The length of time is due to the time it took EMS to show up. Floyd was Experiencing Excited Delirium and officers are trained to Subdue the suspect till help arrives. that's exactly what they did to Floyd.

Imagine him comparing the treatment of Tony Timpa with that of George Floyd. Tony Timpa was treated with respect and was always asked if he was alright. Tony Timpa had only one knee on his back the whole time and not four as in the case of George Floyd. At no time was the knee near Tony Timpa's neck, but George Floyd pleaded with Derrick Chauvin to remove his leg from his neck.
