IMF Asks CBN To Extend Feb 10 Deadline For Old Naira Notes by odiks: 12:49pm On Feb 08, 2023
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has advised the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to extend the February 10 deadline for the use of old naira notes if the difficulties in getting new notes persist.

“In light of hardships caused by disruptions to trade and payments due to the shortage of new bank notes available to the public, in spite of measures introduced by the CBN to mitigate the challenges in the banknote swap process, the IMF encourages the CBN to consider extending the deadline, should problems persist in the next few days leading up to the February 10, 2023 deadline,” the statement reads.

Reasonable people reason alike, the mentally derailed reason differently

Emefiele should be sacked with immediate effect. He coloured old note and call it new note.

He withdrew 3 trillion from people and printed only 300 billion

He created panic in the system and made people to suffer upon their money by giving short notice and ultimatum.

He is a party to the 2023 election because he purchased nomination form, he should not remain in the CBN

The February 10 deadline will not work. Whether the CBN likes it or not, Nigerians will keep doing business with the old notes, unless they can get their acts together within the next 48hrs.

read and understand before commenting who extended it to 15 February? As it's no date for old naira notes collection from banks. The court will seat on 15 February and the court can adjourn the case till December , and if the court refused to seat on 15 you are free to spend your old notes until the court give finall judgement

Forget it.

Tinubu is a leader and economic genius.

How can we not support a leader who knows how to grow the economy?

Why would we want to support a desperate political prostitute who has no knowledge about developing economies, but was developing poverty, hardship and wickedness in Anambra?

Tinubu has shown with this currency swap matter, that he is bold and courageous.

Let others learn from Tinubu the same way they were learning from Tinubu's strides in Lagos.
