BigIyanga: Is it that F2s cannot adjust their status to F1 or any other visa category while in the USA? Because you seem to always emphasize F2s will be complete liabilities in the USA. I have even heard of cases where F2s secured jobs and got sponsorships for H1B, though quite rare. |

Latonal1: You can do this research yourself, and it won't take up to 30 mins. Visit https://www.usnews.com Search Universities offering [Program of choice] as seen in the photo attached. You can even sort by lowest tuition fee or high enrollment rate. This will help you narrow your search and visit the schools with high enrollment rates to see the required GPA and trust me, some programs will accept you regardless of your GPA. Email the admission coordinator to assess if you stand a chance with your GPA, and work experience if the information is not clear enough on the school website. I encourage you to do it yourself because time is money. Drop a quote if you need further assistance as you start the process. SHALOM!!!

BigIyanga:Boss, If I got it in alone with a F1 visa and my status changed, how easy would it be to bring in my partner and the kid please? Also, how long does or what does it take to change the status of my visa? Thank you |

VincentTobe: Are you within 60 days of your start date on your I-20? If the option is there you could reapply, but what are the odds they wouldn't notice you applied earlier? If you have other documents like class schedule you might upload that for your next request. 1 Like |

Anfieldboss:F2 can change to FI… but you have to apply to school, pay out of pocket or get funded.. go in front of the VO to confess your sins (lol) interview and you stand a better chance of getting approved since you already have F2.. There could be other ways, consult your immigration lawyer. My limited opinions are merely advisory. Good luck! |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by BigIyanga: 4:19pm On Feb 23, 2023 |
Donbigi2:Not entirely true. Your employer can file for your naturalization. Also, you can file for yourself if you’re published/distinguished in your field.. your mentors/colleagues can write letter of recommendation for you. I think it's easier for STEM and healthcare applicants Consult your immigration lawyer. My limited opinions are merely advisory. Good luck! |

Think of this how will your daughter be taken care of when you are doing your activities, especially if she is below 4. Child care/after school services is not cheap, except she is an American Citizen. idirect: 1 Like |

Thank you so much. If he is going to apply later, what would be his proof of home ties by then? Do we say he's coming to visit? Won't they say he should apply for visit visa instead?

|

BigIyanga: Compared to other countries... Its difficult o. But salary is not comparable to any country. After studies, you get 1yr opt but stem gets 36months. You have to find a job within 90days of activating opt. If you loose your job, you have 60days to find another one. When on opt, your company can file for H1B Visa which is a raffle, aka pure luck. The raffle is 2-4x a year. H1b visa is valid for 3yrs which your employer can auto renew for another 3, you company can file for green card for you then. Cc chibertha 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by infosoftlife: 6:18pm On Feb 23, 2023 |
holluville: While filing the form, did you agree to the question that asked if you have been denied a visa in the last 6months? If yes, that's the cause, and I will suggest you go back and click know because you are not likely to visit the embassy till July for your interview. |

Good evening everyone. Hope you had a great day. Please, I need clarity. The agent I used for getting a closer date sent me an appointment confirmation slip yesterday, and it says my interview date is now 28th Feb. I was super excited, only for me to check the date on my profile on US.Gov this morning, it was still the August 2023 date that is still displaying. I called him to understand, but he said that's how they do it, I should relax, not to worry, and just come for the interview on that day. Have I not been scammed like this? Please house. What is the implication? Is this how it goes? You know when the VO start checKing the system, won't S/he accuse me of fraud, that I am not supposed to be interviewed that day? |

BigIyanga:Thanks alot but am not cleared here , so which option should I go for? Secondly can two of us travel as students since my name has been changed to his via our court wedding and newspaper published? Or is it better for me to go first while he joins later and how long will it take to achieve that. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by mantics(m): 9:57pm On Feb 23, 2023 |
Isyberry: You have been scammed. Don't waste your time and resources to travel for the interview. The agent just edited an appointment for you. Agents search for date same way others do, so why waste money paying them unless you don't know how to or you don't have the time to do so... You won't even get to the VO because the pre-screening outside won't have your name on the list. |

Beutony: What is your funding status like? If you are funded by the school and your husband wishes to go with you, shoot for it. If your husband wants to study, he can change status to F1 while in US. It's not a must to go for interview. Also at the interview, you will have to explain what your husband plan is, staying or just helping to settle? All in all, weigh your options well. |
