Hey! I believe in one Nigeria and I am also a conservative. Both can go hand in hand. Nigeria is a country and not a nation. Igbos must respect boundaries until they disappear naturally. We are not yet ripe for what you are asking for. |

hotwax: No, they’re not the first Yoruba settlers in Lagos. They’re Saros who were enslaved Yoruba people from the hinterland, in the new world and they returned to Nigeria in the 19th century. In case you don’t know: there was a period around 1850 when they were expelled from Lagos but the Aworis allowed them to return and settle on Lagos Island. So if I may ask: why would aboriginal Yorubas be expelled from their own land by other Yorubas? Anyway, don’t fret, when the time comes, Yoruba nation would be achieved. But for now, Lagos has to be protected at all cost. |

hotwax: Yes they’re Yoruba people 100%. However, they’re not aboriginal since they were originally from the hinterland before they were enslaved and sold into slavery. The aborigines of the Lagos land mass are Aworis, Ijebus, Egbas and Oyo. The Egun for example are from Quidah but they were re-settled in Badagry by Oyo after they were expelled by Dahomey since Badagry was one of Oyo’s slave ports. That said, Saros and Amaros are 100% Lagosians and they were very instrumental in the Yoruba renaissance in Lagos. So, I’m not disputing the fact that they’e Lagosians. But they’re not aboriginal Lagosians (Check the pic I attached to the message). Anyway, keep fighting the good fight of a Yoruba nation and don’t be distracted by social media noise. Those supporting Yoruba nation are in the majority. Even a cursory look at how members of groups created by Yoruba nation campaigners outnumber those of Biafra groups x50, across all platforms is a pointer. Nigeria was created to fail and it’s on its last legs. Also, like you, I’m not a fan of Tinubu. But I think when you look at Lagos relative to the rest of Nigeria - he’s not the worst out there and he’s above his peers. I had to learn to stop comparing him to Awolowo since he’s a capitalist while Awolowo was a socialist. And when you look aroud the world - capitalists are the same everywhere and nepotism/elitism is just part of the game. So, you just have to grade him in context of what’s attainable in context of Nigeria against his peers. Once you do that - you’d see that he’s not too bad tbh. Lastly, Lagos is bigger than Tinubu. It’s about protecting our most important asset and heritage. Especially, now that a Yoruba man is the president of Nigeria. The state and the whole SW need continuity and more integration. And this isn’t the time to give it to the opposition - especially to a compromised Yoruba doofus who’s a plant by hateful Igbos. Put emotions aside and think logically. 1 Like

ProphetM0hammad: I have come to understand that most tribalistic Yorubas claiming Lagos State are not residents nor do they have PVC register to vote in Lagos State. It means that the only means for them to actualize their violent extremism is to incite most peaceful Yorubas living in Lagos to take up arm against the citizens of Lagos State. What a sad state of the nation |

[quote author=SHIVA001 post=121513980] Now the Gbayi trybe owns abuja. The same way the Aworis owns Lagos which belong to the Yoruba trybe so, but either it's Gbayi or fulani or Hausa. What I know is that they are all northerner. An Igbo man can't just go there and start claiming to own abuja the way they are calling Lagos a no mans land here. [/quote Who is claiming Lagos? It have become your tradition every election year to start tribal war with ndi Igbo in Lagos unprovoked. |
