Your head dey there. E sure me say our waka go don cross unless your era come after our own.

Buy beer cheaply for school or from Kuramo and load it inside car. Enter 1145 or Y-not or Papas. Na there i first meet OSU girls who came all the way from Ogun State for night service.

These were a blessing to the young men in Lagos

Osu and Babcock girls.

Babcock usually needed permission to go out, But OSU, I believe half of the people claiming to be students were just ghosting. OSU girls ready to mingle whether na Monday morning of Wednesday night. They are always available

You're not wrong at all.

OSU took it industrial to the point where boys started leaving Lagos for thr hinterland to go and collect the püssy at the source.

A friend of mine went to do that shït and ended up getting robbed and beaten up by some cult boys out there.

I'm a couple sets below you, but back then I think Babcock were like the premium private uni, so all their girls seemed to be rich, although na packaging las las.

That was standard back then. I even knew a guy whose links were solid in OSU. Once boys were ready everybody will pack into car, sometimes 2or 3 cars sef and head to OSU and this bad boy would connect every single guy with a babe for the weekend.

I think you are right about Babcock. They were the first private Uni to enter the game before dem Covenant and co.

You know Babcock Uni was still new during my time so the girls eye never tear like that and them no too plenty like that until much later. But if they want to mention the first uni girls to monetize pus.sy at tycoon levels the fight go be between UNILAG and OSU. At least in the SW.

I will say UNILAG still dey try to put higher price on their own, but OSU can take anyone from Bank MD to Okada riders

This was in my time o. I dunno if UNILAG changed too

What was the logic behind jacking up import duty?

they wanted to promote the local vehicle industry

maybe get companies to set up assembly plants in nigeria

in objs time - he forced the federal govt apparatus to patronise PAN. once he left that ended immediately
he was also able tp get local generator assembly up by imposing heavy duties on completed generators but waivers on knocked down generators.
unfortunately, na the Lebanese wey corner that market to 80% [jubaili bros gang]

the local assembly plants are more or less for chinese vehilces . there are allegedly some nissan plants , but if they are they are not making much turnover. there are also some chinese trucks - izzou gold circle can give more info on that.

what we ultimately got is innoson and some other companies - selling pickups to the army and customs.

there was a brief splash where some misguided fellow got shell to buy innoson pickups - i remeber reading about it - but as expected, that has fallen apart. if it was a much lower tier company, maybe they could cope with the performance issues . but to go from fully loaded toyota hilux pickups to innoson 4x4s - lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

You are right. It was the politicians and other money bags that priced UNILAG girls out of market that time. Boys then moved on to more accessible markets in OSU.

That time the OG girls were mostly in Moremi Hall while the upcoming girls dey New Hall. At night you will just see an endless line of luxurious cars stopping to pick up girls dressed in the most expensive and flashiest outfits possible. Senators, House of Reps members, LGA chairmen, top bank executives.

Babcock girls were from rich homes, you have to be rich to pay 250k for school fees back then and they were relatively younger. Some of them were actually below 18 and butty. I hung out with some of them and this one her dad worked for Shell and she lived in Shell estate at Warri

OSU took it to a scary level and earned their reputation.

The boys were very rugged too and the girls can screw anything. You only need one girl and you likely will end up fvcking all her friends. The friends would steal your number from their friends phone and call or "flash" you.

A typical conv, After a flash, you call back

Hello you called me

Girl: Oh I just saw your number on my phone and didnt know how

Me: Okay where are you?
Girl: OSU

Me: What are you doing this weekend, Can you make it to Lagos this weekend?

Okay

Send recharge card for transport.

Those days sending pictures were not very common since our mobile network was still in infancy

So you will see the "package" for the first time when you meet

One funny instance happened when the person that showed up be like Eniola Badmus.

I got to the bus stop, where are you? I am by this call center wearing yellow top.

