.

So blaming today's scarcity on diversion is just a lie that anybody will tell you, hoping it becomes true.

If a truck departs with PMS from Lagos, it will not get to Niger Republic till Sunday (assuming all goes well). Add the same number of days for it to return, and tell me how this can cause scarcity.

The price to get fuel at the depot, and selling at 189 is not realistic. You have just heard IPMAN telling it's marketers to stop purchasing. And the reason is clearly written there.

Bro.... check my response to Sege again, I didn't blame current scarcity on diversion. Rather, I ain't giving a fùck on IPMAN Strike cos I know its because they are unable to divert oil to neighbouring Countries again and also being monitored by DSS to selling at fixed rate.

Bro.... we can't keep blaming system everytime. For how long? Is it impossible for every Nigerian to avoid illegalities?

Government is corrupt, so are the Citizens. We can blame system, Government all we want, but if we do not change as Citizens, we will keep electing our replicas as Government Representatives.
We can't change when the system doesn't checkmate us.

We are human and by default exposed to selfishness (fraud).......

We need a system to discipline our hunger and there comes d gov .....

Alright.

Then what happened to the provision of the electoral law that was celebrated back then that u can only contest for one elective position and not two at once ? Is Lawan legally allowed to participate in the Presidential primary as well as the Senatorial primary election in the same election period ?

It is definitely not independent marketers whose sourcing of pms I frankly do not understand that will be diverting product.

But nnpc is the sole importer of pms into the country. Diversion of product begins and ends with them - just as the adulterated fuel began and ended with them

I think one of the cause is because the nnpc are giving more attention to the dapman(bovas and others) than Ipman. For example they sell 50trucks to dapman and 5 to ipman cos they trust the dapman to sell at 185-189 at their station. That’s why you see them bovas and some major marketers selling at the normal price. The major problem now is that some dapman after carrying fuel at the depot instead of taking it to their station to sell at 189. They’ll rather sell to some ipman at the 189 on the spot. That’s why you see them selling at 250 and above. It’s not really about crossing border and selling to neighboring countries. 🌚

One fact i love about the regime is that no matter the lies the people swallow and believe, reality will always be waiting at the end of the day.

So IPMAN that is telling you that they will lose if they sell 189 is lying? To you, it is because they cannot divert fuel?

In the past one year that there was no scarcities, which diverted fuel were they surviving on, bros?

The kind of protests that will engulf the whole country soon will be disastrous.

All these abroadians that don't live in Nigeria are obviously oblivious of the realities people here are facing. They should stop typing rubbish before thunder strikes them. angry

This is not an argument to defend Government, rather to set records straight.

They’re not lying. They’ll lose because most of them are buying from major marketers. Not directly from nnpc. I’ve paid to nnpc since last year august and I’m yet to carry fuel. So how do you get your station running when you’ll have to wait for that long before buying directly from nnpc.

If that is the case, then it appears NNPC and whoever is charged with regulation of petroleum marketing has failed in it's duty. The moment DAPMAN can can sell to IPMAN at a higher cost than the cost they bought from NNPC they have lost it cos they have allowed DAPMAN to be a wholesaler and at the same time retailer.

That explains why I will buy at NNPC filling station at N185, buy at First Royal 350, buy at Petrocam N280...etc angry

But the issue here isn't about banks nor the new notes, it's fuel scarcity.

And like GloriousGbola said, diversion of fuel begins and ends with NNPC and Buhari is the minister of petroleum. I'm just confused how you tried to lump us all into this unnecessary hardship which isn't caused by the average Nigerian bearing the brunt of it today.

Exactly. You got it. I think the dapman too are just trying to be shrewd in their dealings. They’re instructed to sell at 189. Then they see one ipman on the spot willing to pay them 200. They’ll sell to him. And he’ll go to his own station and sell at 250-350.

And most times the dapman sell at the 189 they’re instructed to sell it. Nnpc don’t really care about who they sell to as long as they sell at that 189. But I think the nnpc are now trying to curb that too. But they’ll still find their way. It’s bleeped up bros. 🌚

Turns out that there's a small loophole with that law. That same law further defines who a candidate is in another subsection and by that definition, Lawan was an aspirant. The law only said candidates cannot contest for more than one elective position. Lawan was only an aspirant at the time and not a candidate. cheesy

That exactly is what Machina should've challenged. The legality of the second Primary but he didnt.

But why does he need to challenge it ? If u read the minority ruling, the two justices stated the true and fair position of things. See below:

But in a dissenting decision by Justices Emmanuel Agim and Adamu Jauro, the apex court said Lawan never participated in the APC primary, as he withdrew voluntarily to participate in the presidential primary held on June 8, 2022.

Personally I feel the majority ruling is just an unfair ruling.

No.

INEC said they did not monitor the second primary. That was why INEC refused to change Machine's name.

Yeah. Nnpc is really bleeped up. And I think they don’t really trust the ipman to sell at 189 at their station. So they’re supplying more to those they think will sell at 189 at their station. Those ones will carry 100trucks to supply at their stations. Then sell like 60trucks to desperate ipman that wants to keep their stations running and the rest 40 to their own stations.

To be fair. It’s not profitable for ipman to sell at 189 even if they buy direct from nnpc. If they do that. The profit on lets say 15mil will be around 12,570 😂 and theyll wait for eternity before them see fuel carry. It’s really bleeped up.
