MaxInDHouse:What is PRAYER of Supplication? If God will not listen to you, why complain like Cain? |
Re: JW 010 by MaxInDHouse(m): 10:09pm On Feb 09, 2023 |
Well it's like you wanted to be tormented with more truth so i will dish it out but then i'm not this wicked you asked for it! ![]() Prayer is when a mortal man is supplicating the spirit realms the one at the receiving end is the God from which the person praying is expecting a response. So when people pray it's not to the same God because there are many Gods out there that people do pray to {1Corinthians 8:5} but to Jehovah's Witnesses our God is one {1Corinthians 8:6} that is why we must follow the guidelines set by His only begotten Son in order for our prayers to be acceptable before our God! Matthew 17:5 This is the model we follow anytime we lift our heads to our God: "Our father who lives in heaven may your name be sanctified" we must acknowledge that our God is the source of all lives {Genesis 1:1} so we mustn't wish everyone human well as we're all children of the same heavenly father! "Let your Kingdom (government) come, so that your will that's taking place in heaven should be extended to our planet home (earth)" We must pray for love, joy and peace to reign globally so that our planet home become a Paradise for all and we must work towards achieving it by showing love to everyone no nationalism or racism. "Give us our daily supply of needs" we mustn't be selfish in our quest for material possessions we should be contented with whatever we have. That's why it's impossible to find a JW begging in your streets because we are OK with whatever we have! Psalms 23:1 "Forgive us our blunders as we also forgive our fellow humans" we mustn't hold a grudge against our fellowman because the sin our God is lifting up from our shoulders is weightier than anything our fellow humans can do to us! Matthew 18:23-35 "Do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the schemes of Satan" we mustn't allow the things of this world to hold us back from the wonderful career Jesus gave us which is becoming zealous preachers and industrious teachers of God's word {Luke 18:18-23} we must view whatever will not allow us participate actively in the work Jesus gave us as a trap from Satan. With all of these been fulfilled in the life of a JW there's no prayer you can think of that makes sense to us {2Timothy 4:1-2} because we are 100% certain that such a person is on the narrow path to everlasting life! Matthew 7:13-14 So if you're thinking of spectacular shows of deliverance it's of no use to us because Jesus warned us not to be carried away with such shows as those involved in these things without following the footstep he laid down will be denied access to him when he returns to reward his true disciples! Matthew 7:21-23 May you have PEACE! ![]() TenQ: |

MaxInDHouse:I didn't ask for your memory verse on the lord's prayer. I specifically said: prayer of supplication Since you don't understand: an example like praying for a JW person who has cancer or a JW having a challenge of Schizophrenia (as examples) Do you pray for these kind of people with examples stated above? Or do you leave them ONLY to the mercy of the hospitals for proper treatment? |

TenQ:Why not ask Paul what himself and the Apostles did about Timothy's sickness? 1Timothy 5:23 We pray to be strong in this condition of things because we need the physical strength to do the work of our God {Matthew 28:19-20; Act 1:8} so if He is willing that we remain in active preaching and teaching fine but as for sickness it's part of the signs of the endtime {Luke 21:11} Jesus never said we won't be affected. ![]() 1 Like |

MaxInDHouse:I've never insinuated that hospitals are obsolete for Christians. Is it wrong to ask if you follow these scriptures Acts 28:8: "And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him." And Jam 5:14-15: "Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him." My Question again: I specifically said: prayer of supplication Since you don't understand: an example like praying for a JW person who has cancer or a JW having a challenge of Schizophrenia (as examples) Do you pray for these kind of people with examples stated above? Or do you leave them ONLY to the mercy of the hospitals for proper treatment? |

