There are ways to eat cheap if you don’t have the means.

Food banks, dollar stores,

Stop playing this card. Are these places meant for a reasonable human being? Can you get your desired food in food bank? Nigerians and eating shit so far it comes from abroad

ALDI on Broadway happened to be the closest to me at the time. There are only 33 ALDI locations even today in all of Chicago, so you drive to the one closest. That particular store on Broadway happened to be one of our closest especially on the way to the African stores which also happen to be on Broadway. undecided
whats your point lol

2. So, all the foods I listed earlier -- bread, eggs, rice, beans, potatoes, Tuna, chicken, cereal, vegetables, oats, peanut butter, canned fruits, canned vegetables, tomato paste, onions, meat, frozen foods, pastries , etc. , --- aren't reasonable or desired foods? undecided

I’m not sure who you think you’re talking to. Wrong person.

I’m just explaining to the person they don’t need to despair if they are financially unable to afford food at the moment. So when you say stop playing this card, you’re assuming that you have seen more many times asking them to go to the dollar store.

And you know what? If they did, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. Food is food. Some are just more expensive than others.

Comparing their money and ours no dey make sense. Is their £25 equal N25. Our money has problem that should be fixed. Can you get food of N25 here, that £25 is almost 25000 here is that not madness but if you work there £25 shouldnt be a problem except you have not dropped Nigerian money conversion spirit.
irumole1975:

Food is cheaper in Nigeria than anywhere else in the world. We both know this. But there's this urge in us to always commend whatever it is we see in the west even if it's ridiculous. That is coming from a place of inferiority complex, and it's fine. We're all slave to these people so we need to defend them. But then let's choose to be sensible. I'll buy #3k worth of meat in Nigeria and eat it for days with family, but can you buy £10 worth of meat in the UK and it'll last that long?

If you're eating their unhealthy food, it's cheap, but still expensive when you compare it with their value u get from it

Suffering and smiling. Saying food from a food pantry isn’t up to par but remember when palliatives were supposed to be given out in Naija during lockdown? Food pantries exist for a reason and no White, Asian, Black, or Mexicans are ashamed to take food from them but these Nigerians in this thread are too posh for that I reckon.

.by your asserting, then anyone in the UK should not have issues earning £250,000 every month. Well, if that's the case, I was wrong for comparing blindly

Maybe he thinks the food pantry is a trash bin.

I buy good food and take to the pantry in my area. No left overs. Good food that me and my family will eat. They don’t accept anything open, used, expired or if fresh items must be visible up to par.

Why wouldn’t anyone eat from it?

The big universe is steady sending big blessings your way for doing that Cococandy. I know you buy good food for your household like other people that donate and myself. I don’t understand why people would rather go hungry than to take the help that is there waiting. I assume it’s the same reason some people rag on ‘menial jobs’ and don’t see dignity in honest labor while condoning those committing fraud.

Don’t believe everything you read.
Today, I bought this in the same US and have enough for 2 people. As you can see, it has rice included which is how I knew OP wasn’t being honest. It was $8.25 with a $2.99 delivery charge because I was too lazy to leave my office to pick it up myself:

I was thinking same too. It's not that expensive to eat out anywhere in the US. He could have ordered his rice from a Chinese / Jamaican/Nigerian restaurant and the total shouldnt be more than probably $12 and that would have included other stuff and not just plain rice with just source and nothing else.

May be he went to an expensive restaurant.
Like in Nigeria for example, go to Transcorp hotels in Abuja and order your rice there, later go out to a buka in Abuja and order same rice. The difference is clear.

Na people wey wan show level they spend money anyhow like this anywhere for Yankee. Ordinary white rice that a rice cooker will cook for you for free - just put the rice there, add water, salt and some spices if u want, it's ready very fast. So, it's OP that decided to waste money and shouldn't complain.

Urchins don enter overdrive last last, I told one of them that there work just started so expect stupid threads like this to validate their madness. The punk op that went to buy 25 dollar rice for yanky of all places, I don't even have any word 4u maybe this thread is for urchins that are hiding in their enclaves in ikorodu because it seems they have high number of urchins residing there.

They want to validate the sufferings Nigerians are going through. Like iam still trying to understand where the op bought the rice because if it was an expensive restaurant, it will definitely come with good packaging n not that low life packaging.

Cc Irumole1975. Just a quick google search of what is available in my area (I’m not in Miami. This is google just doing it’s thing). I wouldn’t call these items food for unreasonable people. What do you think?
