Hello guys, Pls I need your advice, so my approval came in last week Tuesday. And I was meant to resume with the January 2023 intake.
My school already deferred me and gave me the admission letter for January 2024 and has waitlisted me for May and September 2023 since I was still waiting for approval from IRCC. Also I have paid my tuition fee in full
So my questions are this,
I would like to know if I can still travel this Feburary with my January 2023 admission letter and probably let them know at POE that my approval came late. (Has anyone had this kinda experience before )
Secondly will they expect I have an enrollment letter already since I have a receipt showing I have paid in full or the enrollment letter isn’t compulsory ?
Pls guys i need your advice 🙏🏽🙏🏽 1 Like |

I stated sending web forms ending of December, then jan the update my medical to pass, i have already defer to may this year. Wsx2:
You mean you have not gotten a decision yet since August. Am august applicant and most august applicants who were active here since August have gotten a decision.i got my visa in December after 4months but not without sending over 200 urgent webforms. Have you been sending webforms and also when is your resumption date. If your resumption date is close they will fast track your application if you keep sending daily webform. If it's far they may not respond. I was meant to resume December but had to defer to march due to visa delay |

The secret is, take the pains and re-scan all printed documents with a resolution of not more than 100 dpi. This will give you good quality with low mb size. Then compress,if still necessary. 2 Likes |

For the sake of clarity, Conestoga College doesn't offer a Master's program. Please check your acceptance letter, what was given to you is a graduate certificate program.
Pertaining to your question about using your maternal uncle as your sponsor when you're legally married, your chances are quite slim given the fact that your uncle has his family and other responsibilities to cater for. In order for your application to scale through easily, I would suggest you apply alone by being self-sponsored or your hubby should be your sponsor.
It will end in praise Please can you give me your phone number or email address. Need to reach out to you. Thanks |

Abbasdaughter: Good afternoon everyone, My husband just got admitted to New Brunswick Community College last month, we are a family of four and we are thinking that he should apply alone so that I and my child can serve as family ties, also to better his chances of getting approved for visa. Now we have so many questions 1. concerning proof of fund 2. He did computer science as B.sc now he got admitted for Diploma in Electronics engineering Technology....hope the different courses will not raise red flags? 3. He's over 40 with over 15 years study gap 4. What does digital photo means? 5. 2 siblings in Canada are willing to write letters of sponsorship, please what will be needed 6. We have a lot of things that we don't know much about and I'll like if there's anyone who has gone through this process to put us thru, kindly Thanks
1. This and question 5 will be taken together, will his siblings in Canada give him the whole POF or they will just write letters of sponsorpship? The issue will then be that if the VO will be willing to give weight to the third-party sponsorship. The amount they have will also be scrutinized. 2. Since he has left school for a long time, then the immediate consideration will be if the course relates to his work experience, so what does he do now? 3. The age does not matter. I have seen 50 year get SP. 4. Digital photo is passport picture, there are specifications that you can use for the application, you have to visit a photo studion like studio 24 to take one. 6. DO your own research and where you need clarifications, you can always come here and ask questions so the house can help. 2 Likes |

Bmuhd4smile: Hello great minds!
I need clarification regarding POF for Canada study route. MSc / PhD.
Do I have to show tuition fee for the entire duration of study + living expenses for the entire duration ( years) am to study. Or it is just first year's tuition fee and living expenses for first year too. If you have for the entire duration, great But the minimum is having at least first year tuition and living expenses for one year. 1 Like |

isangjohnson: My brother (a public servant) sponsored my ND, BSC and now wants to sponsor my Msc in Canada. He wants to get a loan from bank and transfer it to my account for my POF. 1) What are the possible ways to let the VO know this and what are those things I'll need to proof my points? 2) Will there be any need to present his statement of account when I'm going for interview? 3) If yes, is it his salary account statement or his savings account statement I'll need to present? He has landed properties, though others do not have survey plan but they is a particular one he bought in an estate that has been properly documented and surveyed. 4) Any need to get one of these documents and go along with it? 4. No, you do not need his property documents 3. If he is moving the funds to you, he might not need statement, he can show pay stubs to show his income source. 2. No interview in Canadian application, you will write SOP that will tell your history and why you are going to Canada, you can google samples to see types. 1. Getting a loan and giving you is acceptable but you have to explain how and why he is sponsoring you. |

