GEJTILL2019:Complain. It's an error from them. More so it's in Nigeria people with higher qualifications get employed to jobs that they ll be told to bring their lower qualifications. It happens mostly at banks, Lebanese/Indian companies and some govt works |

I'll honestly never understand how people really make a living out of 9 to 5 jobs.. Like, how do you people survive with an income source that keeps you waiting for approximately 25 days before you lay hands on money? Between God and man, I go just die! Tried it just once while I was in the university. Worked on a contract basis with NTA, and it wasn't even a full day job. 4 days in a week, at least 5hours in any of those days, yet it still felt very awkward, even when I paired it with business..! Una dey try o! Nigerians are really strong people. Cause this life wey I come so, I have to be touching money "everyday". Even if it's just 3K I'm earning daily, e no matter. Salary jobs are just a complete NO for me! 1 Like 1 Share |

jclassiq: Follow your passion only! Miss Nigeria 1979 was Helen Prest. She's a law student at University of Ife. After graduation from the law school, she went ahead to learn Fashion Designing. She founded "Metamorphosis" which was a great name in the Nigerian fashion world way back then. She never practise law for a day! Yet, I've seen folks who would give anything to become a lawyer! Education is meant ONLY to help give expression to the conceptions of Mind - it isn't a means to possessing Meal Ticket, per se? How come certain folks without adequate education are making it in Industry and other endeavours - ever thought of that? 1 Like |

GEJTILL2019: In a federal establishment using consolidated salary structure like Conhess, contediss etc, HND,BSc is level 07 which is GL 08 while OND is level 05 (GL 06) This is how the career progression is using CONHESS for instance: Conhess 1 - GL 2 Conhess 2 - GL 3 Conhess 3 - GL 4 Conhess 4 - GL 5 Conhess 5 - GL 6 Conhess 6 - GL 7 Conhess 7 - GL 8 Conhess 8 - GL 9 Conhess 9 - GL 10 Conhess 11 - GL 12 Conhess 12 - GL 13 Conhess 13 - GL 14 Conhess 14 - GL 15 Conhess 15 - GL 16 Conhess 15 - GL 17 In your case, there are several reasons they must given u ATO instead of TO that u applied for: 1. They need you but you didn't do well in the interview but they still want to absorb you. 2. There was no approval to recruit TO so they helped with ATO 3. Your cgpa for HND is too low to be given TO 4. Someone that knows someone has taken the slot of TO. etc. In all, na grace you see o...my advice, start BSc immediately and get converted to professional cadre later cos with OND/HND, You terminal level is Chief Technical Officer on Conhess 13/ GL 14 but with BSc, you'll get to the post of Director of Conhess 15/GL 17 depending on your age though 7 Likes 1 Share |

Buddha3:Does it mean that when you received your salary, you will lavished it at once? Even in business, if you spend anyhow because you are seeing the money daily, the business will failed within a space of time. In fact you need more discipline in personal business than salary earners in terms of spending for the business to grow, if not you will bankrupt. 2 Likes 1 Share |

GEJTILL2019: Reject it if you sure it is not what you applied for. Besides, do you understood the grade level of the job before applying for it? Or it is when you have accepted and signed the probation letter then you began to understand the system while in the job? |

Odidigboigbo: Very true! But my brother, I cannot put my time and freewill in the hands of someone else. I want to be in a position where I determine my working hours. God knows I love mental freedom. Back when Ibok-ette Ibas was the Chief of Naval Staff, I had the express access to be a Naval personnel through the Direct Short Service Course, but I bluntly turned it down. I wasn't even required to go through the rigorous process. All that was needed was for me to submit the credentials. I just didn't see myself being constrained, restricted and limited, or having other people determine what I do with myself and my time. The money aspect is only the second grounds on which I can't see myself being anybody's employee. Not even the Government. |

Buddha3:The facts remains that not everybody can do business and personal business takes more discipline and commitment to build. If you are lazy and treat things with levity, business is not for you. Those that see business as a freedom to control their time doesn't go far in business, especially when you are building the business. You only have the leisure when the business has been established fully and you have capable hands overseeing it. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Manigie: Thank you for this explanation to the OP. It is an answer I was seeking. I had earlier posted on a thread asking for a degree holder (BSc) in the Federal Civil Service if CONTISS II 07 step 02 is equivalent to GL08? I didn't get answers so I did some findings online and they all seem to point to the explanation that you have given to the OP. I would still appreciate it if you can confirm my thoughts about CONTISS II 07 step 02 being equivalent to GL08. Thank you very much. |
