Lol he's lecturing me about cross ventilation. Most inverters are installed in rooms, corridors with little or no access to ventilation infact any small space you find, even under staircase. People use extractor fans or just get a standing fan for cooling.
It's difficult to get that space unless the house was designed and planned to accommodate inverters from scratch. We manage to get installation space that's having one window not to talk of two windows that are positioned for cross ventilations. Anyways my experience is based on city installations, I'm sure there are houses in some areas in Nigeria where you have all the space and windows.
Okay

Yes you are absolutely correct. But whether the tester has a wide range scan for hydrogen, I may not have a prove for that but I can tell u, am on a project where we are rehabilitating a hydrocarbon plant and each time a hydrocarbon line is aired/opened, the testers triggers and am I usef same tester on my project... Which means this tester is of the industrial standard and approved by the appropriate body for use... So I have got a great level of confidence on this.

On the issue of the period the batteries bubbles, again, yes, I have set my equalization for once every month, so if this is happening and my fan is active, I sure be safe at this period... My major fear was not so much of explosion but the harzard, if any, it poses to life... So with this test result, I think am safe with my batteries in the long corridor within the house as yours..

So I think from your comment, this Concept is safe and it helps... Tha k you for the perimeter provided too anyway!

brother,
it's actually bad practice installing flooded lead acid within your living space. if you have a
verandah, consider moving the batteries there. just build a metal cubicle to shield them from rain.
you can leave the inverter itself within the house. the only downside will be your long cable run from
battery to inverter. better safe than sorry. besides, the corrosive effect of h2 gas may be unnoticeable
initially but over time, your electronics may suffer for it. just my thoughts.

You will inhale gas from your tubular batteries if it's inside your house. Cross ventilation will not save you. Who still opens windows and curtains in their houses wide open like they are in the village.

Haaaaa

Open your windows ooooo.
Ppu still open windows widely.
So na only village dem dey open windows down?
No b everytime b ac o. Open your windows to push out other gases. You need it. grin

Even the metal rack suffer rust, if the inverter is directly on top of the rack where gasses hit the bottom part. The bottom part of the inverter will suffer rust as in serious one.

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 2:59pm On Feb 11, 2023
It has a power factor of 0.7

Meaning you have 3500W inverter.

Immediately after reading this, had to go and check under my inverter if their is any rust because it's directly installed over my batteries(tubular). No rust for now. Well will look into this.

What's the implications of power factor. Always thought power factor is majorly determined by the load not the inverter

Pls i need quotation of 1kva solar system, that can conveniently carry my inverter refrigerator with rated current of 100watt during the day and still charges the battery to be use at night for just 55watt led TV and 8 energy saving bulb of 6watt each and a 18inch qasa DC fan. Pls note that my refrigerator is a Samsung inverter refrigerator of rated input of 100watt, I want the refrigerator to work like 6 to 7hrs during the day while i use the battery at night for the listed item above

1kva System isn’t sufficient. You need at least 2KVA system. Cheers

I tested it last year with the beebee s1 solar system with inverter of 150watt and it powers it but after abt 30min the system make a beep sound and went off

To the best of my knowledge, 1kva inverter will comfortably power his loads, 100w refrigerator during the day and approximately 147w loads during the night.
8pcs of 6w bulbs is 48w. 18" fan of his type is 10 to 15w on average and max is 20w. 55" Hisense with decoder is 84w.
Using 0.8pf as calculation to size the inverter, 1kva inverter may still give him headroom.......

Tubular, noooo. Enough gases we inhale already. I can not come and kill myself.

Make the inverter 1.5kva, it's better this way.

there is this 1.5kva 12v hf hybrid inverter I saw on jiji. should be fine for your application. 80amps charging current.but e cost over 150k

if your fridge is inverter fridge, then 1kva inverter will serve ok still, as it has very minimal or no surge.
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by osayuwamwen(m): 8:01pm On Feb 11, 2023
Yes it is inverter refrigerator, na the 80amps charging current be the 150k or they hybrid inverter?

yeah, 1.5kw, not kva with inbuilt 80amps mppt charge controller, also lithium battery compatible, only issue be say you need minimum of 6 panels of voc over 41v to work well, as its a high voltage hybrid

then a 1kva inverter will work ok for you. the only wahala is that the average 1kva inverter has 15amps maximum charge current.

My brother, your experience is what makes this thread strong. You are advising people ahead.
This issue was brought up a while back about inverter ac , and whether to use transformer based inverters.
I opted for transformer based inverters and I stuck with my normal ac. And it has been fine my neighbors inverter ac , keeps giving the guy problems and does not chill very well.

Sorry for your loss.
I

Please which inverter are you using, kindly mention the product and how many KVA?
