Sometimes I ponder why some youths blame the government instead of their unfortunate father like mine.
I don't blame the government but my useless dad that was too lazy to think well and plan well before getting married.
This is the man that worked for 12 years before getting married when Nigeria was still manageable.
That 12 years he worked was a complete waste.
No single achievement before getting married.
You worked for 12 years when you were single.
You couldn't build house or property.
You couldn't connect or have big connections that will set you up or children up for better tomorrow.
You married yet you couldn't train your kid or give them a better education..
Unfortunate Nigerian Fathers are the cause of kidnapping, robbery, unemployment, cyber crime, prostitution and social vices in Nigeria not the government.

Your parents being colossal failures, is not an excuse to also be one.

By the way, if you are only just beginning to believe that I am dumb then it is a good sign that you are no longer catatonic and I don't mind being your target, I am trained to be one.😆😆😆

The best is never to get married or have a child as a poor man. If not, the lineage of abject poverty, meagerness, hopelessness and penury will continue.

House wey no get good foundation no strong o, not to talk carrying another building.

It's true that some of our fathers made that mistake, but now, it's in for us to correct it with pain, regret, neglect and isolation.
You might not enjoy much even after you made it. It's your kids who now will enjoy that treats that your parents couldn't give you.

Don't be bitter. Don't be frustrated. Keep a positive mind. You're the Hero.

Don't bother yourself with the negative comments you'll get on this thread. Most Nigerians are naturally hypocrite. That's why someone would create a new different Monika to share their problem. What does that tell you

I wish you peace of mind and body and most importantly, I wish you love.

Without support from his parents, it becomes even harder to achieve anything. The takeaway here is, don't procreate if you don't have the capacity to give your kids the best. And by the way, you are not a target, rather a Nairaland nobody.

It's there even in the Bible, that the race is not for the swift but he, whom God decide to show mercy...

Even when you think you did something extraordinary, just know that it's the Grace of the Almighty God.

Hhmm... This type of "takeaway" sounds smart when written on paper, but the moment you start to analyze such statements, you realize how fallacious they are. When you say "don't procreate if you don't have the capacity to give your kids the best", the question becomes, what is the best? Whose best are we referring to? Your best or my best? The best a parent can give as an individual or the best according to a certain predefined standard? Even the poorest man could still give his best (which may not meet the basic needs of the child). On the other hand, you don't expect an average man not to procreate because he can't give his kid the kind of treatment a billionaire would give his. Therefore, considering the fact that the word "best" is relative in this context, I believe the right statement should be, don't procreate if you can't meet the basic needs of the kid.

This is just my opinion on your concluding statement and has nothing to do with the OP's situation. I saw your post while scrolling through the Trending page.

I perfectly understand your angle. When I say best, i mean the best life has to offer. Poor people should never procreate cause it's mentally damaging to the innocent child. But that's wishful thinking cause the only way poor people console themselves with their miserable life is by giving birth to more kids as retirement benefits.
