I think the trouble with most parents in Nigeria talking about the old school kind is always using physical punishment as discipline for every situation. I think spanking should only be used as a last resort that will make the child understand that they messed up badly but truth be told most times na prayers. You can beat your child like a runaway slave yet he turns out to be worse than Escobar others can be super indulgent with theirs yet he is more saintly than Mother Theresa.
