I heard Adedibu used to say that he has never worked a day in his life and till he goes to his grave he would never work

I don't know much about this, but the man has confirmed political influence in Oyo state, what amuses me most about him, the man na illiterate. if the man is still alive I blv asiwaju will not have had much influence in the southwest as this.

People throw words all over the place. Kindly tell us one thing this man has ever done for mankind in that Oyo state. For example, I remember the old Odutola Tire place in Ibadan, Also, Adeola Odutola Grammar School in Ijebu Ode, now that was someone that left something for people to remember.

No vex Chairman
I don't even know him apart from what the internet and people say about him
I heard someone said he paid for shops for people , gave scholarships etc
So forums as this is for everyone to equip their knowledge of things, so your opinion is okay

Adedibu was a mere thug.

Adedibu narrated a story:
He accused governor lam adeshina of nothing giving him free money.
Adedibu then started trouble in ibadan attacked many governments vehicles and even seized some of them.
Lam adeshina went to aso rock to report adedibu action, obasanjo came to ibadan to intervene.
Adedibu said obasanjo told lam to be taking care of him.

Adedibu expected free money from governor from opponent party o.

Another stupid post.

"Such was the generous nature of the late politician that he occasionally doled out cash to those who were always around him on a good day. That was how he made his ‘people’ happy."

Is it the job of the polooticians to "occasionally dole out cash"?

Or to provide infrastrutures, amenities, schools, create inventive programs, tackle insecurity, inflation, improve cost of living, standard of living, rate of literacy etc.

No wonder you hear extremely foolish fools who mistake themselves as celebrities saying "I will vote for so-so-and-so because he was generous to me in year 2012, because he gave me a slot, because he enrolled me in this / that, because he gave me a shop as a widow"... Foolish slaves! Those are tangential unofficial acts -- its personal, its not his job. If he does that for 5,000 people, remember there's about 5 million people on average in each state in Liejeriya. So what happens to d rest? E ti sinwin...

Nonsense!

If you had read well, you would have seen he didn’t hold any political office… so, he’s supposed to build bridges on behalf of who?

Typing without summoning your brain.

Before his death arisekola asked for forgiveness from ladoja for his removal as governor, arisekola said it was obasanjo that forced him and alaafin to work against ladoja. One need federal power to remove the governor that way.

Search for arisekola statements online.

Thanks for this information

The day adedibu died, ibadan people or in fact many people across board celebrated and were joyful.
It was a remarkable day.
He was thorn in the flesh and a scourge to ibadan people and yorubas in general.

Tinubu is a learner where Pa Adedibu dey.

Death kills loyalty.

/

Adedibu was just an illiterate old politician using thugs to intimidate politicians or government for selfish interests. He has no political influence/values outside Ibadan, let alone other states. He has never founded a political party, non contesting in any election. He was nothing other than using thugs to rig elections for the highest bidders. He has no political legacy, principle and ideology.

Is this same person you are comparing with Tunubu?

This story has sent me down a rabbit hole tonight. I mean I've always heard of Baba Adedibu and his Amala politics.

I've also read about his open and brash demand for compensation as the political kingmaker of Ibadan.

I've also stumbled on Aare Arisekola life and times.

I always pass the beautiful Arisekola mosque at Idi-Ape. It's nice knowing the man behind the edifice.

I also understand a little why current Governor Seyi Makinde has another Lamidi by his side.

Maybe the name Lamidi is a very powerful name in Ibadan politics. grin grin grin

Is Adedibu a private citizen responsible to give you job?! From birth till death he never held a single Political office yet helped people in private capacity

Where did he get the money for the free food, drinks, wines and merriment, if not from political office holders who should have employed enough workers for government services, utilities, facilities and infrastructure maintenance that will create the enabling environment for private sector businesses to flourish and employ even more people?

Is that not what oyinbos are doing for Adedibu’s family to japa there to suffer racism and rejection while bragging to the unfortunate Nigerians left behind in our country that life is all rosy?

America’s black upper class and Black Lives Matter

For Mrs Brown, BLM is “representative of the civil-rights movement, with a new name”. She praises protesters for their “vigilance” and for stirring public—including white—concern over matters that were previously ignored. But BLM, in her view, is just one of a “wonderful plethora” of groups, clubs, sororities, voter-registration outfits and charities: “We need different people doing different things.”

Lerry Knox, a wealthy Chicagoan who runs an international infrastructure-investment fund, and Farissa Knox, who runs an ad agency, also in Chicago, see it in a similar light. The ongoing blm debate “over white supremacy” is welcome. “I support what BLM is doing. It’s a narrative that needs to be spoken,” says Mrs Knox. But the couple prefer to *invest their personal funds and time in local groups that educate* black residents on the benefits of completing census forms, sitting for jury duty and, especially, registering to vote. Structural changes, they say, will come from institutions, including the companies they lead, or from judicial reform and getting new people elected to office. Rage voiced on the streets can dissipate fast.

Yet even the wealthiest align with street protesters in their fury over threats and harassment from police. Mr Knox is blunt about the risks any African-American man faces in public. Mr Graham recounts being stopped and hounded by a plainclothes policeman near his home, while collecting his daughter from school—even though he was the chairman of his county police board. He describes how rich black families, on moving into mostly white neighbourhoods, learn to visit local police stations to hand out photos of their families, in an effort to stave off trouble. “We have to be proactive,” he says. “It is absolutely demeaning to act in this way, but we have too many stories of what happens when you don’t. Don’t assume we’ve bought our way out of this treatment.”

I don't know him, in as much as i just read how powerful he was with his thugs, assisting those around him with food and cash.

Well that is not what governance is all about, if this is how western countries ruled their people, then they wouldn't have gotten to where they are now.

Africa is so cursed that we behave like animals.

Monies meant for capital projects to build infrastructures are used in feeding only those around him with amala, haba.... Who do us this thing?
