BlueRayDicks: Same story with LUTH One time an accident victim was referred from FMC abeokuta to Luth, he made it to the hospital but died while waiting to be attended to because there was no bed space I once shared the story of a friend who survived cancer. When he went into coma and was referred to Luth, they spent 3 hours in the vehicle that brought him because there was no bed. It took the intervention of some of their church members who made calls to the high places before they got him a bed. Luth is more or less the only decent hospital with the best equipment and doctors in the whole of the South West. All critical and emergency cases end up in Luth. |

Itsrm: It is too much. Luth and Lasuth are always overcrowded even what some people can get treatment for in the general hospital closer to them, they prefer to go to Luth. I know someone that refuses to use Ikorodu General Hospital and went all the way to Ikeja to use Lasuth, las las he went back to Ikorodu General Hospital when the crowd too much for ham. I dont blame some people sha, Luth and Lasuth has the best specialists for most cases. When my wife was using Ikorodu general hospital before, their specialist consultant usually comes from Lasuth 1 Like |

larride: They need to elevate a few general hospitals to the level of (or very close to the level of) LASUTH. Using distance and population statistics they can choose maybe Ikorodu, Badagry, Lagos Island, Alimosho general hospitals for instance. Improve their emergency department facilities, increase capacity, employ more staff and train them appropriately. There are so many people dying in Nigeria who should be alive. When I see what patients survive here I just think in my mind that these people do not understand how good they have it. 1 Like |

larride: Sometimes I wonder what is wrong with UCH. It's supposed to take some of the pressure off LUTH and Lasuth. Myy friend was referred to LUTH from Lautech teaching hospital. I would have expected them to have referred him to UCH considering the proximity. Most emergency cases from neighbouring states are always referred to LUTH. |

Nigeria will soon begin the production of solar cell locally. The ground breaking ceremony of NASENI local cell production plant will take place in Gora, Nasarawa state. This will enable us to produce 100% solar panel. A good development ba. Improve profits for SMEs. @woye1 |

Itsrm: I don share my personal experience for LASUTH for here before. They attended to my patient in the car . We moved from one section to the other within the compound carrying the patient in the car and when they eventually decided to have the patient administered drip, the car served as the bed space. The doctor was even giving some kind of vibe like our patient was lucky we came in a car cos the other option would've been to get white plastic chair on which the patient would be attended to cos the bed spaces were filled up. Dem LUTH, LASUTH and co are places that can get u depressed if u visit often. I won't be surprised if most of their staff sef are depressed. 2 Likes 1 Share |

afrodoc2: Gbagada General hospital sef dey try, I think that's where the cancer ward is located. Both the State govt and Fed Govt needs to invest more in health infrastructure. Look at Ikorodu General hospital for instance, their pre natal emergency ward bed space no reach 20 and you cant stay more than 24hrs there before they move you to the main ward. Another thing is shortage of staff though most of their operation has been digitalized, they should invest more in infrastructure to accept more patients. Funny enough, I heard theres another general hospital in Ikorodu apart from the popular one. |

Itsrm: Like someone said, Lagos suffers for the incompetence of other states in Nigeria. If other states lives up to 50% of what Lagos does, the pressure wont be much on Lagos as it is right now. 7 Likes 1 Share |