Wow! Thank you so much, Bulstriker, for these rich and analytical thoughts of yours. I'm really grateful. They will really help a great deal. I have applied for Study Leave from my place of work, but it is not handled fast enough and I should reapply maximum by the middle of this month, since I'm resuming on the 1st of May. In case the letter is not ready by then, should I still reapply and then send it to them through web form when it is ready? Thanks a bunch for your advice. bullstriker: This issue is common with people that come to us for Ph.D. or masters study permit application. Most people with scholarships assume they have met the financial requirement just by submitting scholarship letters. While this is correct in theory, Vos can ask the ‘what if’ questions, as they know that the scholarship is based on you maintaining satisfactory progress in the program. In addition, temporary resident applications, such as a study permit, are based on the discretion of the visa officer; one VO can approve your application, and the same application can be refused if given to another VO. So, you must add your account with substantial funds; have at least one year of living expenses. Better still, get a sponsor, even if it is a third-party sponsor to avoid stories that touch the heart.
The previous application would have been approved if you demonstrated that the funds in your sponsor’s account were accessible and what he would be paying for. Having a scholarship does not mean that VO will not ‘serve you breakfast’ for insufficient finance, as these scholarships, though available, is only accessible when you meet certain requirements. Another Vo can still refuse your application with a full scholarship. However, if you detailed and mentioned precisely what the scholarship cover, how much will be provided per period and when it will be disbursed, you can get away with it. Suppose you don’t have additional funds or a sponsor. In that case, I recommend you ask for a support letter from your Head of Department or supervisor addressed to IRCC stating that they GUARANTEED MAXIMUM FINANCIAL SUPPORT for tuition and living expenses and you are a highly deserving student.
Yes, family and jobs are strong ties. You can demonstrate this by getting a leave of absence or study.
Attestation of Registration and Statement of Results are acceptable in lieu of updated LoA when attached to the initial LoA.
It should please you to know that most VOs will treat your application kindly, having completed almost half of the program in Nigeria even after a refusal. The key to getting your application approved lies in your SoP.

Hi Frankrobbn1! Please, I really need to hear your thoughts too on this. Though I already have great analysis and advice from Bullstriker, I still need to hear from you. You guys are an inspiration on this platform. Let your thoughts also inspire me that "It will end in praise" Thanks a bunch in advance. Ucy12: Hi Nairalanders! Bulstriker, Lekiboboe, Frankrobbn1, and other great minds here...
Thanks for your great contributions on this platform. I had refusals in 2019 and 2020. Generally based on "Purpose of Visit" and "Personal Assets and Financial Status". I used my in-law as sponsor and he had just almost 7M in his account then, and my personal account was 2.6M. I was working in the private sector then, in administration. *Attached here is what my GCMS Notes say.
It's actually a PhD program in Québec. I have a scholarship of exemption which allows me to pay as Canadian citizens. Also have a 5kCAD Welcome Award.
Started the program online in Fall 2020 during Covid lockdown but had the refusal in October. Was encouraged by my supervisor/department to continue since everything was online.
Many things have happened since then. Now, I'm a lecturer in a Federal University here in Nigeria. Two years done already in my PhD program with God helping me to get excellent grades. I now have additional scholarships from my university and faculty which cover all tuition and living expenses for the entire remaining part of the program (2 years). And also a job as research assistant to my supervisor upon arrival. I am married but without children yet. My wife is a lecturer in a Federal Polytechnic for almost 11 years now.
Now, my questions are these: - Is it compulsory I add my personal statement of account to my application? - As of now, I have just 1.5M in my account. Will that be enough if at all I should add it? - Is my present job and family enough home ties? My wife is not traveling with me.
Please guys, scan through my case and help me with advice and suggestions to fire back successfully this time. I am resuming for summer semester (May 2023).
*** My LOA was normally not renewed, since I have already started the program and gone far in it. My registry rather gave me my up to date Attestation of Registration and Statement of Results. My faculty also gave me an Attestation of my academic progress, stating how far I've gone and my new date of resumption. I also have receipts of all the tuitions I paid during this period: Generally between 1000 and 1500k CAD, depending on number of units. *** I hope IRCC will not have issues with the LOA.
Thank you all great minds in advance for your contributions. God bless us all!
