there is report of uk immigration deporting people at the point of entry. Especially those that used paid agent to get work and cos. Without following due process.

A lot of people make use of this thread and it's always not good enough when you post an unverified information here.

Ever heard of recruiting agencies or employment agencies? It's an organization which matches employers to employees and they're very much legal in all countries.

Everyone who got their COS through recruiting agencies submitted their CV and did a normal interview.

Baba, forget talk. U never jam better link ni o. We now have many road side mechanics now calling themselves agents giving cos wey no get work to people . Probably, u or ur contacts fell into one of those people hand. Just like one dude said in the previous page that he got to UK and those agents sef no fear anything as he wanted to report them. Now, if those ones process u cos, ask urself, how won't they send back such candidate wey just get cos without work? Cos at the point of entry. They might scrutinised u and the company ure going to work aswell.

Hello Everyone, my visa is out!! Thank you God and thanks to all who responded to my questions.
Timeline:
Job offer: November 2021, senior care worker
Cos: February 2022
Biometrics: 23 March 2022
Collected passport today.

I have been a silent reader for some time now and I can see that it is not very easy getting a job. I want to share my experience and I hope it can be of help.

I reside in Nigeria and I got this job through networking, basically through a family member in the UK. I do not have a health degree or certification. I was introduced to my employer and one key thing he asked me was if I could drive and I said yes. He basically wanted to know if I genuinely wanted to work as a carer. Afterwards, came the job offer. At that time they had just applied for their sponsorship license. I was asked to submit my passport data page in February and shortly after I was sent my Cos.
I did my TB test, got police clearance and the rest is history.
When it came to visa application I was worried because I didn't have any care certification but my employer told me I would be trained so that was not a problem.

One thing I try to do for all my visa applications is to keep it simple. Hence, documents I submitted are:
Cos, TB cert, Police cert, marriage certificate, UK MSc degree as proof of english, previous visas and travel history. Disclaimer: there are no hard and fast rule to this, submit documents according to your individual circumstances and follow what's on the ukvi website.

Based on my experience one thing I can advice is network, network and network with those you know in the UK, this is one way people get jobs, not just in health care but other sectors.
Secondly I noticed ability to drive is a major criteria, so if you don't know how to drive, you can learn. Although my employer mentioned that wages are higher for those who drive.

I hope my long epistle is helpful, I may not be able to answer all questions, but I will try as much as I can to give answers.

I hope my congratulatory message is not too late. πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ. I would like to ask if there are any Immigration questions at the POE to be answered. I would be traveling first week in March.

Thank you.

Goodday Honourable's,

In a layman's words -

Collection mail as it depicts is a message requesting you to come for your passport.

BRP mail is a document explaining your type of visa, stating the number of years, terms and conditions guiding your visa. That mail/document can be called your VISA while the sticker on your passport can be termed approval to go and collect your VISA. If you don't have the BRP, it is not advisable you travel.

That is not a direct flight. you will have a stop over at Istanbul. Yes you get to London through Turkish airline. i think they are one of the cheapest airline to travel with

All I can say is compare flight fares on wakanow. You will get good deals. Maybe not direct flight but definitely fare prices.

Please, I need your input and that of others.I'm asking for a friend as this was not exactly my case. My friend's husband got a job and applied for tier2 visa along side the wife. The husband has resumed work but wifey still in naija with kids. They did not apply with kids cos the kids passports were not ready. It is ready now and she wants to apply for the kids( she has been granted her visa). When she clicked on apply as child, there is confusion of how to fill. There is a column for personal info, partner and dependents details. 1.is the personal info supposed to be the wife who already has her visa( she is trying to apply for her children? Please, I will appreciate clarification on this
2. For accommodation, the Hubby stays in a shared apartment, what should be filled for the kids application? Of course, the Hubby is house hunting already
Thanks

The UK government has published a list of occupations on its website:

Generalkoke:
Dee1504 Uzland Have been in the Uk for two months my employer keeps posting me about job provision,with no certain start date in place infact I believe they have nothing no job to give..it’s two months now No steady income through my NI& tax ain’t being paid too..After complaining employer said I can pay 244pounds for them to pay the government my tax and my ni.with full salary slip issued in the process..Can the visa be revoked when salary is not flowing?
Hello Generalkoke, it's so sad to learn about this.angry However, it's the ugly reality some have found themselves in. You'll have to apply great wisdom in how you choose to go about this, cos if you get into a confrontation with your current employer, they may withdraw/revoke your CoS and you know what it means - for them, they may just face a fine or loss of their sponsorship licence; for you it may mean having to go back to Naija.

If you wish to pursue it legally and need some guidance, you may seek professional counsel from a labour-matters or immigration lawyer. First of all, you may have to write an official letter to the complaints unit of your company to formally appeal your redundancy, and follow your company's rules for making such complaints.

Also, you can enquire about labour unions, such as Unison, that may be able to assist you in fighting for your rights. I've specifically searched and found the links below which I hope would provide useful information and assistance to you and others:
-> https://www.acas.org.uk/your-rights-during-redundancy/appeal-a-redundancy-decision
-> https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/work/discrimination-at-work/discrimination-at-work/checking-if-its-discrimination/check-if-your-problem-at-work-is-discrimination/
-> https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/work/dismissal/check-your-rights-if-youre-dismissed/dismissal/check-if-your-dismissal-is-fair/

However, at this point, my advice to you, and others in similar situations, is to fall back to aggressive job hunting...
In addition to the suggestion already made by Dee1504, you may also wish to check out your current local county council's careers website and apply for social care jobs, or any other shortage occupation that you're qualified for. You can also apply to other nearby county councils and/or CIC organizations, in case there are no SWV eligible roles in your current local coucil. Most of them are willing to take people, especially in-country candidates with a valid driving licence, for community support worker roles. I wish you all the best of luck.πŸ™

PS: Please do keep us updated on your progress.

Good day house, please I'm to fill a post employment form given to me by my employer. In the health question, A yes or no question is asked about High blood pressure which I've had in the past but has been stable for months now. Should I declare the past issue or I should leave it as a No? Thank you all.
