If you see the Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan stepping out in purple and gold, there’s a reason.

Over the weekend, the 85-year-old religious leader became an honorary member of Omega Psi Phi after initially pledging in the early 50s, but not being allowed to be initiated.


In a tweet that included photos with his new fraternity brothers, Farrakhan thanked the Omegas for the honor of joining the Atlanta-based organization.



In 1951, Min. Farrakhan attended Winston-Salem Teachers College, which is where he came in contact with the Omegas and began his pledge process.

“Boy they beat the hell out of me,” Min. Farrakhan told a group of Omegas in 2011 in a speech after he was presented with a lifetime achievement award, according to Watch the Yard, a website targeted at Black Greek-lettered organizations. “I wanted to be an Omega so bad, the whipping didn’t matter.”

CJ Davis allegedly told detectives not to investigate the husband of a colleague after images of him with underage girls were found
Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn ‘CJ’ Davis, whose officers brutally beat Tyre Davis to death, had been previously fired by the Atlanta Police Department for deliberately botching a sex crimes probe, according to local news outlet the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Davis was demoted from major to lieutenant and then fired in 2008 after a city investigation found her at fault for taking “no action” on the case of a police sergeant’s husband who ultimately pleaded guilty to a federal charge of producing child pornography.

Two detectives claimed Davis had ordered them not to investigate Terrill Marion Crane after police found sexually explicit images of him with underage girls. His wife, Sgt. Tonya Crane, resigned before the department could discipline her.

Kamala Harris Omits ‘Creator’ and Right to ‘Life’ from ‘Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness’ Quote



In a pro-abortion speech decrying last year’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, Vice President Kamala Harris omitted the right to life being endowed by the Creator when she quoted the Declaration of Independence.

Speaking at a nightclub and concert venue called The Moon on Sunday, Harris invoked the Declaration while attempting to frame abortion as a right:


“So we are here together because we collectively believe and know America is a promise. America is a promise. It is a promise of freedom and liberty — not for some, but for all.

“A promise we made in the Declaration of Independence: that we are each endowed with the right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”


However, according to the Declaration of Independence, “life” is also an inalienable right – and Americans possess all three rights because they are “endowed by their Creator”:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Harris then appears to suggest that the rights have not been endowed by a Creator:

“Be clear. These rights were not bestowed upon us. They belong to us as Americans. And it is that freedom and liberty that enabled generations of Americans to chart their own course and decide their own future with, yes, ambition and aspiration.”
