Nigeria is a 3rd World country!! Do you only Love and care will help raise Useful Children? I doubt!!
Yes. I know parents that never caned their children, and those children grew up into responsible adults.

You can't raise children that are emotionally and physically healthy by depending solely on caning them.

There's a higher risk of exposing the kids to trauma and abuse by using corporal punishment such as caning.

If caning is so effective, many countries around the world whose systems of education are much more effective than African countries wouldn't have abolished it.

It's unhealthy and unwise to expose an innocent child to corporal punishment from frustrated teachers we've all around who unleash their anger on kids in the name of discipline.

he is stll young!! Even the bible recommended "spare the rod and spoil the child"

I have a close friend who was never beaten by his dad and very rarely by his mum.

He and his siblings turned out quite alright.

Beating a child may not necessarily stop them from doing what made you beat them, they will only make sure you don't find out next time.

My view is that we are a product of our environment and the friends we kept while growing up and not necessarily because we were beaten.

Africa is corrupt and Lawless because of Poverty!!! However there are Limits to using cane to correct a child! I never said Brutalise a child in form of correction

And it demonstrates that there are long term consequences. A beating Las Las is five minutes. A withdrawn privilege can be days or weeks or months

Exactly. I was even waiting to read your opinion on the issue since your children are much older.

Who wrote the bible? Africans??
Experts of early childhood education don't rely on your Bible to know the most effective way of disciplining a child. They use solid evidence and data obtained from years of studies in biology, early childhood education, and medicine.

There are many teachings in the Bible that are dated, one of which is caning. That's why it has been abolished in many First-World countries.

Baba at this point I believe it's exhausting trying to convince anybody again. If the travails of the last 8 years has not taught the common man(not party faithfuls o) a lesson, nothing else will.

I engaged an elderly woman yesterday(She's a senior civil servant who works in the ministry of education). She was heaping curses on Emefiele for the woes of the common man due to the naira redesign and all. Then I told her it appears her curses are misdirected/not all inclusive cos I don't think she listened to Buhari's broadcast. She agreed she didn't listen.

Then I told her to try and check it out or read the manuscript. She should watch how Buhari used "I" first person singular pronoun in most parts where he talked about the policy. He kept on saying "I authorised", " I consulted", "I directed"... etc. I told her Buhari did it and owned it with his chest that maybe she should think about that.

This woman then went on another round of curses directed at Buhari and started talking about how he is doing all of this to sabotage "asiwaju" and he will be put to shame in Jesus name. She then ranted about how Buhari has misruled us for 8 years and that she has a 2018 graduate in her house which she still feeds cos he couldn't get a job under this Buhari administration ( Surprisingly she voted Buhari for second term in 2019 o; I discovered this from her asiwaju talks)

Guess what? She is determined to vote asiwaju of APC in 2023 and believes he will win cos he will get sympathy votes from people who feel he's being persecuted. She went on to talk about never contemplating voting Obi cos she isn't "Ọmọ àlè". Only an ọmọ àlè will vote for Obi leaving Tinubu. She is not interested in whatever he wants to do. At this point I knew my job was done.

What even intrigued me more about her was that she confessed she has relocated her PVC to somewhere on the island cos she wants to vote for a certain house of reps APC candidate whom she wants to win.(God knows whatever promise that person might have promised her and the political group she is leaning towards). She said her husband was even concerned that this one she's carrying the election matter for head as if any of her family members were on the ballot.

Now imagine the length that woman would go to vote APC back into power despite complaining of suffering under the same APC government.... There's no level of enlightenment that would make that woman not vote APC, she's made her mind up.

In Nigeria I believe the people know the truth but the truth didn't make them free. Why? Because they don't want to be free!

Sometimes I think regardless of prayers, God gives people a right and freedom to choose their leaders. Same way the Israelites cried out for Saul instead of the leadership of God and his prophets.

If Nigerians willingly vote for APC again, they deserve everything they get.

Just that everyone will suffer for the decision of the majority.

How do you know those parents never caned their children? Caning as a means of correction is different form physical abuse!

What are they? Where's your evidence?
