I was already awre of the thing called sex by primary 5. But, it's not really necessary. Its like teaching an ss1 student theory of relativity. it shouldn't go beyond sex is how children are made, you can get STD, sexual abuse, nd sex is allowed when you turn 18. |

The book should be banned and the author prosecuted. We are dismantling things we can't reassemble if we continue like this. |

Two things I see wrong here is 1. The boy in the first picture was just left alone without any girl to cater for his sexual desire. 2. They didn't add or show the kids a picture of the penis sliding inside the vulval to explicitly show the kids how it's done and the right hole to insert it. Other than that everything is OK. Whether in Nigeria or elsewhere. However you are free to use any technique in bringing up your kids |

We are at an age Where the Attainment of Knowledge is approaching a very rapid rate, things that children are supposed to know in adulthood they already know it, before they become teenagers. As someone who loves Knowledge and Human Progress, I think it will speed up the Evolution of the human race. More Knowledge = Faster Human Development. |

1Sharon:Trying…? More like over trying. The thing is you end up achieving worse results from the kids than what you were trying to prevent in the first place. |

I don't think this is appropriate at all. It went way deeper than it should go. In a sane environment, it is too much but the content may be a reflection of their values and norms about sex as a country or may be it is intended to address prevailing sexual attitude in their society. |

shantti: Sex Education is overrated. Other than telling kids that sex can lead to pregnancy and the possibility of STDs, any other thing is pornography. |

[quote author=shantti post=121124401]I know with the advent of the wokeness culture, what makes Africa African is beginning to be shoved aside. Africa used to have values and norms which they upholds to the highest level. Sex education didn't used to be for children and it worked so fine. Our contemporary society maybe trying to educate children on matters surrounding sex but I think they are going to far, it should be a very gradual step, with more knowledge added at different stages in life. Not just exposing everything in two shakes of a dog's tail. I came across this, do u all think it's too heavy for kids[/quote It’s better kids (13 years and above) are taught about sex and its consequences so that their ignorance does not lead them to unwanted teenage pregnancies and STDs. Most Africans are just hypocrites. We tend to act holy but at the end of the day teenage pregnancies are more rampant in our societies compared to the societies in which sex is considered a normal thing. We keep doing the same thing over and over again and the results we get are still negative. 2 Likes |

I wasn't given any sex education by my parents. I was trained in Christian and very very discipline home. Much of the sex education was learnt in school. My friends who's parent discussed open sex education with their parents turned out to by womanizers and semi harlots in our JSS days. This sex education self |
