chrisooblog:Haaland of Dortmund is different from Haaland of Man city, having player like Haaland you need him most in the central or around the box,he is purely playing to Guardiola instructions and Osimehn in man city will do the same based on the strength of man city players....Haaland and Osimehn are real traditional number nine that don’t need much of additional responsibilities to excel. 1 Like |

komekn: Which kind of reinvent himself? A player you believed won't make it in an academy. Osimhen did not reinvent anything. He is literally playing with the same pattern, position and style in the U17. So that one is not true. At what stage did he reinvent himself? Is it Charleroi or Lille he invented himself? All Osimhen needed was playing time. As soon as he got, he delivered. Not your advise or reinventing himself. 3 Likes |

Truidstar: I will prefer you proffer a solution than just attack the idea. The point is about improving our midfield play and creating more opportunities forwards. It is not a direct system. Meaning, it is not for creating direct assists and goals. It is for getting the ball to players to create these assists and goals. Then sometimes, create the assists and goals. Sunday Oliseh in his whole career for the Super Eagles scored two goals. Are you saying he was not critical of our success? |

Mujtahida: Please, coaches consider attributes before picking players and yes, there are many coaches that will pick a player that has good offensive throw-in ability as a criteria for selection. |

komekn: You called Osimhen a poor player and see what he is now. You said Iheanacho scored Gilingham because they are in a poor team and he went on to score against Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur. If Pinging is so easy, why are you finding it difficult for years to pick a Nigerian player with a better pinging ability that the komekn-called poor player Kelechi Nwakali? |

chrisooblog: Very very fantastic post. Takes us back to my earlier analysis of how Osimhen could improve and become a more lethal striker. Osimhen improved on it and we are seeing You can read about it again from here. https://www.nairaland.com/3018619/super-eagles-thread-road-afcon/12735#110613552 |

chrisooblog: Now, to the general question Jamie Carragher posed. Can Manchester City improve to get the best of Haaland, and can Haaland improve to get the best of Manchester City? I think the answer is yes both ways. Manchester City improving to get more from Haaland: I have said this for too long. To the point I told my elder brother it seems the Manchester City players are jealous of Haaland. (personal opinion) Manchester City needs to change their playing pattern to spamming passes to Haaland. He is a superhuman and will convert loads of chances if they can just spam the balls to him. With more touches of the ball by Haaland, the more goals he will score. It is simply logical. Haaland improving to get more from his Manchester City teammates: In this case, Haaland needs to cut out on being stationary in the attack. He needs to move toward his teammates during build-up plays. This will give him more touches, and creates harmony in play with his teammates. Also, this will distract defenders keeping tabs on him and give him more channels for his teammates to pass to. Finally, This culminates in Haaland still getting more chances to score and have him performing better. |

komekn:Don't u think that Nwakali is trying to heed ur advice by playing in la liga 2,just as u wanted Osimhen to move to bundesliga 2. Have u not really gave it a thought that he is actually trying to re-invent himself in lower league. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Napoleon55(m): 3:58pm On Feb 23, 2023 |
Can't believe that some mistake a pinpoint long ball to police ball. That is such an easy thing to do. I believe that every professional player can hit a long ball, but there are few who can hit it with precision to an intended target in a competitive match. I remember when Oruma was called to replace Okocha, instead of playing his own game,he tried to imitate Okocha's game with long balls, but he failed so miserably until he revised back to his style. I believe long balls specialist gives u an advantage over ur opponents but is not what we must do without,or what we must cringe on to, because there r few who can do it accurately. I love when Mikel bust into d scene with accurate long balls, I remember a game against North Korea at d world youth championship 2005,that he gave assist with a precise long ball pass from our own half. Nwakali is trying with long balls but he is not in d class of Mikel,Oliseh and Okocha. May be he can still get there, right now he is d only player close with accurate long ball pass, but he need to improve in other areas of his game and move to top tier league. My advice is to leave Nwakali alone in this thread,to stop discussing about him all the time, because of some people who is allergic to Nwakali's name. 7 Likes |

Post Osimhen as U - 17 and I dare not say pim but there are players you see and your SUSPICION is aroused. I never said he's not less than 20 but I strongly doubt that he is. This has nothing to do with respect. 1 Like |
