etrange:life is not fair, truth is bitter also. I would not try YouTube myself cos i dont have a very good voice. Maybe animation or AI generated audio/ pictures would be better. 2 Likes |

ednut1: Then you practically projected your own insecurity on him. Life is not fair is not an excuse to be inconsiderate. And your truth is definitely not his truth. He might not have the voice, accent, environment or charisma that appeals to you, but the internet has millions of users, and there are many of us out here willing to overlook these things for good contents. This might be his little beginning and he can always improve in all these regards including his presentation voice. Besides, once this guy horns his presentation skills, his voice wouldn't even be a limitation. Davido doesn't have the best voice, but his musical skills saw him through. Chinedu WAZOBIA is no Trevor Noah, but he's doing great. The Ordinary President of Brekete Family is no Obama, but he's doing just fine. So before you shut down someone because they didn't come out as good as others you already know or because they have a feature that doesn't appeal to you or because they didn't start off being experts from day one, please think it through because Rome was not built in a day, and the world doesn't revolve around your opinion. I've seen enough of your comments on here to know you have the capacity to do that. 4 Likes 1 Share |

etrange:not to derail the thread. YouTube is not for everyone. I never said the world revolves around my opinion. This is how thousands go on xfactor, the voice nigeria and the likes when they clearly have no singing talent 🤣🤣 1 Like |

ednut1: No need to drag this. If you acknowledge that the world doesn't revolve around your opinion, then you invariably acknowledge that you're not in a position to say who YouTube is for and who it's not for. Even in the music industry you made reference to, people have been told they could never become musicians because they didn't have what it takes, and yet they ended up being famous musicians later in life. Even those people who failed in these shows you mentioned are contempted they gave it a shot. If not, they'd forever wonder how things would have turned of they had just tried. If you don't like his content, don't subscribe. It's that that simple. If he does it for some time and no one subscribes, he'd be happy he tried and found out it's not for him. He definitely doesn't need your discouragement, mockery or negative energy in general. And if you find anything lacking in his videos, you could point that out without implying he'd never make it or laughing at his efforts. Did you for a second put yourself in his shoe? That dude is trying something new to see where it might lead him. Imagine going out of your way to research a topic, organize your work, buy data bundle, get your environment ready, get a recorder, and pick up the courage to do a YouTube video, and the first comment is how you wouldn't make it with a laughing emoji. And your excuse is "life is not fair". Does life need your help to stay unfair? You're not a teenager. You could have told him he needed to work on his presentation voice instead mocking him like a primary school student just because you can. The philosophy of "you don't have this particular feature, so you will not make it" is ridiculous because you don't know what other factors he has going on for him. While having a good voice is good for presentation, being a YouTuber goes beyond that. So he could make up in other areas or even improve on his voice. 4 Likes 1 Share |

sonofanarchy: Of course, it's Nairaland where nobody is ever wrong and people always defend whatever they they type even if it was a slip. If this guy was someone that walked into your office and showed you his video, you wouldn't say what you typed up there. But here you are feeling OK with mocking him because it's the internet. I wasn't expecting you to take your words back, just learn to let people start small or try new things without feeling the need to shut them down because you can't do it yourself. 4 Likes |

An adult will drop reasonable criticism and tell him area where he can improve, but you are just here to reduce people bar and mock people. Oboto700: I don't think he does, and that's just an opinion. You have the right to yours. Nevertheless, I still think he's a great musician regardless. And that's the point. |

etrange:Davido is a rough baritenor..to get his tune he has to scream..same thing applied to timi dakolo although timi has a smooth one but whenever he's singing,, for him to hit his notes,,he has to scream too..iam a vocalist 1 Like |

Oboto700: I never doubted you. I said I don't think he has a nice voice. That's my opinion. That his voice could be described in technical terms doesn't mean it would be appealing to everyone. I prefer Timi cause, like you said, his voice is smoother. And I'm sure I'm not the only who have this opinion on Davido's voice. Music is an art, and art is subjective. You're a vocalist, I'm sure you know that. |

First of all I would like to say a very big thanks to you for your comment and I'll definitely take it as a motivation 😄 I'm a student of Unilorin and it's a general doing for all 300L students to choose a particular skill in a course known as “Gse 301 ”, in which I selected “content creation for blog and YouTube”. Our trainer or the lecturer in charge made it mandatory for us to open all social media accounts, especially YouTube and this also lead me into opening a nairaland account as well.🙂 It sounded weird to me at first because I'm not a social media type, I wasn't even on Facebook but now I'm a Facebook user. This made me opened a YouTube account and start creating and posting contents respective of the niche I chose and this is something every student who selected the skill must do as well according to the lecturer instruction I started a week ago and I'm so glad to have achieved something. “no be everybody suppose dey YouTube ” you said 😄; a tree doesn't grow a day, never and this is the reason why everyone must have the ambition to keep growing in whatever he/she is doing. Regardful of all what's needed to start a YouTube channel and here I'm making videos using my phone camera alone, counts. Our trainer also made us know that originality matters which is the reason why I'm not editing my videos for now. Accent or no accent, voice or no voice the most important thing is to get the information. Shout out to all nairalanders who viewed and are viewing my videos, thank you very much. 1 Like |

Hello sir, I would suggest you ignore anyone telling you what you can or can't do. The phone is yours, the channel is yours. You can deal with it as you please. These people are only entitled to their unnecessary opinions. If you allow their negative report to stop you, na you lose. Surprisingly, some of these big-mouthed spitters, have achieved absolutely nothing with their fading existence on earth. They only spread negative vibes everywhere they go. What I'll rather you do is talk to people who are more advanced than you in your niche and have them give you a more constructive review of what you do. Another idea I feel would work well for your niche and topic of interest is to go in the direction of interviews. Book sessions with topical experts in this niche of yours and make your channel more of interviews with them. For example, you can have an outdoor moment with a zoologist and you guys talk about these dangerous animals for about 10 minutes. That way, you'll have more things to discuss and you'll equally build more credibility into your topics. Great job boss. |
