What you guys fail to acknowledge is that science inherently Has a self correcting mechanism. It relies on data. The more accurate the data, the more accurate the findings. The earth can be flat for 5,000 years, but once new data comes from a new invention called the telescope, it becomes round/sphere. Same for gravity. Gravity was a force that pulls objects together for over 200 years, but once data came from space observations by telescopes (again), it no longer a force but a warping of space-time.
Let me add one more example; For over 5000 years leprosy, rabies and diseases were caused by demons and spirits, but with invention of microscope, new data became available and diseases came to be caused by bacteria, viruses, protozoans, fungi, etc.

Covid19 was a novel corona virus, as more people got infected more data was obtained and more accurate predictions ( and vaccines) were made. Yes there might have been a few errors and contradictions in the beginning due to limited data, but as millions of people got infected and more scientists got involved, the facts became clearer.
We still have no choice but to rely on the experts instead of our gut instincts or media and political opinion leaders.

I belong to a demographic where the virus has a <1% mortality rate (this has been known for a long time), now it has been found that the vaccine increases the risk of myocarditis in that same demographic and the risk continues to increase with each subsequent booster shot. I now know that I don't need the vaccine given my age and fitness level.

Your point is flawed. The University of Colorado wasn't and isn't the end all and be all of that research on Sugar. In fact other institutions, more prominent institutions wrote otherwise. Coca Cola wanted to have a counter point/narrative and they found/funded one. But I think ur scenario makes my point. You can't look at one select instance, pro or con, you should look at the collective wisdom from people in the know. What you are doing is listening to random people online, lying at that.
