Please I want to know my chances here... My Passport is expiring in August 2023, and I want to apply for a US visa.. Infact, I am suppose to go pay for a US visa in GTB today but I am just not feeling it.. Considering the fact that obtaining visa interview dates is difficult, maybe my passport would expire before even getting a date... Please advice me.

Like I said I contacted them through the feedback and they replied to say I should check the calendar for a date. But no date shows up on my calendar. It’s completely blank. Pls what does this mean? I asked earlier? Do they release dates from time to time or what?

What Month in 2019. mine expires in 30th December 2018 do qualify for drop box?

My self and wife got our Visa renewed through Dropbox.

I got approval to submit my application two weeks after appointment booking
Submission was done on the 7th of February
Visa was Issued on the 23rd of February
I picked up on the 28th of February
That's about 3 weeks for both of us.

I used the isolo dhl office,while madam used their Victoria Island office.

Our visas expired in 2019.I and my wife never bothered to apply during the Trump years as the refusal rate was high and there wasn't any Dropbox opportunities.

Please I'd like to change my mum's interview waiver date for drop box. When i logged in to the account, I could not find a link to reschedule.
Can one change the date at all? Please could someone point me in the direction of how to?
I am also thinking, when I move the date forward, it must still be within the 4years expiry of the old Visa. Am I correct?

A male friend has an upcoming appt next month and needs advice on how best to approach his interview. For context, he is 36 years old, has no travel history, has owned his own company of 11 employees for the past 5 years and wants to attend a few conferences and tour the US. A few questions:
1. As CEO/Founder, should he state his company is sponsoring him or that he is sponsoring himself? Essentially he is the same person, my question related more to taxonomy. Does one hold more weight?
2. Should he mention he will stay in a hotel or that I will accommodate him. Either is feasible. For context, I am a married woman, living with my husband + two children and he is financially able to support himself. I will not be providing any financial documents.
3. He initially completed his DS-160 form in April '22, is a new one required?

It depends on the purpose of the conference. Is it for personal development or related to the company. If related to the company business, it's logical to say so.

2. Is the event taking place in the city where you live. He should state what he filled in the form. After the event, you can accommodate him.

3. The DS-160 should be fine if the info is accurate.

Overall they are no major issues.

Very frustrating. It’s almost a week now. I will call them today if it doesn’t change.

I have called and they said to keep checking. That once the slots open I will see them.

You can go ahead and schedule an interview, if you want to. The passport I used to book an interview in November 2021 was renewed a few months ago.
I used the new passport for my interview today and just mentioned that it was a different passport from what was on my DS-160.

I was told that it doesn't matter, as they would work with my new passport. The old one wasn't asked for, at all, even though I had it with me.

And my issue is my passport is currently at the Canada visa office for stamping of TRV. If I don’t get it back tomorrow, I can’t make this new IW appointment. So wrong how they just assume you have no set plans

I'm exactly in the same situation. Interview moved forward by about a month to this March. The mail says the agents cannot change the date as the rescheduling was done by the US consulate.

Maybe you can write to them. This is completely new to me.

Lol. Yeah. I'm not around at the moment and have to make emergency flight arrangements.

Plus side is, it looks like a positive outcome. Not bad to be among the first to flex the 5 year visa.

My mom had a visiting visa that expired in 2017.

Can she renew it or does she have to apply for a new one?

I don't think you can change IW appointment date. That was what I was told by the customer service agents, when I called to try and change my date. I was told all I can do is wait for the appointment date, not show up/drop off my documents and then about 48 hours after the date I would be able to use the same receipt to book another appointment date.

Although, I got the same mail that a few people said they received today, informing me that my appointment date has been rescheduled to next week, approximately 1 month earlier than the date I initially chose.

Since there is still a month, if u fill ur form and submit on time u should be able to get a date. U won’t know unless u try.
