I rejoice with every Nigerian that accept new monetary policy as a welcome development. Also sympathise with Nigerians that are going through tough times due to the policy.

Relief is coming.

But na true na. If I get any huge amount of old notes in my custody, I will not wait till 10th sef before depositing it.

Nigeria na jungle; Like we've seen Buhari's government disobey court orders at different times in the past. I won't take the gamble of expecting Buhari to obey court order at all cos na my hard earned money dey at risk.

So all the politicians wailing and shouting yesterday, have suddenly lost their voices after Buhari spoke?

The fear of losing Northern votes is the beginning of humility of every politician.

It's still kinda surreal that Buhari really wants a free and fair election this time.

The kind precedent Buhari and his party has set during his tenure eh... A whole supreme court is being used as a pawn between party factions angry

*Rejected Land Allocated to him when he was Governor.
*Rejected Oil Well from PDP Government in 2015.

What other qualities do you need, a selfless Nigerian who has always put Nigerians first and served with fear of God.

This is the man that would turn this APC badly damaged Country around back to greatness.

If dem like, make dem pack off all Naira Notes, Tinubu will still emerge as next President.

This is same Ibadan that was almost burnt down yesterday due to Naira scarcity.

Ibadan was on fire yesterday, even though the SC extended the deadline.

You would expect more protests even after Buhari had not just defied the order, but made it clear that 1000 and 500 will become baby wipes soon.

Guess what? No protests again. Rather, the aggrieved ones have strength to attend rallies sef.

Buhari na miracle worker, finally

The man is a goddamn saint! Like a beautified saint by his holiness standards..

Many didn't know about these things because he just doesn't toot his own horns! We just randomly get to hear about his wonderful past from time to time. Who could have thought that Obi would mesmerize even the hardest dictator Nigeria has ever had and win a position via sheer brilliance??

We've stumbled upon a rare gem my people..
We cannot let this opportunity pass.

The same people who called us Wailing Wailers all over Nairaland and social media for rejecting Buhari in 2015 and 2019 are wailing more than us.

I've been passive aggressively 'liking' old Nigerian political trolling and arguments by others in exchanges with me pre, ante and post 2015. Thankfully, Facebook has more advanced search features now. Many are deleting their comments when I 'like'.

You called us young and naive when we showed you Buhari's documented antecedence of misrule in the 80's. You said we weren't born then so ignorant. You told us he's changed and you know better us. History doesn't matter.

Now who's naive? You've ended up wailing criticizing Buhari this month alone than some of us have in the last one year.

You've continued that circle by campaigning for an even more corrupt and frail Tinubu to be President. I'm done telling anyone not to vote for Tinubu except keep campaigning for Obi who's the best of them.

Time and fate remain undefeated. Your families are unsafe. They could be killed at any point and there's nothing you can do to protect them. Your cousins are sleeping at fueling stations. Your mothers are queuing at the banks for new notes and buying naira. Just like in the 1980's. Let's see how you can shield them from all these now?

Your loved ones would be touched.
You will all learn! smiley

Interesting piece from the economist.

His own record as a two-term governor of Anambra state is encouraging. When he took office in 2006 the state was running fiscal deficits and services were deteriorating as measured by the Human Development Index (hdi), which looks at indicators including income, education and life expectancy. At the conclusion of his second term he left the state with a fiscal surplus and it was ranked third in Nigeria by hdi.

“Obi, obi, obi” chants the bouncing crowd, fists in the air, as Peter Obi strides into a campaign rally after having unexpectedly taken a lead in the race to become the next president of Nigeria. The outcome of the election, scheduled for February 25th, will reverberate far beyond Nigeria’s borders. A free and fair vote in the continent’s biggest democracy would send a telling signal across Africa, where freedom is in retreat in a number of countries after a spate of coups, rigged votes and the abandonment of presidential term limits.

The stakes in this race are especially high for Nigeria, too. Africa’s biggest economy—and home to roughly one in six Africans—is in a deep malaise, with incomes stagnant and poverty, especially in the rural north, at shockingly high levels. And the country risks sliding into ungovernability. Although not yet a failed state, large parts of Nigeria are failing, sending instability spilling over its borders and dragging down the region’s economy. Last year about 10,000 people were killed in violent conflicts. Some of the country’s biggest problems stem from at least four overlapping security crises.

Every single person at the area I was picked race. Soldiers are not friendly people.

This does not negate your thoughts that politician may have been behind the protest yesterday. It was not really coordinated, but it did spread fast.
