centje: well,he still has roughly 3 more years to go. I hope you wont be disappointed if he turns things around. I want to be dissapointed afterall its for our own good. But to be honest, am not optimistic based on his antecedents. He has a bad record. |

He said, “Kabiyesi and his chiefs can continue to lead us, let them deal with all those traditional and chieftaincy issues. At the appropriate time, we will come and join them, but for now, leave us in our suits, boots (sic), overalls and helmets, because this agbada is not good for clearing refuse and tarring the roads.” Very funny, but so true. |

obadiah777: nigerians are easily impressed. benjamin zephaniah rejected an OBE from the queen of england. nobody asked him to contest for anything. Lmao.. I like that... Benjamin Zephaniah is a legend, he has to moved to a country in the middle east - he's an upright and highly educated black man who didn't sell his soul... Don't compare Benjamin Zephaniah with Fashola, he thumps him in everything... Oniru is a small Ijebu king, who made billions in the property business vis-a-vis selling 'Iru land', so there's really nothing special in the chieftaincy title that he rejected... This Fashola guy is just a guy with 'one eye' in the land of the 'blind' - there's nothing special about him... Lagos is a very rich state, yet he has refused to build low cost houses for the poor indigenes... I don't really rate him that much.. 1 Like |

BRF is by far the most ideally suitable presidential candidate there can be at this moment. With the great work he's done and the giant strides he's leaped in the past 6years, he's no doubt TOK for presidency come 2015. However, from what is on ground and our antecedents, don't be surprised he wouldn't win! Why? Pretty obvious, Nigerians are bigots and two-timers. They'd rather vote for their kinsman who is incompetent as against sb with a track-record as BRF. Without any gain-saying, BRF'd get 99% of votes in the S/W, but what of other regions? Another problem to envisage is, Fashola won't "share money" and history shows the money sharers have always skimmed a large portion of votes. N500 na big money during campaign o! The way out may be to form a coalition and pick a running mate. From which region? Another wahala Option two is to wait awhile, go to the senate and drum up support. But this option may be risky as Nigerians forget easily and hoping he wouldn't get caught in the massive thievery up there. So please, Gov. BRF, put on your thinking cap, we're solidly behind you! 2 Likes |

I'm from Lagos and I have a right to critique the Fashola guy... Jakande built millions(thousands) of low cost houses for poor Lagosians with smaller funds and within a shorter period - what has Fashola done for crying out loud with more funds, and he has been there like forever?? I just can't stand capitalists who blow their own trumpets, he's mediocre, nothing special... |

Re: Fashola Declines Oba’s Chieftaincy Title by Nobody: 1:30pm On Sep 09, 2012 |
Delafruita: Can you post pictures of the low cost houses he built Not the expensive ones Eko Ile posted on NL.. Where are the houses? Most of the ones he built were sold to family members and associates.. The indigenes are getting pushed out of their home state because of his elitist megacity dream... They have moved from Lekki, to Ajah - and soon they're going to start pushing to Epe... What is he doing to help the poor indigenes who live in those axis?? Or is he going to push them out of their ancestry land to accommodate the rich Nigerians? |

shymexx: I'm from Lagos and I have a right to critique the Fashola guy... Shymexx relax. He's been doing that, Fashola is not just a noise-maker. There is even a very fine one in your hometown, another at Ikorodu and some other locations I can't recall now. |

I was there and that's not what he said: Fashola said when he got an invite from Oniru's son(Prince segun Oniru who happens to b a commisioner in his cabinet) he asked him what the event was about and if it happened to b a chieftaincy title he would not attend. You made it sound as if he was given a title and he rejected it. |

A man with a brain. A man with a vision. A man that understands symbolic leadership. A man that understands inspirational leadership. Yet fucktards like Jonathan are ruling the Nation. |

The governor has done the right thing by politely rejecting the greek gift from the monarch. However, let him ban all lagos state civil and public servants from accepting unnecessary and undeserving chieftancy titles. It is another secret avenue for stealing public fund. I hope other leaders will emulate BRF. Eko o ni baje o. |

Re: Fashola Declines Oba’s Chieftaincy Title by Nobody: 1:42pm On Sep 09, 2012 |
Seriously, if Fashola can't look into the plight of the indigenes, or provide low cost houses for them in their ancestry land - he needs to take his megacity pipe dreams to the mainland, and develop the cesspit there... This bs is just same thing the British colonialists did to the aboriginal people of Australia... |

Re: Fashola Declines Oba’s Chieftaincy Title by intertribal: 1:44pm On Sep 09, 2012 |
Desola: I really don't care for him being the president of Nigeria but willing him to become the governor of the western region or if push comes to shove - the president of Oodua nation. In the meantime however, it would be great if the other ACN governors can borrow leaves from his book and start taking strides to overhaul their respective states in the manner in which 'Fash' has done. In this case, Ogun state has no excuse for not being half as developed as Lagos given its proximity. OGUN STATE CAN NEVER DEVELOPE 1/4 AS LAGOS EVEN IF YOU REMOVE THE BOUNDRIES. THIS IS BECAUSE OBASANJO AND PDP REMAINS ALIVE IN OGUN. THE GOD THAT TOOK AWAY ABACHA SHOULD BE VOKED DAILY BY OGUN AND ALL PDP STATES. LOOK AT LAGOS, LOOK AT IMO, EDO, ETC |

I know this uncle I used to play Sunday football with in deptford... That guy was broke as fvck, but I heard he married Tinubu's daughter - and this guy became a billionaire overnight... That's how much these people are robbing Nigerians... They stay robbing people with their extreme capitalist agenda - what about the poor indigenes?? |