TenQ: I have answered you but as usual you're trying to confirm what you have in mind so i will tell you the truth that you don't want to hear. God never gave people of other nations the power to perform miracles so it's impossible for anyone to pray to the God of Abraham now and heal anyone. Paul himself explained that the supernatural gifts Christianity experienced in the first century was for a purpose: so that the Jews can identify the group God approved out of several rival sects claiming worshipers of the God of Moses back then in the first century. But it will soon end: Love never fails. But if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away with; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away with. 1Corinthians 13:8 That's why Paul couldn't heal himself later when the gifts left them {2Corinthians 12:9} neither can they heal Timothy! 1Timothy 5:23 As for James he was talking about spiritual sickness not physical that's why he said: Is there anyone sick among you? Let him call the elders of the congregation to him, and let them pray over him, applying oil to him in the name of Jehovah. And the prayer of faith will make the sick one well, and Jehovah will raise him up. Also, if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. James 5:14-15 God's people still pray for Christians to be healed from spiritual sickness resulting from sin because it may deprive a Christian from entering God's Kingdom but as for physical sickness whether they live or die with it as long as their faith is intact they are saved! Unfortunately, just as the rest of the scriptures you won't read to comprehend James 5:14-15. What does ALSO mean in the last sentence? Is there anyone sick among you? Let him call the elders of the congregation to him, and let them pray over him, applying oil to him in the name of Jehovah. And the prayer of faith will make the sick one well, and Jehovah will raise him up. Also, if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. James 5:14-15 Exactly as you quoted the scripture. Other translations use the term "AND" Meaning that a person can be sick without being as a result of sin! MaxInDHouse:The question is about YOU as Maximus! Do YOU pray for these kind of people with examples stated above? Or do you leave them ONLY to the mercy of the hospitals for proper treatment? |
Re: JW 010 by MaxInDHouse(m): 11:12am On Feb 10, 2023 |
TenQ: Why do you keep deceiving yourself? The word "AND" means such a person may become weak spiritually due to the death of a loved one, financial lost, disappointed or ill-treatment from unbelievers so just as Jesus prayed for Peter so that his weakness may be healed {Luke 22:31-32} later Peter's faith in Jesus was tested to the point where he actually denied Jesus publicly. This is what James is talking about not physical health Sir! ![]() 1 Like |
Re: JW 010 by TenQ: 12:26pm On Feb 10, 2023 |
MaxInDHouse: AND or ALSO mean , in addition to what was stated earlier about the sick: even if he had committed sins, he would be forgiven Is there anyone sick among you? Let him call the elders of the congregation to him, and let them pray over him, applying oil to him in the name of Jehovah. And the prayer of faith will make the sick one well, and Jehovah will raise him up. Also, if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. James 5:14-15 Is your own bible telling you that a person becomes sick ONLY because such a person had committed sins? |
Re: JW 010 by MaxInDHouse(m): 1:02pm On Feb 10, 2023 |
Ọmọ i have told you that i am Maximus one of Jehovah's Witnesses so if you want to learn all you need to do is humble yourself not thinking you have anything to contribute to whatever a JW says about our own God. Did Peter sinned by denying Jesus? YES! But why did he denied Jesus when he knew what Jesus taught regarding denying the Christ? It was due to the fear of men. So why did Jesus pray for Peter ahead of Peter's blunder? Because Peter denied Jesus not Christ so it's until Jesus have died, resurrected and ascended to heaven that whoever denied him has committed the greater sin such a person didn't sin against the son of man (Jesus) anymore rather he has sinned against God's Holy Spirit through which all the facts about the Christ was revealed! So if a Christian did anything stupid due to frustration, intimidation, fear or confusion it is a sin that he really needed other Christians to pray over him. That's what James is telling you not physical sickness because both Paul and Timothy got sick they never got healed by miracles! ![]() TenQ: |
Re: JW 010 by TenQ: 4:43pm On Feb 10, 2023 |
MaxInDHouse:Some people thought that sickness was as a result of sin until Jesus corrected them John 9:2-3: "And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither has this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him." And , your argument doesn't even remotely answer the fact that AND or ALSO mean to n ADDITION! Is there anyone sick among you? Let him call the elders of the congregation to him, and let them pray over him, applying oil to him in the name of Jehovah. And the prayer of faith will make the sick one well, and Jehovah will raise him up. Also, if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. James 5:14-15 Why do you Pray to Jehovah here? What is ALSO doing in the verse? |
Re: JW 010 by MaxInDHouse(m): 5:23pm On Feb 10, 2023 |
TenQ: Of course sickness is according to sin but it's not our own sin rather the sin we inherited from Adam. But the sickness James is talking about is that which weakens a Christian from actively participating in wholesome activities like our campaign for God's Kingdom. If it's about physical sickness Christ knows it's not our fault we were born with that but this has to do with emotional breakdown we often experience when something happens to us in most cases such things do weaken us so that we may either become tired or stop working for our Master, Lord and King. Our salvation is tied to the faith we have in Christ Jesus by fully participating in the ministry because that's our own tithes that we must pay to the High Priest (Christ) Satan knows that when tragedy strikes it often weakens the faith of imperfect humans {Job 1:9-11} and most times if someone is not strong spiritually speaking he or she may turn away from sacred service to God. That's the sickness James is talking about here not physical sickness. So we pray to our God for the strength from His Holy Spirit to help our fellow believers to perform more in the sacred services {Romans 8:25} when such happens so that Satan may be put to shame! Proverbs 27:11 The word "ALSO" in that verse means at times a Christian may begin doing stupid things (sin) due to frustration so the prayer of faithful brothers will result to forgiveness from our God! We don't need your contribution Sir we are OK with our understanding of the scriptures! ![]() 1 Like |

terrezo2002:Thanks bro. I am expecting him to ask me to bring the evidence to Nairaland! SMH!! They do not know that every child of God is empowered to preach, heal and cast out demons. The limitations depend only on our Spiritual gifting, the level of our faith, the level of our fellowship with God and a life of purity! But this is completely absent in their lives as they do not have the Spirit of Christ! 1 Like |

jaephoenix: According to your submission, when jaephoenix agrees to an out of court settlement with his legal opponent, therefore both parties are guilty? The fact that someone makes litigation against jaephoenix is evidence he is guilty? Romans 12:18 "If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men" JWs strive "to be at peace with all men" ,thats the principles from the holy scriptures we follow. Or can you, Maxindhouse, preach in more than 1000 languages? Even if you can, will it be because you learned the languages or because you miraculous do so without prior learning? MaxInDHouse: Maxindhouse, there are certain satanic and demonic occult groups out there that have more than 9 million members, worldwide, are they also doing the work of the Messiah? Mind you, their various members are also busy gathering more members to their fold. MaxInDHouse: Many members of satanic occult groups do that also. So, what is special about it?
