Incessant Attacks: Banks To Be Shut From Monday by Kwanza: 10:05pm On Feb 17, 2023
The Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions (ASSBIFI) has directed all bank workers to stay away from work.

The directive is coming as more bank branches come under attack by hoodlums across the country owing to the current naira scarcity.

The association had on Thursday during a media briefing in Lagos, warned that it might be forced to direct its members to stay away from work if the attacks on banks and their staff were not immediately halted by the government and concerned security authorities.

In a follow-up statement signed by Olusoji Oluwole, ASSBIFI’s national President and dates February 17, the association said it’s National Secretariat has been inundated with reports of threats and attacks on lives and properties of members and bank branches.

The letter with reference ANS/IIR/JA/OP/5018 and addressed to all Unit President and Secretaries was titled, “Stay at home order.”

It reads, “The National Secretariat has been inundated with reports of threats and attacks on lives and properties of members and bank branches, and subsequently has been on the field to monitor and confirm the reports.

“We issued warnings and appeals to Government to provide security measure for the safety of lives and properties of our members within and around the bank premises, but regrettably the attacks have continued without any form of security for the safety of our Members, and the recent being the attack today. Friday 17 February 2023 on one bank branch at Epe. Lagos State.

“We cannot leave the lives and properties of our members exposed to obvious danger.

“Consequently, All members should today immediately stay away from work in any state where bank branches are attacked. This is to continue every day until normalcy is restored.

“Please Note, you will be availed further directives as events develop.”

Some quarters have argued that they want to install an interim government. I believe them with the recent happening. Sadly, the president doesn't care.

This monetary policy is not meant for free and fair election as we were made to believe. Votes buying is lesser evil to election violent which is already cooked and done. I am not seeing any credible election under this circumstances.

The Nigerian army have lots of accountants.

They can take over the banks and continue dispensing cash to the public

The CBN have all the bank data in their system ..

They only need to take over the banks and dispense cash .. they can be assisted by military accountants

You should pity only your miserable self!

Why are you attacking the banks??
If you actually have money in the banks, can't you do transfer or pay with card where necessary?
The truth is that you're fighting this war for the criminal and corrupt Tinubu, and the rest of us won't join in the madness

Nigerians are very stubborn set of people!

You were given 3months notice to deposit your old note but, refused believing there most be extension of deadline.

If Buhari like, let him extend the deadline to the next 10years, some people will still wait for die minute.

Is only dull brains that doesn't know that El-rufai is fighting for his personal pocket.

CBN and Banks messed the whole exercise up by not distributing the new Naira notes quickly and aggressively. I still find fault with the timing but the ship has already sailed.

Another low IQ clown with nothing to offer than miserable low level sentiments .if you don't have the range to understand what I have said then say so..

Buhari wakes up lies to low intelligent characters like you that some politicians have stashed money in houses to buy vote and this is his solution:

1.To shabily pull out 3 trillion naira if old notes out of the economy .
2. Fails to replace them with 3 trillion of the new notes but instead under prints only 300 billion naira of the new notes .

3 : triggers a needless cash scarcity which inturn triggers a cash stampede by helpless NIGERIANs looking for cash in an economy where 40 percent still remain unbanked .

4.. Lies to the stampeding Nigerian that he has released enough money to banks when he has not which in turn pitches the masses against innocent bankers and the masses start getting aggressive against banks and at same time start a bank run which starts to hurt the banking industry.

5.. does not give bank enough time to scale the capacity of the the National electronic transaction switches being run by NIBBs so suddenly overnight demand for E- transaction grow by over 100 folds and the NIBBs capacity can't handle it smoothly leaving the entire system overwhelmed

6. And he is doing all this just weeks to a major National election.

7 . On Monday Bank workers are starting to withdraw their services which will deal more blows to the already weakened economy failed church rats like you are already struggling to survive in but since your brain is small you believe it's okay to suffer as long as Tinubu suffers 😅.. but in reality both has really affected Tinubu

Buhari is not killing anything. Nigerians have endure COVID-19 and bad leadership of APC for 8yrs now. So few weeks of naira swap won't be an exception or kill Nigerians.

Bank closing is safe to avoid further damage on their property.

More money can not be inject into the country when some people are still hoarding half of the old note with them. The amount of old notes CBN is expected to come back is less than what came in. So the deadline is necessary to allow people hoarding the old notes brings it out before circulating the new ones.

Let him kill it Nigerians don't care.
You hypocrites have been supporting the evil government's policies until recently that it has become obvious that your criminally minded, peeing, puhpuhing, microphone licking, druglord is going to lose woefully.
Even if Nigeria is destroyed, Nigerians don't care as long as a known drug baron and his terrorist vice president do not rule Nigeria.

You people keep allowing Cunning Buhari to deceive y'all ...ask yourself what is vote buying? Its a total ruse in democracy and that's why the law allows only biological adults to vote ...Any adult is free to chose any fucking reason why he wants to vote for someone..If someone says the reason he wants to vote for Tinubu is because he will give him 5k it's non of our business and if you want to vote for Obi because you think he will fix the road to your village then it's also nobodys business afterall we must all vote fro a reason , the reason Agbados want to vote their candidate should be none of your business as long as the don't disenfranchise you in the process of doing so
