Banky W, Obanikoro Lose As Labour Party Wins Eti-Osa Federal Constituency Seat by Omihanifa: 2:46am On Feb 27, 2023
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Mr Thaddeus Attah of the Labour Party (LP) as the winner of the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

Prof Funmilayo Odukoya, who is the INEC Returning Officer, made the declaration on Sunday at the Collation Centre, Lagos State Model Nursery and Primary School, Marwa, Lekki 1.

Attah won with 24,075 votes, beating his counterparts, Mr Olubankole Wellington (Banky W) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had 18,666 votes, and Mr Babjide Obanikoro of the APC, who had 16, 901 votes.

“That Thaddeus Attah of LP, having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declared winner and is returned elected; signed by me. Thank you so much, “ Odukoya said

She said that other candidates received the following votes: Mr Oladehin Olufemi, African Democratic Congress, 1,422 votes; Mr Azeez Kabirat of New Nigeria Peoples Party, 414 votes, and Mr Olasunkanmi Ololade, Social Democratic Party, 207 votes.

Earlier, there was pandemonium between the party agents and INEC officers over the authenticity of the result, even before it was declared by the presiding officer.

The agents including APC and PDP refused to accept the announcement of results unless their complaints were addressed.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the PDP agent, Mr Aderemi Adeshina, claimed that some voters were disenfranchised in some polling units in the LGA.

Adeshina, also claimed that results recorded in some units after the elections were not transmitted through the BVAS machine.

“We will not accept the result until another election takes place in all the wards where we were disenfranchised, “ he said.

NAN reports that security agents including the police and army were on the ground to ensure and maintain safety and peace.

Banky got what he asked for! This is the second time he is losing. He is jumping from one party to another.

Etiosa is EndSars and I hope Falz has helped Banky W's career with his hate and hypocrisy.

Falz is not from Lagos and his village in Ekiti voted APC and now sending an Ekiti man to Abuja but he voted to send an Attah to Abuja to represent other people's ancestral land here in Lagos.smh.

And when Lagos state caucus meets in Abuja and they start speaking in Yoruba the Attah man will hire an interpreter but Falz's village rep will be speaking Ekiti with the rest of Ekiti reps in Abuja.

This is short one for us in Abuja and it will not happen again wink

I thought you said Fulani want to take your lands, this time you will be completely homeless when Easterners and Northerners share your properties and rule over you while you argue.

It’s happening already, keep selling everything salable. keep selling your fathers properties, while in the North and the East, they won’t sell land to you as a Yoruba person and if they do, anytime there is a tribal fight they kill you and your children.

Keep acting as the most civilized while those who thought you how to be civilize in Western world never sell their lands to you. They lease it to you with your name on it as owner and the moment you fail to pay the huge taxes you loose that $500k property

Just listen to yourself. In this day and age, it's now about tribalism than about competence. I used to think the Yorubas were the most intelligent tribe in Nigeria but this election has really shown otherwise. That's why Nigeria is still as backwards as it is today. Imagine voting for Tinubu when you know it's actually shettima you're voting for because Tinubu won't last long there, and then you come out and claim you're smart.

I really feel for him because he really laboured and deserved to win.
