When Will Indigenes Take Back Their Market Space? by cocolacec(m): 2:00pm On Mar 10, 2023
When will indigenes of several states/regions stop the Igbo domination of their market space?

Back in the 80's,many women own and sell their wears in Mile 2 Market,Lagos. It was filled with Yorubamen and women with few Igbos.

Slowly the market place turned to Igbo dominated market when Easterners started to troop into Lagos enmass from their region.

There was competition for housing, school, health care, transport, food continued until prices of goods and services skyrocketed only to be available to the highest bidders.

The State govts need to make a law in all states so the indigenes of each region must have at least 85% of the market space for trading etc.Non indigenes of the region can only get 15% market space.

Some trading must be reserved for indigenes of the region and prohibited to non indigenes. This will be a protectionist law where Indigenes can thrivein yheir regions.

Loans and grants must be given to Indigenes to stock their wares.

The Igbo domination of market place in other regions only bring poverty.
,penury, hopelessness to the indigenes who cant compete with drug pushers.

We need to bring back our markets to the indigenes.Thete is nothing Igbos are doing in our regions that we cant do better than them.Igbo markets will crumble if we the indigenes stop to patronize them but own people.

Let's be frank please, if Igbos leave markets in Lagos, there'll be shortage of goods and most of the markets will be empty, same as if Yoruba women leave Agbo business and sachet drinks, there will be no more cheap herbal medicine to help cure our jedi jedi and weak erections.

Igbos control the markets in Nigeria. Anything buying and selling, leave it for them.

Yorubas are incharge of agbo and sachet drinks with amala and ewedu.

Make everybody maintain their lane for peaceful coexistence.

To be honest with you despite the Lagos is No man's Land Campaign I would have said let's us leave them alone God Almighty has already shown us.that he is on our side, let us concentrate on Manufacturing Production and on Industries like Information Technology and Agriculture
as their Children can hardly speak any other Languages but Yoruba and English and the 3rd generation ones in Oyo are already claiming they are Yorubas

The Ijebu Ogbomosho Ijesha Igbomina and to a certain extent Ibadan have always been excellent business people they should be encouraged more

Let the State Security forces go after all Fraudsters Drugs Dealers, prostitution rings Baby Factories Fake News Merchants etc and put them out of Business Permanently

A state government cannot make a law that is higher than the constitution of Nigeria, and the constitution of Nigeria does not give any indigene of an area higher rights than a non indigene

What amazes me about Nigerians is that they will shout 'one Nigeria', but when it comes to practicing it, they will remember that some people are none indigene

The hypocrisy is too much

Have you ever heard of Quota System?

It is in the Law

Everyone should be given Opportunity

Do you know why the Hausa Fulani dominate
the foreign exchange Markets?

Banbangida and Abacha looked after them and supplied them generously with foreign exchange at cheap rates

As if you can even Stop us from taking what is already ours

If you had given us the Port duties you collected from it and Apapa as you should have done it would have paid for all costs many times over and there is Seme border too
It's ours and we want all you collected there !!
What FG collected in duties there can buy and pay for 5 west African Countries and even have change left over

I doubt if you know the meaning of the word generous. One thing I can decipher from all your actions, is that Bola Ahmed Tinubu's victory at the just concluded Presidential election, has brought out the real thinking of every average Yoruba about the IGBOS.
That someone said Lagos is no man's land, is just a smoke screen. If not, how can you say that the should give you the sea port, that is Nigeria?
Are you ok? Invariably you are calling for the separation of the country then.

What okoros do is they flood the market with cheap products from Asia making it impossible for the indigenes to compete with the low prices. After the indigenes are driven out of the business they then reset the market price to a high level and become the ONLY sellers.

What did you mean?
Because Badagry and Lagos were the Yorubas main Ports before the British arrived and tbey returned it all including Apapa Port to Awolowo's Western Region at independence

The Oba of Lagos collected all Port Duties and Taxes at Lagos Ports and the Alaafin of Oyo collected from his own Ports at Badagry and Porto Novo

The British and the Portuguese fought themselves in battle nover our Yorubaland Sea Ports you know
