Hello Nairaland Family, I hope y'all are good. I am a graduate of optometry but since I have been working as a web developer. Also put web development(Noc 21234) in my profile. Just today I got an invitation from Ontario to apply but I am scared because I haven't seen anybody from tech that was invited this month, I only saw Noc codes of health care occupations mostly. I am scared because I do not have 1500 cad to pay and get rejected later. PLEASE IS THERE ANY ONE IN TECH THAT WAS INVITED THIS MONTH? Also guys should I go ahead to apply?

PPR finally came in today đŸ™đŸ˜…đŸ„ł I don’t know how to behave. I ran downstairs to show my husband and we were jumping quietly together so as not to wake our toddler.

Timeline below:
IELTS exam: 20th August 2022
EE profile created: 12th September 2022
ITA received: 26th October 2022
Submission & AOR: 25th December 2022
Spouse’ BIL: 11th January 2023
Biometrics passed: 20th January 2023
Web form raised: 8th February 2023
Ready for visa email: 9th March 2023

No updates on the application tracker; eligibility and background check are still shown as “Not started” till now. Don’t be worried if you don’t get ghost updates or any similar clues we often track.

By the way, my international passport will expire on 5th September this year. Should I submit it like that for COPR processing or try to renew first? Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this? I also would appreciate advice on what visa office to send our package to.

Thank you to everyone who has helped and encouraged me in this journey. Some of you have made such helpful posts that I have screenshots on my japa folder. God bless you all @Bilingualism @Graciouswords @Debie with the many e’s @asetake ati beebe lo
Congratulations girl, make this reach me ooo

Health draw was Mar 9....Tech draw was Mar 10.

See links below. You should be safe if you follow the instructions on their website. Also see the page before this one for some OINP discussions.

Why naw? The same way I screenshot from NL, you can also read past posts and screenshot whatever you find relevant. It’s mostly things like how to call IRCC from Nigeria, how to check your VO through Singapore, what to include when sending your passport to Accra and such things. I’m not sure those screenshots would be useful to you. Everything you need is either already here on easily accessible through Google research.

You and your wife should do WES and IELTS.
I will suggest that your wife should be the primary applicant cos she's younger and she can claim sibling points. Her HND is almost equivalent to your master's degree. That money might not be enough for a family of five. In all, use CRS calculator to get estimate of what your score will look like and compare it to the least score of the last invitation, and if it's way below it, you can consider studying french.

Good day Seniors in the house.
I am about to start the Japa dream to Canada. I have read a lot on this page but i need guidance from you please.

I have Bachelor's of Engineering in Electronic and Computer Engineering. Also i have a masters in Information technology. I am also a COREN certified Engineer.
My wife has an HND in Accounting and she's also a chartered accountant (ACCA). She is about completing her Bsc this year.
I and my wife are level 12 civil servant with a federal government agency with over 10 years experience.
We both have a cumulative of about 8 million naira in FG Contributory Pension (though can not be withdrawn as cash) that can be used as part payment for proof of funds (POF)
I (aged 37), wife (aged 35). and our three kids (aged 8,5,2) all need to move to Canada for permanent residency. My wife has his brother in Canada.
What is the best and affordable route for us.

1. Do I need to do WES before IELTS. Should I do WES and IELTS alone or with my wife?
2.Do I still have success chance for Federal skill worker or Provincial Nominee Program considering my age and wifey's age (37, 35)
3.If I am the Primary applicant. Can my brother in-law (a citizen in canada) sponsorship add points for me.
4. What's the minimum point I should strive for in IELTS.
3.Is study route a better option for us.
4. Is COREN and ACCA evaluated by WES. Do I use my MSc alone for WES.

Immense Thanks

You see bros, Page one is the best for you, but since you're finding it difficult to go to page one, read my opinion please;

With your age and that of you spouse and with the current trend of CRS scores not tending downwards, you'll need a second language test (French), otherwise, kindly proceed with the study route you've mentioned sir.

CRS score was 496 if I remember correctly. No special pathway; just the regular EE - FSWP. I maxed out my IELTS, maxed out experience points, got “two or more degrees” due to ACCA, included my husband’s ECA and IELTS and have brothers who are citizens.

My IELTS score was 8.5 across LRW and then 7.5 in speaking.

All the best in your journey; I pray they resume favourable draws soon.

Ok ,thanks for getting back..... Your journey is inspiring

Good day everyone, urgent help needed.
I was scheduled for biometrics at Lagos VFS office on Thursday, 9th March 2022, I got there 30mins late because of traffic and they didn’t allow me go in. The officer at the door asked me to reschedule my appointment. I have been trying since then and the system isn’t letting me. It keeps saying I am not eligible to reschedule. Same thing for cancellation, and I can’t book a fresh one because the system already has my IRCC number.

I have tried to call the VFS help desk but I can’t get any actual human being. It keeps taking me to the automated message and when I hit the prompt to reschedule or connect to an agent, it goes off. I have sent emails too and no one is answering. Sent a message on Twitter, and they asked me to contact help desk which hasn’t gone well as stated above.

Does anyone know what I should do please?

Hello guys, I'm not in the pool yet or anytime soon but I just want advice. I'm a young man in my early 20's in Lagos. Completed Nysc and got a job. I want to get at least 2 years experience before applying for EE so am looking at the next 3-4 years but due to how competitive and difficult the system is currently, I'm scared that in the future when I want to apply, it might be harder and unattainable.
Maybe I'm overthinking based on how naija is or it's actually a reality.
Just need advice. Thanks
The best time to into the pool is once you are qualified for it. Since you are still a young lad, why not take up an MSc or an added diploma. Since you live in Lagos, I’ll suggest you purse the French diploma at Uni Lag, so you gain two things, French speaking abilities and an added certificate which would increase your scores! Best of the best

Guys quick question will a letter of reference from my stanbic asset mgt be enough as proof of funds or I also need to attach the statement of deposit and liquidation.

Am abit worried cos the letter of reference alone doesnt show when exactly the investment were made and I understand the proof of funds is suppose to between 3 to 6months

Is it possible to apply as self employed without having tax clearance? Or if I must get it now, is there a certain range of tax payment required? Thanks

Thank you.

My application kept getting returned as wrong application. I figured I need to prove I will meet the residency obligation of a minimum of 730 days within the next 5 years; so i added a letter of explanation indicating why I had to travel back and my phone bill.

I think this did the trick as I have gotten a passport request.

Thank you for all you do.

My bank reference letter (POF) was also from Stanbic Asset Mgt. I didn’t put statement with my own but it doesn’t hurt to include it. In my case, what I did was to include an LOE showing a table of sources of funds with supporting attachments.

So my point is go ahead and use Stanbic AM but include an LOE stating that the financial institution doesn’t show average balance on their reference letter and so you’ve attached your statement of deposit as an addendum to aid the officer’s assessment.

Thanks for your feedback, what I mean by statement is the statement of deposit and liqudiation from stanbic money market, I have been using them since 2015, was thinking attaching it could be bulky. You know you can print the transaction statement from stanbic.

I will mention the source of fund as you advised.
