Virginia governor blocks bill banning police from seeking menstrual histories.

The Republican governor of Virginia, Glenn Youngkin, appears to have thwarted an attempt to stop law enforcement obtaining menstrual histories of women in the state.

A bill passed in the Democratic-led state senate, and supported by half the chamber’s Republicans, would have banned search warrants for menstrual data stored in tracking apps on mobile phones or other electronic devices.

Youngkin essentially killed the bill through a procedural move in a subcommittee of the Republican-controlled House. Citing unspecified future threats to the ability of law enforcement to investigate crimes.

Huh? Take a step back and tell me what you are arguing here. I'm not sure you understand the argument you are making. And how far should one take your argument?

I cannot believe you asked me why I was concerned about the vaccine since I'm not a doctor or vaccine researcher. I cannot believe someone seriously typed that with a straight face.

IjeBos:

Listen, she's not only a close friend who I TRUST like a sister, but someone who I also think is BRILLIANT. The type of person who reads articles of her field in the New England Journal of Medicine for fun. So, there is a point where you have to let go and let God or get a PHD or relative expertise in the field so you can argue back. But right now why do you suppose you have the qualification to argue with someone who has spent close to 9 years in top schools studying her craft? Fam, that's ego.

This is extremely disappointing to hear. The way you default to appeals to authority shows why you hold the views you do.

Like I said, your friend works for a company. Even if she doesn't intend to mislead you, it is still entirely possible that she probably isn't privy to all the complete picture of the company's dealings.

Also, Pfizer has paid billions of dollars in fines for shady practices before so why should I follow what they say like a sheep? Why shouldn't I weigh my options and wait for more information to come out before making an informed decision?

However, unlike American yong voters that turned out for the Democrats, I highly doubt Nigerian young voter will turn out. Even on Nairaland, Zekensky, Putin and Joe Biden is their problem.

That's not true, unless your entire Nairaland is the American Politics Thread. Step out of the foreign Section and you'd be Obi spammed.

As for turning out and voting for him, we'll know on election day.

Frontpage is whatever a few mods want to push in your face, and we've found some of them to be Tinubu urchins trying to cover up Obi's popularity.

They even had an anti-obi advert till ṣeun was made to tear it down.

Ex. You "feel" the air outside is poisonous. Experts test it, measure it and tell you it's not. Because it's your body and you care about your health, do you never go outside again? You see where your argument ends up.

Honestly, you will be never be able to make a fully informed decision. The data you get comes from somewhere else. The interpretation of that data comes from somewhere else. As I was saying unless you have expertise in this stuff, you'll always be at the mercy of someone else. So, the key is doing all the research you can and finding the people to trust. And I would start by not trusting people who got the Vaccine and are now trying to dissuade people to not get it (Like all Fox News hosts).

I think you should also review your "appeals to authority fallacy". It's often incorrectly interpreted in this thread.

I am voting for PO to satisfy my conscience, but truth be told, it would be a miracle for PO to win the election. The young people spent too much time campaigning on SM and also focused a lot of their time on irrelevant stuffs in SM as well. We haven't really learnt our lessons.

How would you know what hospice is, did you go to school? Hahaha. See this wretched son of a street pauper who barely understands the English language wanting to rub shoulders with a coliseum of Lagos like me. Little rat, I will exterminate you on this forum and don’t think I’ve forgotten about the promise I made if you make the mistake of setting foot in Lagos. You will see me face to face then let’s see how big your mouth is then.

Gay boy with the cute little princess pink leggings. I bet white boy really enjoyed you’re fruity ass that night grin

Mr. Top G. I'm not sure what's happening with these pictures. You're trying to show your wealth so you're posting pics of eggs at 3am… in a filthy fridge? Eggs? I know there's a recession, are Eggs that expensive now? And you do know that black stuff on the door of your fridge is probably mold right? And you eat out of that? The "Top G" Academy didn't have a class on cleanliness? And then to show you're not a fatty you post 10 year old pics with suits that look like you got them from your village market. Do they even make clothes that ill-fitting anymore? I'm sure your "Top G" academy had a class on style. FYI: Lapel pins and pocket squares should both be on the left side. Stop embarrassing yourself. Was that "your" first time wearing a suit?

Words of wisdom: There are levels of life. You get to a level of life esp. in Nigeria where you can afford to create your own economy and can rely on services. Things like cleaners to clean your filthy place, cooks - so you're not eating trash at 3am, Tailors - so you can order MTM/custom suits or have the clothes you buy properly fitted, Barbers and the Nail Salon - to help with your filthy nails, drivers - well you would have to have your own car- you wouldn't be able to get them for your friend's cars you like talking pictures of etc. etc. All things that are relatively inexpensive in Nigeria, that you clearly don't have. So, instead of saying you're going buy someone… start with trying to buy a cleaner.

You're an adult - you have gray hairs. Spend less time trolling/lying online and more time building your life and cleaning it too. Here's an idea, on Sat morning instead of reading my posts from 2017, clean your filthy apartment. Start with that mold in your fridge; It's not healthy. I'm sure Andrew Tate and the "Top G" Academy would be disappointed you're a graduate.

It's Sunday so I'm heading to church. Don't worry I'll ask forgiveness for Abusing you.

Cut the oxygen supply completely.

Oh, we're making up hyperbolic scenarios to discredit each other now? Let me try.

Person A sees studies downplaying the negative effects sugar. Person A trusts the science and stuffs his face with it while Person B expresses skepticism and tries to find more info on the source of the study and who funded it. It was Coca Cola
https://www.ucsusa.org/resources/how-coca-cola-disguised-its-influence-science-about-sugar-and-health

Person A calls Person B a conspiracy theorist online, getting him banned from social media.

Fast forward two decades later, Person A, now 130kg, succumbs to heart failure at 42. On his deathbed he smiles smugly to himself thinking, "I followed the science". Person B, a conspiracy theorist and decidedly not a doctor, jogs past the hospital with his two kids.

Do you also distrust the American Heart Association? The science was not settled and the full range of side-effects of the vaccine were not yet known.

I belong to a demographic where the virus has a <1% mortality rate (this has been known for a long time), now it has been found that the vaccine increases the risk of myocarditis in that same demographic and the risk continues to increase with each subsequent booster shot. I now know that I don't need the vaccine given my age and fitness level.

Thanks for being a good guinea pig for me, though.
