Raheeqilmaktoom:

1. That's the whole point, they defected to realize their ambitions under a party, now that they've done so, what remains for them? What do you think are the perks LP can povide them that will make them stay there?

2. He defeated an incumbent who is now out of power and a new pair incumbent is coming to take over, the outgoing is powerless and the incoming remains to be seen. So long as realignments do not favor him, expect seeing political manouverings.

3. There are forces at play which are way bigger than PO, it's why the likes of Umahi decamped in the first place. LPs survival may depend on how well and hard Obi can manage the brand he brought together which doesn't look promising, give a year of politicking and trading and many of these guys will find a new home somewhere.

One thing that's glaring is that there is no identity to the whole movement, just hype and noise and a few vocal people trying to drum it into everyone that they know they which they clearly don't.

The next few months will define LPs survival as a party, it's people will play a role in it's journey and how it will turn out.

At the bolded 1, what always bring trade offs are political godfatherism and as long as none of them got to the post through "the traditional way" of anointing candidates it will be suicidal to try maneuvering. They were voted by people(masses) and any maneouveuring will result to them being disliked and that will create disaffection among their constituents. If you think that because a politician lost an election that makes him powerless then you really have a lot to learn in politics. Many of them will have their interest protected more in LP, I am not saying I am guaranteeing they won't defect but that will be suicidal because all they have going on for them is the masses support and once they lose it and try playing the "dirty" tricks with the veterans just be rest assured there political future is as good as gone.

At the second bolded. I think you are not getting it. PO is the brand of LP and as long as no "tangible" dents to his image his followers will continue to be the movement force of the party. Labour party can decide to go extinct or engage in internal wranglings but as long as PO is still their candidate, the Obidient movement will keep providing the party structure. Again there will be no force greater than people, as long as you have the masses with you no politician can drown him. PO might not be the immediate president but the impact of this election and his movement will keep reverberating within the country until the politicians start doing the right thing.

My point is, future is bright for LP elected senators and reps, unless they are myopic that will only lead them to defect and that will be suicidal because as long as PO remains the party candidate and no "tangible' dents the party will realize more ground with the pursuit of "new nigeria is possible"

If you don't know by the time election cycle will be over they will have more House of assembly members and Governor(s). So I don't understand the kind of perks you are talking that the party can't offer them.

First to throw stone and when we retaliate, they start playing victims. Imagine thinking only someone that came second has the right to challenge a result. If that isn’t stupídity at its peak, I don’t know what else is. Peter Obi will reclaim his mandate and the only choice you can get is enjoy a better governance or drink hypo.
Stupidity? You are the stupid one obviously and who was actually throwing stones? you obviously don't know what playing the victim is as well. Nobody is stopping you from claiming your so-called mandate but you should get one thing straight you can't enforce your opinion on people and be insulting them again. Good luck with the court proceeding no be Naija we dey ? cool

My point is, future is bright for LP elected senators and reps, 4. unless they are myopic that will only lead them to defect and that will be suicidal because as long as PO remains the party candidate and no "tangible' dents the party will realize more ground with the pursuit of "new nigeria is possible"

1. Tradeoffs will always take place in a political setting, that's what makes it politics, and if it does not favor person, it's only a matter of time before he expressed that displeasure which may come in different formats.

2. That's very debatable, except if their interest to you is having their respective tickets and that won't be a problem, after all, they are the incumbents now. Politics is local and national at the same time.

3. There are factors at play that are bigger than him and they may take many faces, wait for the incoming Armin to take off forst before you see where the train is heading towards. Don't forget that a Southerner is the president, so Obi has very limited time to try and make the best of his hype, unfortunately, he's got a ruthless power player to contend with.

4. There are certain perks that come with being a member of a political party, especially a winning one and LP might only provide that in a few instances, not many will keep to a losing brand that takes more than they provide. That's politics.

If their interests are served (which can be as fluid as water or gas), they may stay and if not, fasten your seat belt.

It's very unlikely for the courts to overturn the elections, very very unlikely.

Study atiku's latest movements.

Let's watch and see. Pls make sure you book this mention down. Obi is our next president. It's not going to be by human force but from above. Except you don't believe in God.

The new Nigeria is yet to stay. Pls, let's be booking down all these, so when the time comes, we can refer back to them and know who will be right at the end of the day.
