II wouldn't call Go George bus service a brt... Or not yet anyway, they are upgrading the roads at the moment but I don't know if they will incorporate a designated bus lane.

So jumia was also co-founded by Ghanaians?
Interesting.
Now imagine if Ghana had 230 Million people? That is more or less 7times more. And we all know population builds market, and market creates innovation, and innovation creates room for ideals, and ideals creates Tech startups. By virtue of per capita. Nigeria is a zoo/ backwards and nowhere close to GIANT. You breed too many young people (clear pic of family planning devoidness ) and that's what plays to your advantage.

Anyways, I didn't came here to side anyone or attack you. Fight your war and stop simping. We're on a break mourning Kikuyu 1. Deal with people fighting you. We will be back.

Nigerians registered mobile transactions worth N2.37 trillion (5 Billion dollars) in January 2023, representing a staggering 125% increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year amidst the sustained scarcity of cash in the country.

This is according to recent data released by the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement Systems (NIBSS). Also, the volume of mobile transactions in the largest African economy rose by 55% year-on-year to 108.1 million in contrast to 32.6 million transactions registered in January 2022.

Nigerians have endured massive cash scarcity in recent weeks following the decision of the apex bank to redesign higher naira denominations and phase the old notes out of the economy. The initial deadline for the usage of the old notes was 31st January 2023, which was later extended to 10th of February.

However, due to the limited new notes in circulation, cash transactions have been hard to come by in the country, as many had to endure long queues in banking halls, ATMs, and point of sale (POS) in other to get cash.

Others had to pay a premium of as much as 30% to withdraw from POS agents across the country. The cash drought in the country meant that Nigerians had to adopt other forms of banking transactions, like mobile banking, NIP, and the Point of Sale.

Specifically, the value of NIP (NIBSS Instant Payments) rose by 46% to N38.77 trillion (80 Billion dollars) in January 2023 from N26.65 trillion recorded in the corresponding period of 2022. It only declined marginally by 7.7% when compared to N42.03 trillion recorded in December 2022.

Majority are diaspora Nigerians. A nigerian brought up in Nigeria has very slim chance of succeeding. Not even in football or basketaball- you have to scourge through Europe for Nigerian kids born and brought up abroad.

I've decided not to engage in any negative vibe on this thread again but I renege that decision because what u wrote up there is clearly devoid of any sense.

Firstly, Jumia was co-founded by a Ghanaian, not Ghanaians.

Secondly, I can't imagine Ghana to have 230m people cos they certainly can't have it in this century, not even in the next 200years, so ur stupidity isn't just ridiculous, it is utterly insane.

Thirdly, Nigeria's population isn't 230m and even if it is, how does that equate to backwardness when kenya's population growth is even worse off than Nigeria's from 60's till now? If we should label a country as breeding too many people and devoids family planning, then I guess we should be pointing at u, idiot.

And finally, never again in ur life pin a lost soul to ur stupidity. Let him rest.

Kenya was breeding like rats in 70s and 80s - we had world highest population growth - with fertility rate of 8 - and we took action. Now we about to go below 3 kids per woman.

Nigeria is stuck at 6-5 kids per woman - and it's population is growing very fast.

The difference btw Kenya and Nigeria - Kenya is progressive countries that fixes and address her problem - Nigeria at best cant seem to get handle of any of their problem - at worse it keep regressing.

You do know Jumia isn't completely African or rather Nigerian in origin, right? Despite its claim being a pan-African retailer store, it was founded by two white guys or more specifically a French man and a Canadian French man and the current CEOs of the company. Tunde Kehinde and Raphael Kofi Afaedor are just the Co-founders.

It would of been better to post Konga thats completely Nigerian owned by Nnamdi Ekeh and a major direct competitor of Jumia.

Am not sure about 7,000 people killed in 3months,but usually,18,000 are killed yearly, that is about 52 daily.

Some folks blame African immigrants for high crime rates, some folks blames the high inequality between the rich and the poor, some folks blames the weak justice system.

Those who blames black foreigners for the crime are using whatever thing possible to try make all black foreigners to apear as demons.just look at this post from one of them....
"Commanders foreigners fight and resist arrest, their leader tests the strength of national security. Imbewu ka Malema imdakaokey. "

But the truth is,
SA constitution is not okey and they have a huge moral decay in their society. If they solve those 2 issues, everything will be fine

If no designated bus lanes, then that is not BRT. Your brain know how BRT works, buses need to move faster,if no special lanes for buses then that idea of a BRT won't materialize since there will be Alot of obstruction from other motorists.
The same thing happened in Kenya, they just drew some paint on a road and wrote the word BRT, what followed next was other motorists entered in the same lanes and chaos erupted. Fake BRT was then halted. ..for good

South Africa has a murder rate of 35.8 per 100,000, its insanely high and Nigeria is not far behind with a murder rate of 34.52 per 100,000. Compared to Ghana 2.09 per 100,000 or Kenya 4.93 per 100,000.

if a startup is founded by more than one person, then it's co-founded, It doesn't matter their origin. Jumia doesn't have founder, but rather co-founder, it wasn't founded by two white guys but four co-founders.

The reason u see jumia listed for Nigeria is because it was founded in Lagos, Nigeria.

Yah the issues of insecurity in these countries is due to the failure of these governments to do what governments all over the world are mandated to do...securing the citizens.
It's even more sad when u see these very same citizens defending their government's failure.
