Stop capping. Upwork doesn't offer freelancers 3% service fee. Anyway, I know the person behind this monicker grin grin. Welcome back

No you don’t know anybody behind this moniker, and I’ve never put my identity on here for no reason. My giveaways are anonymously done, my stakes hidden, and my anonymity unparalleled.

I could be President Trump for all I care.

And yes; UpWork charges me 3% per transaction.

Let’s place a bet of a million naira if you’re so sure of your fallacious assertions.

Stop lying.

Here’s how it works:

$0-$500 in earnings from a client: 20% service fee applied to earnings
$500.01-$10,000 in earnings from a client: 10% service fee
$10,000.01 or more in earnings from a client: 5% service fee

He's obviously talking about direct contracts on Upwork. He's making it sound like a huge secret but it's actually there in the open for everyone to see. Doesn't make him an OG like he makes it seem.
Re: Upwork Thread (Questions/Help/Advice) by Ayomipoe(m): 5:03pm On Feb 13, 2023
Yes, but direct contracts are for those you bring to the platform, if I had a client off-platform, I'd be hesitant about bringing them onto Upwork in the first place. He smells like a scammy fellow, his posts are designed to attract the curious to what must he be doing to earn that much.

I have probably given away on this forum, in equivalent to your entire life savings.

Scamming you of peanuts will be a great disservice to the already abject poverty living conditions your redundant brain has subdued you to.

Go search for my previous posts you hillbilly.

True, I am simply a young man. However, I am entitled to my own opinions and I am allowed to share them. Your character is very suspicious and I'd take whatever you are selling as fugazi, even if it is a giveaway to the "masses", caveat emptor.
I will also not be replying to you further, you enjoy confrontation and I would like to deny you that pleasure.

Yeah, but the way he was going about it as if it applies to all contract was funny. And it is no secret or gaming the system like he claims.

Have you ever given away 100,000 in your discombobulated life before to random strangers?
Nah, you’re too tight handed and a stingy riffraff to consider it.

I’ve given away a million naira (100,000 each) to 10 strangers I’ve never met before, here on this platform. Go figure.

If that’s a fugazi, then you really need a refund on your education.

Staked 10,000,000 on betting, which I’m sure your entire life savings isn’t worth a tenth off.

Young man, know your mates.

I’ve dropped valuable proposal nuggets on this thread, and have contributed immensely to the progress of this thread, while you’re a non-entity who seeks attention for the dopamine it gives you.

People should be wary of you instead, so you don’t scam unsuspecting strangers.

Expecting a reply back from me is tantamount to Snow falling in my backyard.

There’s your 30 minutes of cocaine inducing dopamine.

Now GTFOH.

It's those that believe the lies he posts here that I pity and those making him feel relevant. Quote me all you want, I won't quote u back.

Keep living in the fake world you've built for yourself. Whoever falls for his cheap scam will have themselves to blame.

The cheap world must be so expensive to maintain then, because everything and the impact I’ve made on this forum is verifiable.

Nairaland has given you a platform to spew abominations huh?

I bet you can say this to my face.

It's not a scam, I get gigs and it's not a fulltime thing for me. A lot of people just don't research into platforms. Most just assume they'll register and apply just like that, you have to possess a relevant skills, a good portfolio. Also good communication, what helps me is that I take each project very serious and customer centric. Getting gigs hard, but in my case I always make a reference to previous projects. Awesome Screen Recorder is my tool, so I have videos of previous extensions built to prove my competence.

For your field you will have to find out an appropriate format for showcasing competency.

I think LinkedIn has more chances than Upwork these days.

FALSE.

It does and that's not even something debatable, LinkedIn jobs offer relocation and more pay, if you don't know this, then you will be the only one not knowing then again I'm Tech so we might be an exception field.

In getting jobs with better pay, I agree with you that LinkedIn is better. Most clients on Upwork lowball freelancers because they know they can always get someone else to do the job for less, Only the "JJC" and enterprise clients pay freelancers really well. But IMO compared to Linkedin, Upwork still remains the best place for entry-levels to get a job, If they research and spend quality time experimenting with different proposals, bio, and portfolio formats.

Yes for entry-level people Upworks is good, but if you have experience LinkedIn is better, No Upwork gig is paying you 5000$ monthly.

is this a generalized view or a personal one?

Because I’ve had clients who’ve paid way more than $5000 for a single gig.

Matter of fact, my last gig of 21k for January was achieved with one client.

I am particularly choosy when it comes to clients, and I know low-ballers and tight fisted clients when I see one.

Go figure.

Those clients are an exception, the ratio of clients paying that much on Upwork is extremely rare compared to LinkedIn, it's why most freelancers do both, if anyone makes 21k on Upwork from one client then kudos to him/her
