The Labour Party (LP) and the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA’23) on Wednesday agreed with the position of the National Council of State that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) should print more new Naira notes or recirculate the old ones.

Chief Spokesperson of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council (LP-PCC), Dr Yunusa Tanko in a chat with Daily Independent said the best way the Naira redesign policy can work is more new Naira notes are printed while the old notes are gradually withdrawn.

"It's very obvious that they have to print new notes which will then take out the old notes because the new notes are already in circulation and cannot be withdrawn".

"So they should print more gf the new notes and then gradually withdraw the old notes. That is the only way the Naira redesign policy can stand".

On his part, Otunba Bosun Oladele, the National Secretary of SWAGA said the group is in support of the decision as long as it will ease the pain of the masses.

He also said SWAGA's position is that both the old and new notes should co-exist until the new naira notes are fully in circulation.

"Yes we are in support of the decision, as long as it will ameliorate the suffering of Nigerians and ease the accessibility to banking and commercial transactions in the country".

" Our position has been that the Federal government should allow the old and the new currencies to co-exist through the transition period".

Remember just 2weeks more, in which they'll be a difference between a PDP, APC, LP, NNPP supporters.

After the election you all become the same, a rape victim...

Confused Labourer party.

Obi the lunatic leader said Nigerians should bear with CBN and stick to the deadline because na him papa work for the money wey dey Nigeria masses hand wey dey no go fit change before the deadline.

Now the party spokesperson coming to say a different thing. Confused people.

I salute Tinubu for speaking up first. The moment he spoke in Abeokuta like this, the game changed for the useless Emefiele and his gang of cabals.

Man just purposely plunged people into suffering because of his own deceptive agenda.

The policy is good but implementation is poor. this has characterized the APC government.
LP should not take FG serious, LP should never support any of their controversial policy at this time, they will implement it shabbily to make you look foolish before the masses. they know the script that they are playing. if you lend your voice they will make you the villain.

I am ashamed of my Yoruba brothers who don't see life beyond tribalism and religion. I bet you that if APC had brought Osinbajo as the presidential candidate, Igbos will vote Osinbajo instead of Obi and that is who they are when it comes to politics. They always go for the best no matter the tribe. They voted in favour of Obasanjo, Yaradua and Jonathan against they fellow tribe men that contested against these three presidents. They warned us about Buhari but we didn't listen to them because we were so clouded with tribalism and religious sentiment. If Tinubu as a Yoruba man is the best man for the job against Obi as igbo man, the Igbos will vote Tinubu against Obi. Secondly, if Authur Eze is contesting against Osinbajo, Igbos will vote Osinbajo against Author Eze because they always go for the younger, smart and service oriented as well as the best for the job. But we Yorubas has failed to understand that sentiment and tribalism is the reason Nigeria is not moving forward yet we pray every day in church and mosque for God's help but we refused to do our part. Obi is younger, creative and active for the job compare to others.

Implementation should be the topmost priority of any sane thinking institution.

Only God know how much Nigeria money they’ve wasted in this Naira new note policy.

No mind those nonentities.

Awolowo was the best candidate that ever contested in any presidential election. He did not even get up to 5-10% in the Igbo states but they somehow stylishly want us to think that they vote credible candidate lol.

Same region that produced Ikpeazu, one of the worst governor of this decade are trying to say they vote credible candidate lol 😂.

When did voting PDP all their years translate to them not being tribalist? If an Igbo candidate had been on the ballot for the top 2 political parties, they would have voted for the Igbo man.

In 2007, 2011, 2015, & 2019; there are numerous Yoruba presidential candidate contesting under mushroom parties but yet we Yorubas voted Yar’adua, Jonathan, Buhari twice. Does that conclude we are not tribalist or if we are tribalist since we failed to vote our own son on other parties.

I don talk am before.

Emefiele is a gooner. Buhari will sack that guy; no doubt. Na him go be the fall guy and Buhari go use am save face like he did with the council of state meeting.

Agree or not:

- Tinubu and the APC govs won
- Asiwaju aquired more clout
- Atiku goofed and failed to use the crisis to score the correct political point. The media will remind Nigerians that he supported the demonic policy
- Na Obi fail pass. The crisis was an easy test to showcase his leadership skills but failed woefully. Obi doesn't have the balls challenge the cabals controlling this country if he becomes president. His presidency will bring more harm than good. Cabals go step on his toes without consequences. Na that Datti wey be like arindin go make matter worse. Datti is too weak - from crying to saying that oversized rubbish on national tv: he's not the kind of alpha to lead the country.
- Of all three candidates, Asiwaju is the only one that displayed leadership quality (we can argue he did it for his election bid or not). The media and masses will note him as the one who fought for them against the CBN, cabal and Buhari and sympathized with them.

Leave story for Mathias. Asiwaju is not their fathers' mate in politics. Public sentiment was a goal. Tact handling Buhari, the cabal, and Emefiele was a goal. Using the supreme court to clip the presidency's wing was a goal. The most astonishing of all goal was that he still got Buhari campaign for in his rallies. grin Him give bubu wotowoto in the media, public court of opinion, and the supreme court, while making Bubu escort him to the top relgious rulers of the north.

Again, Amuda is not their mate. grin

First, his reaction came way too late. Too late. The last of the top 4 to speak about the current economic hardship.

Pandora Anini should tell us forward thinking countries where the citizens suffer like Nigerians are suffering because their apex bank want to swap or redesign their currency. grin

This guys is too poor in tact and reasoning to be a politician in such a complex country like ours. Na just motivational speech - no wit! zero sagacity!

Buhari and the Presidency are saving face with "CBN gave false intel" "CBN told us there would be no problem" but the dull Pandora is telling people to be patient with the ill-thought policy. That's the presidency literally agreeing with what people have been saying that the policy is a flop grin The ode is literally saying everyone who opposed the swap policy are wrong and people deserve the unnecessary hardship. I see zero leadership quality in Obi; no wonder the Sultan of Sokoto gave him a book to read about leadership grin

The way I see it Pandora internationally kept quiet and was so happy that "Buhari was fighting Asiwaju with the redesign policy." The delusional man discovered late that he has been left behind when the presidency started piling blame on the CBN. He had no choice than to come out with that nonsense and watery reaction.

People should leave social media and listen to local radio stations for a day to listen to people complaining about the hardship they're experiencing because of the swap. There is no note for people to spend. Cash scarcity. The masses are forced out from engaging in the economy. Bad online banking experiences. But Pandora said this kind of things are common with countries doing currency resigns grin
