Sean talk true, can a guy who doesn't speak Igbo language win popular votes to rule in Imo state?

Nobody said he can't contest ; in fact he's already contesting that's why we are discussing about him now. The point we arr making is he won't get the votes of artisans, market women, meat Sellers, elderly people and people who have not been to school but have PVC to vote in an election.

Now let's switch states and also think if such person can also win in Sokoto, Jigawa, Anambra, Enugu, etc when he doesn't speak the language of the people he intends to govern.

Its like una want Sean to cause una sleepless night like he wasted a whole day for Gloriousgbola that time.

True, I have a sense that voter turnout increased, at least down south this election cycle, so was surprised seeing turnout in polling units in mine and those around me being around 15%.

That useless naira scarcity contributed to it.

My Polling unit was 30mins away fron me, if not that it's a bound duty for me to vote, I would have stayed at home. I had to leave home around 7 so I can find a bike man that will collect transfer to take me to my polling unit, I stayed for more than 30mins before I saw bike willing to take transfer.

That nonsense policy was one of the major cause of the voters apathy.

That guy is just looking for problem where there is none cause the moment everyone decides to be tribalistic, he thinks the nation will be safe for him.

The people here who are tribalistic should remember that. If all of us decide to go full tribal bigot, Nigeria would be no more.

Maybe they have forgotten I lay the golden eggs. In fact, my own LGA and clan lay those eggs. Some communities like Ogoni are unliveable to fund your states while you brag.
Whatever you chestbeat about to mock other tribes is built by the money I give you even though my own state is better off on many indices, thankfully. The very roads you walk on are tarred by my money.

We've seen the IGRs of most of the states.. We know most add nothing to Nigeria. We know most are just consumption states. They'd have been better off sold as farmlands to expatriates.

If anyone should be chestbeating and being tribalistic here daily, it should be me and those from communities which fund this geopolitical entity called Nigeria. But, ironically, those of us from the oil-producing regions are the last to ever go tribalistic.

What do you people contribute to the economy of Nigeria? Can you answer that? Leave Lagos alone, there are 5 other states. What do they contribute?
You think the agitation spirit in us is dead? You contribute nothing to the economy but keep taking yet every little conversation about our sociopolity, you resort to asking people to leave your land or asking them to be thankful you accommodate them.

Accommodate them based on survival allowance you get from my lands? From my waters? From the cocked oil heads scattered all over my ancestral lands, more of which are waiting to be tapped, drilled and fund your states yet you have the effrontery to be tribalistic?

I should be the one doing what you are doing. But keep being tribalistic. Keep giving radicals amongst those of us who fund this country reasons to cause mayhem with your utterances.

Wait, you're seriously using a network issue experienced by ONE single number (individually for those three numbers posted) to justify an online server/portal that was supposed to be set up with over billions of naira and the most competent IT teams in the nation, who should have probably had more than four years since the last election to "train"??

Now, aside the absurdity of your comparison or whatever that is, do you realise the same server we're referring to WORKS PERFECTLY for the uploading of other results, except the presidential?

Please, how did it not fail for the transmission of Senate and HOR results? If it was a "generic glitch" or failure, do you not think all the results being uploaded should have been randomly affected then?

That's why I said the government shouldn't allow too many people from any specific ethnic group (except Yoruba) to dominate the state, and larride dey mention rights.

Also, instead of many indigenes selling their ancestral lands to people from other ethnic groups, they should lease out the lands.

The right to live and do business anywhere in the country is guaranteed by the constitution.

Now I do agree that lands should be leased and not sold. There has been talk that Lagos State govt will review the land use acts but we will see how it goes.

Actually, yes. It's even worse if you live amongst your tribesmen but can't speak your language.

Banky W too lived abroad but learnt to speak Yoruba. Did you see Chidi Mokeme speaking fluent Yrouba and Igbo in "Shanty Town" movie series? Where did he learn the Yoruba? Wasn't it in the same Lagos?

Let's be honest - nobody running for governor in Akwa Ibom who can't speak Ibibio wouldn't be criticized. Akpabio is Annang - an Ibibiod subgroup - but he speaks fluent Ibibio deliberately as a politician.

Even Ben Murray Bruce speaks intelligible Ijaw and was Senator in Bayelsa, yet he's part-White and looks it too. If Ben can speak Ijaw without ever living in Bayelsa, GRV has no excuse not to speak fluent Yoruba living in Lagos.

The issue is the tribal bigotry.

Nawa oo maybe coming from Delta state with multiple languages has ensured I don't look out for the persons ability to speak their local dialect.

You responded to my post about Akwa Ibom producing the largest oil for this country, right? That was to expatriate.

It's valid regardless. Indigenes of states who conrinute nothing to the economy of this country should shut up and be brotherly with other Nigerians in their places just as we are brotherly enough to fund your very socioeconomic lives with our oil and money without asking you to stop asking for more money.

If those teibalists ask others to leave their lands, they should be ready to feed without our precious oil.

Maybe we have been too calm. Rhetorics isn't exclusive to any single group. For everyone's good, the should learn to tone down on the bigotry. They can support your candidate without denigrating other tribes.

Edo's have always been very accommodating to Igbo's, we inter-marry, they raise families here and have done so for decades without issues. I'm always surprised when people say Igbo's are problematic when all my life I've lived with them without noticing this part of them....they're very competitive though, and sometimes that can offend people.

Apart from online rabble-rousing, does the average Igbo man say Lagos is no man's land, I don't think so...I can bet there's nobody on this thread that has met an Igbo man saying Lagos is no man's land.

Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world, and Lagos is seen as the jewel of the South West, it's sad the country has been structured such that there are not enough cities that allow for the shipping of goods via air and sea...hopefully the Ibom deep sea port comes alight soon and other cities that have the geographical advantage support the shipping of goods.

Nigeria needs more functional cities, outside of Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, with more functional cities, we won't have to be at each others' throats as much.
