Nyesom Wike has described Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi, as the hero of the 2023 presidential election for scuttling the chances of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, thereby preventing North from holding on to power.

Wike, addressing a cluster of Rivers state traders associations Saturday in Port Harcourt, said, “Obi is my hero. If Obi did not contest, power would have gone back to the North. The whole of South-South and South-East that PDP lost if Obi did not contest PDP would have won.”

In 2014 this current deputy governor who was the commissioner for works and the commissioner for physical planning both said the reason the 4th mainland bridge could not be constructed for now is majorly financial issues .

What I don’t now know is if the government has miraculously came about some money between that period and now considering the state has even gone through difficult financial challenges between 2014 to 2023 ( COVID-19 being a major one sef )

Personally I think the whole 4th mainland bridge is a political thing . Until they start the construction of the bridge, I won’t believe they have any plan to construct it
