Gbam!

There's a reason why u we have industrial estates littered around Lagos and Ogun state ; Closeness to working seaports.

Agbara in Ogun state has a terrible road network , but na there nestle , Reckitt Benckiser , unilever Nigeria , etc have their factories situated .

Oh really.

Straight from Wikipedia.

Russia (Russian: Россия) is the largest country in the world, covering over 17,125,192 km2 (6,612,074 sq mi), and encompassing more than one-eighth of Earth's inhabited land area
"However, large parts of Russia are uninhabited or uninhabitable because permafrost (soil that remains frozen throughout the year and is unsuitable for agriculture) covers more than 60% of Russia's territory."

Big for nothing. shocked

Most of his talks are mere soundbites with better articulation. That are not really realistic

Lets start from Point 1
The first link about the 4th mainland vs building roads from Epe to Ikorodu and Epe to VI. Anyone who has plied those roads. Can you help me with the distances From Ikorodu to Epe, then Epe to VI. Combine both distances and even use the best case scenario of minimal traffic and see how much miles you need to cover every morning just because you are trying to go around the water body when you can build a bridge over it and shave many KMs. Now consider a 6lane road from Ikorodu to Epe and Epe to VI in realistic traffic and see how soon it becomes a night mare
According to googlemaps the distance between Epe and Ikorodu is 70km and Epe to VI is 60km. I don't know if these are exact but this is over 130km to travel one way. 260km both ways In best traffic and you think this is a realistic solution for daily commuting even without traffic

Watching the 2nd link. There is a reason why People come to Lagos Central (VI Lekki and Ikoyi) to work. That is similar everywhere in the world there is usually a downtown where the economic activity is and people go to downtown to work. In VI companies choose to come to that area because of the synergy with other companies, e.g the head office of many multinationals are located there so banks, consulting companies, and many servicing companies will want to be there vs being located in Badagry or Ojota that is far

3rd link, He talks about world bank benchmark for roads, I hope he is doing this in relation to cities like Lagos, where its as congested and coastal as well. I have seen someone a former Lagos candidate compare Lagos rail with Ethiopia AdisAbaba which is on dry land

Regarding the BRT lanes, Will opening it up not create more congestion on those BRT lanes?

4th link - Is there Iju works in Lagos Island. Talking about wetlands and preservation. We have once again a very small land which normally should house about 2M people housing 20M people. Its cool to say stuffs like preserving certain lands and care about climate change, not when you have 20M with an additional 10K coming in almost every week to live permanently

Anyone who lives in Lagos and face these challenges can rebut any of these.

1st Link - GRV is against the 4th mainland bridge, and considers it a white elephant project for these reasons
- The cost compared to the alternative he's proposing
- The fact that up to 800-1000 houses will be destroyed in the process of creating the 4th mainland bridge
- And the fact that his idea will open up the areas which the roads he plans to build will run across, something the 4th mainland bridge won't do nearly as much.

GRV specifically said the roads will be joined at 6km, so I dunno where you're getting 130KM from...he said the roads will be joined at the shortest distance. Maybe what we should be asking is where exactly he plans to join these roads from, but he's an architect that's done extensive research on Lagos city and knows exactly where he'd join these roads from.

You also didn't mention his plans for local government autonomy, bringing government closer to the people, and helping inner-city roads get much-needed attention.

2nd link - GRV is saying the development is too centralized, thereby creating a centre that's overly chaotic. He's not saying there won't be a city centre where the bulk of the economic activities take place, but by opening up other areas, Lagos will have a city centre that's a little freer and way more effective.

3rd link - I'm sure he knows the peculiarities of Lagos too, GRV is an architect and he's done extensive research on the city, and know's how to benchmark the cost of projects to the peculiarities of the project.

4th link - Lagos is not the densest city in the world, if Manila and other cities with higher population densities than Lagos can provide pipe-borne water to their citizens, I'm sure GRV can deliver pipe-borne water to the people of Lagos.

Look at the map and suggest how that will ease commuting time. And any road would not be traffic free at peak time. 2hrs every morning and evening is hardly a solution to anything
I think you didn't get the point.

First of all I am not advocating for GRV, I only try to see what he is planning.

Secondly, my point was that the long route is not a replacement or even an addition but rather an alternative.

A longer route though inconvenient but offers a less jam of traffic.

I'll rather take a two hour drive home, than spend four hours on a shorter route. Also, it's not like everyone will travel the entire route, some will stop on the way.

frankly bro, I don't give a damn what goes on in America, I'm more concern about what goes in within the shores of this country.

For me, I see many of the Obidient lot as a bunch bitter and jealous individuals. The embody what many of the Nigerian citizens are. Angry, bitter, jealous, weak, narrow minded and sore losers.

This set if people hate anybody who is successful or who they deem a threat to their existence. It's the very reason why many of them have thrown reason and common sense out of the window.

The moment things are going the they they want, they're happy and cool with it, the moment things aren't, they condemn it and shout foul play. We saw this with what happened with Mike Essien

This set of bitter people want to take away our god given free will. Like must I like what you like? Must I eat what you eat? Must I buy what you buy? Must I like who you like? They forget there is something call 'choice' and 'free will'.

It really is a pity.

This one has traded his Choice and freewill for agbado. Obidients live rent free in his head

Obidients will be a good opposition unlike PDP who only love to be in power to loot.

They remind me of Apc pre-2015 just that these ones are doing it for free. They are matching APC lies for lies, propaganda for propaganda,Toxicity for toxicity. The only edge Agbado still has over them is unleashing their bigotry and offline thuggery.

The American Industrial revolution was built on railway building. They sacrificed limb, blood and Chinese slave labour to achieve it. Same with the European Industrial revolution. Even India didn't put the cart before the horse, their railway network is legendary
.
I like studying videos like the below which shows the financiers that built America and their battle over the rail lines

Pull up the google maps yourself and find where the 6KM GRV mentioned will be. The 130Km I referred to was the distance from Baiyeku to Langbasa

For people from Ikorodu to get to Lekki, they either have to go round the water or cross the water in form of a bridge. Going round the water from Ikorodu to Epe to Lekki is 130km as shown on googlemaps, So where is the 6km coming from

This shortest distance will still mean crossing the water and building a bridge, Don't believe what I said, don't believe what GRV said, you pull out the map and show a feasible route from Ikorodu to Lekki and what distance it will be

And claiming GRV is an architect and knows what he is saying is not logical in this instance because he has the motive to misrepresent facts. Its like a defence attorney a SAN is an authority in law and will never misrepresent facts

Or like claiming Wike is a lawyer why would he abuse the law, Ajimobi is an accountant why would he give an unbalanced budget
