Which universities do not require the use of an agent? Can I get a scholarship with average grades but extensive research experience and publications? What are the actual application cycles? I was told February and June. It this true? |

Pls my people, the gurus in the house...I have few questions bothering me. 1..my first degree is four year(Bsc.Ed), do Australia universities accept 4yrs degree for a masters program? A graduate of UNN 2:1 2...I have been following this thread for sometime now, I haven't seen anyone applying for Ms Teaching/Education...both secondary and early child education even though they are both in the SOL list...is it a bad career for Nigerian students over there? What is it like to get admission for the above courses and job opportunities during and after studies? 3...For GTE, someone who is an only child of a single parent( though married), can one use it as a point when writing GTE, stating that he or she needs to comeback immediately after studies to take care of the "parent" ? 4...my husband is a business man, registered with CAC but do not have employees....he wants me to be the main applicant with him as my sponsor and dependent, if he manages to fund his account for POF , will he be asked to provide further documents ? Which document can they ask from a sponsor running such business? 5...Aside teaching, is there any other course or career path on the SOL list that I can go into with my first degree (Edu Biology) ? Note: I have TRCN certificate. Pls my people I honestly need answers to the above questions.. Thanks and God bless! |

OvaSabi1:Check idp, it's entirely free to apply through them as long as you meet all the requirements. It's also an Australian company. 2 Likes |

Sylvyangel: Can I ask, why would others charge a fee if a competitor is doing this for free? Perhaps IDP is slower or what do you think? |

With your research experience you can contact supervisors for research opportunities especially for PhD if that is what you intend going for. OvaSabi1: 1 Like |

what happens if the intake date has passed and the student visa is still under processing in Australia. what's the best way to go about this. Thank you |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Sasha27: 4:47pm On Feb 13, 2023 |
SundayphilipNic:It’s two ways 1. You check with your school to know if there is a grace period to resume even though the intake date has passed 2. If there is none and enrollment for that intake date has passed, you defer and request for a new COE to upload on your immi portal so that when your visa is being issued, it’s issued based on the new COE. 1 Like |

Jhigan:Those professions you listed require at least a minimum of one year of working experience in the role to get a positive assessment. I knew some people that were fortunate to secure jobs with similar job roles during Covid lockdown which aided their skill assessment but to be sincere getting a job in that sector with the job responsibilities you will need for skill assessment doesn't come easy but not impossible. She still have option of writing APHRA exam (you can only write this twice in a lifetime) and if successful, she can practice her medical profession here. The second option is switching to medical related course such as Nursing, Biomedical science etc while onshore as this will lead to PR quicker. PS: Medical related professions are always in demand with a smiling salary. |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by bligs: 1:09am On Feb 14, 2023 |
OvaSabi1:PhD will just give you an edge as Accounting is one of the courses ppl are really finding it difficult to secure a PR with in the last couple of years. There are so many Accounting graduates onshore but all hope is not lost, if you can avoid states like Victoria, NSW and Queensland. With enough publications and a tight profile, you can also try the option of global talent. 2 Likes |

Possibly yes. Just focus on reaching out to supervisors in your research area with your transcripts and CV which includes your research publications. OvaSabi1: |

All Australian uni has one form of scholarship/funding for their research degree programs. You need to take sometime to check your program website for each school to see their funding offers. uzogbodo1988: |

Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Morp: 4:29pm On Feb 16, 2023 |
Sylvyangel: You'd be responsible for your application and if any university requires you to certify documents, they'd not do it for you. Other agents will include that as part of their services but some of them charge unreasonable fees from students. In all, do your research, get necessary documents, start your application early. It's worth the cost (ie free). 1 Like |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Morp: 4:39pm On Feb 16, 2023 |
OvaSabi1: IDP isn't charging students because they get paid by institutions and it has nothing to do with their speed. The agents will only forward your application to the institutions and the processing time depends on the institution not the agents. 1 Like 1 Share |

Ctemi: Masters in what? Why not start by using Google and come back here with more specific questions. Each institution you or your brother is applying to will have list of agents and you can only know this if you have decided on a course and institution. |
