Your story made me remember one small boy when growing up he hated food. To eat small food will take hours. He only wanted sweet and light snacks. And he was growing lean and bony.

The parents were so worried gave him vitamins folic acid, Vitamin B complex went to hospital he still didn't eat and he was malnourished and pale

The father even though he knew the problem will still stylishly blame the mother that are we going to be looking till this child dies under our roof

The mother between her own tears and cane that's the only way she could get him to eat. Even semi solid like Ogi he won't eat

What denial of privilege do you think that woman can do at that time that will make the boy eat. They probably knew beating was not going to work but what options beside the cane can the woman have used. Child rearing like everything in life reality is different from theory and things are taken in a case by case basis. There are some children you don't need to beat and I have seen some friends kids that I felt cane needs to be on the options

For me I will say Cane shouldn't be the first 2nd or 3rd option but let the child knows its an option though in your mind you know you won't use it

Maturity matters a lot sha. Its not by age though, but by being wise and sensible.

Itrsm supported Atiku, today he is supporting Obi. None of Batists crucifies him and we are still flowing here as Brothers.

The story of the boy was just like mine, just that my parents weren't really worried about it. My dad believes if a child doesn't want to eat then it's most likely he's not hungry, he believes a person who is hungry will surely call for food.

It was when his folks came to stay with us that they made a big deal out of it. They felt my mum spoilt me and that when a child says no to something the parent must insist. Some of the food I dislike eating growing up they tried to force me eat them but it never really worked. The few times they succeeded I ended throwing it all up. They later left me and with time my eating habits improved sha as I continued to grow.

Like u said, there's no 1 straight way of raising a child. Parents just keep trying hoping their efforts will yield result
