What are you doing that you can't save up $10k ??
In 8 months in UK I saved up £10k without pressure.
Abi you no know road? Or you dey count buses for road?
Better ask questions and stop discouraging people.

Someone said he spent £600 on gas and electricity...LIAR. even in a 6months you can't spend that amount at all.

Gas bill differs, I pay average $410 monthly depending on usage and winter weather.

Bro don't mind those fools here saying what they don't know. Maybe they were living in someone's basement or as usual with Nigerians squatting with a nigga in a rundown apartment.

Speak for yourself o. I have never regretted relocating to US. A beautiful family, two fine 2020 SUVs, lovely mortgaged house, three beautiful houses in naija, three fine cars (two SUVs and one 2016 car) in naija. Parents and siblings are well taken care of. Friends are supported in tunes of millions of naira in their various businesses. Tell me, what work could I do in naija within four years to achieve all these and still going? You pay bills in US, that's a must. No food for lazy man in yankee o cheesy

You better cease from posting rubbish... Under 4 years, you achieved all that in the US you liar... Except you are into crime and you will run out of luck soon. Even a friend who graduated with a PhD from MIT and works currently in Google, will not make verbose claim as you made here, forgetting that tax alone takes a large portion off salary of high earners where less than 10% americans, less than 2% blacks earn up to 100k+ per annum..

All these things you listed can be achieved by a high earner in the range of 300k+ above per annum, albeit that will take a good number of years with frugality in spending as most are concerned about paying off their mortgage....

Someone said he spent £600 on gas and electricity...LIAR. even in a 6months you can't spend that amount at all.

1) Gas and leccie is billed in Kw/h not litres.

2) The energy price cap is currently £2500 p/a which means the fixed portion of your bill ( standing charge) is capped at that amount- energy companies cannot charge more than that in a year.

3) The variable portion which is based on your usage is uncapped which means your total bill can be in excess of the £2.5k.

4) Factors affecting your bill will depend on your usage, number of appliances and their energy efficiency. For gas, how energy efficient your home is ( single vs double or triple glazed windows, loft/ wall insulation, type of property- flat, terrace, semi or detached and size of property.

So the fella saying 600 quid cannot be spent in six months is obviously still living in pre- August 2021 UK before several energy companies went bust, or in his timeline, Russia has not invaded Ukraine, or fixed his bills before the all the increases started to happen and his fixed deal is yet to end.

But nobody I know or have heard of is paying less than circa 200 quid a month, and that is considered low these days. The average energy bill in the UK these days sits around £300-£350 in 2023, and higher in Jan and Feb this year where we had sub zero temperatures.

Chief he’s right. Most abroad guys are not as great as people make them seem to be.
If it’s easy, all the lands in ikate would have been bought and developed by Nigerians in abroad considering the total numbers of Nigerians there.
I don’t say you can’t go there and make it, you can but it comes with a hefty social and economic price.
People who have the best chances of succeeding financially in the US/UK are people who are into STEM fields and are geniuses in their respective Expertise.

Shut da fuvk up!!!! You have never crossed Lagos. What that person said is true. Maybe you were living in a basement or squatting with a nigga that why u could save that much if true. All you folks come here spewing thrash about making thousands of dollars or pounds.

Thing is, he could probably save £10k pounds in 8 months, if he has a reasonable paying job of circa £100k p/a bearing in mind the UK average wage is around £30k. But if he did, he would be living a life that comes with all the trappings of earning that sort of money and KNOW the associated costs would be far higher than 600 quid on gas and leccie.

But if I were a betting person, I'd bet that he does not live in the UK otherwise he would have vomited his garbage.

The first two to three months of Nigerians getting abroad is always like;

"ohh my God, see 24hrs light, Nigeria failed us" most even forget they pay $300 for utility bills every month. LoL

"See road. Ohh my God, there's no road and fine cars in Nigeria, we all trek on mud"

"Mehn, see fine fine oyinbo, I'll Marry like 2 oyinbo for here and get papers within two years" only to later realized this is only but illusion as most Nigerian guys are ugly and might not be good enough to even get dates.

"Damn. See how much my salary is wen I convert it to naira. Now, I'm earning more than a bank manager in Nigeria" Only to later realized that 60% of this money will go to taxes and bills. Nigerians at home will also bill them

"Take pictures every day to pepper ignorant Nigerians at home" only to get tired after two months when reality knock

That was me when I paid $350 for light in February

Add yours

I agree with you in all you said, but at list you paid for what you used, in Nigeria we're used to paying and not seeing a week constant light, other neighborhood will tap illegal connections and pay noting for years. You're being taxed for everything, but you get the quality of it back, remember from those money you paid, they keep maintaining the development you're enjoying there.
Here is mine and there is no two ways about it, find a work and pay your Taxes.
I ranted a big house and rented the rooms to other foreigners like me. You pay less or no rent monthly and share the utility bills. I pay other bills like car insurance yearly, auto revisions and annual road worthy tax, They're alot but will force you into getting work and be useful.
When you get Citizen you can choose to stay or return home to invest.
I encourage anybody that sees opportunities to travel to good places not Arab countries, work hard and the little you saved after paying Tax can change
Alot back home. This is mine only light alone, (gas/Heater) and refuse bill is coming.
African foodstuffs are expensive too, or you can manage their pasta meal.

He's absolutely saying the truth! Personally, I cannot relate to that heat and electric bill because it is included in my rent and I do not take it for granted, especially during the winter months.

Even a doctor can't achieve all you listed there after 40yrs of practice. You must be a yahoo boy or drug dealer

Say what you can only comprehend cheif.

There is some many ways to turn around income legitimately. And yes a Doctor can achieve all that and more in less than 20 years (that's half the 40 you quoted)
