Hello everyone, Thanks for taking out time to help others by sharing your knowledge and experiences. Please is there any group or threads for the province of British Columbia or Vancouver in particular? I will be moving to Vancouver sometime in April and will like to learn about the housing situation, living cost, transportation etc from those who have lived there or are currently living there. |

sunkyrazzy: Hi, I used an agent online to get a place. Had to register on the site with a small fee (Re/max). Didn’t use a WhatsApp link or specific group. However, your school may have an accommodation group on WhatsApp if you are coming to study. You can ask the school |

Margs: Ohhh that's cool, mind sharing the agent contact. I'm not sure my school has an accommodation group. |

Hello everyone, Pls who is/knows someone studying/has studied the compressed nursing program at Lakehead university? I would like to ask about the program and the school. I would also like to know how it is living in Thunder bay, Ontario. I haven't found much info from nigerians living or studying there. Kindly help a sister. I need to make up my mind between going for the BSN nursing in Lakehead university (Thunder bay) or practical nursing in Alberta. Nb: my kids will be joining me too Thank you as I await your responses |

Margs: Thank you for sharing your experience and advice but Joining local immigrant WhatsApp groups can be an excellent way to connect with others in your community and potentially find job and other opportunities, in addition to receiving accommodation suggestions. It's always helpful to have a network of support when settling into a new place. I arrived in Canada a few years ago, and my first job came from a recommendation I received through an African immigrant group that I had joined with other professionals. Therefore, no matter how wealthy you are, it's essential not to disconnect yourself from your society. Genuine networking is critical in Canada, especially for new immigrants. Please don't hesitate to seek out these support networks as they can be immensely valuable. 3 Likes |