Views that immovable object in yellow and switch off my phone. Head to near beer parlor to pick local ones

wakes up to plenty curses on my phone 12hrs later

My friends come dey laugh me say You for manage am like that. Shey me wey lean like anything and dey manage the small blood wey I get go come carry wetin pass me

Seeing how there has now been flagrant disregard for supreme court judgments, I somehow wonder if it won't get to a state where one day the supreme court will give a judgment against a sitting governor and he will refuse to vacate the office.
For a Governor to do that, He'd definitely need the support of the FG because force is the rawest form of power. So without the Presidency militarily backing him (the governor in question), he'd just end up making himself a clown. At the same time, the Federal Government will not do that as well because it's a recipe for anarchy and the international community pressure will be too much.

So, it is not feasible atleast in my own opinion.

Kuramo was the spot. You go see Cele people praying with people nacking behind them. Na those satchet squaddie 10 or 20 bucks I dey buy sip with my smoke those days until it was time to enter club.
1145 Sega 8 and Kays place to go and dance and flex. Ynot to carry olosho to naxk at the back of KC. It was 1145 that the guy died.

There were a couple other places those periods. Caliente Ikoyi. One other club near dstv like this - Club 10 I think? I think it used to be owned by Pappilo sef. 2004 -2009 was a mad time to party on the island.
True, not to mention the many weekends at Takwa Bay Beach. Na their i meet the only white babe i don nack so far...

Now that you mention it, even if the supreme court rules in favour of PO, BAT may decide to continue in his footsteps and refuse to leave.

Supreme Court is not sacking anybody though.

We have had worse election in Nigeria starting from 1999 and the Supreme court didn't sack the sworn in President during those periods so why will now be different?

The 2007 elections was particularly flawed and the Supreme Court came close to cancelling the election in a 4-3 ruling. That's an election without an official results oh. So, why will the Supreme court sack any sitting President now especially for an election that is generally believed to be 80% accurate minus Rivers and Imo state?

But for the sake of optics and sustaining momentum, it makes sense to challenge election results but trust me nothing is coming out. When I look at the state by state breakdown of the election results, I don't see any outrageous number to warrant suspicion.

People should look at results from starting from 1999, we have had numerous states apart from Lagos and Kano producing 1m+ votes. Where did they get those numbers from?

BKO said there's no Economic sense in the policy and I quite agree.

Both of them right now ( Buhari and Emifiele) are expired products and there should be arrested. Less than 90 days.

The one that is paining me is that sensible people met him including all the APC governors and told him this policy is anti people and will affect the party chances in the presidential election but he was looking at it from the anti corruption and vote buying lenses.

the obj years were the best years. after that there was a steady decline

that is why i will say objs biggest mistake, the one that set us on this path - was picking atiku as his vp

obj had his faults but the man was on a mission to fix nigeria

atiku was supposed to succeed him - but i think it is obvious to everyone that atiku is a self serving prick whose only concern is about his rise to power.

atiku was supposed to consolidate on whatever obj had done. but when it became clear atiku was simply trying to run place coup - obj fked him over and started looking for how to ensue his policies lived on

option1 - 3rd term

that failed

option2 get the most malleable mumus he could find and remote control them from ota. big mistake as yardua reversed so many things, then died and we got gej - who accelerated the decline. then buhari who knows fk all about business and pushes for the most unweildy parts of a socilaist govt

so here we are

maybe just maybe - if obj had picked some other fellow as VP - we would be in a different timeline now one where the prosperity of the early 2000s had been consolidated, one where the injection transformers were not left to rot in our ports, one where nuhu ribadu had stayed on and ensured efcc was a serious organization.

This thread makes me wanna weep because it's absolutely true.

Nigeria fell off hard.
Domestic flight prices were less than 10k. I used to fly my boarding school.

That person who said he was on a salary of 200k and could holiday in the UK was absolutely spot on.
Exchange rate of pounds was below 300. My aunty, my mum's last born was constantly shuttling between both countries, on a mid level bankers salary. Caveat, some were sponsored sha but this still attests to the strength of our economy.

Since then, we have lost soo much purchasing power. APC really failed us hard!! Very hard!
Celebrating PDP years but didn't vote PDP in the last election.

I have never seen this kind of confusion before in my life.

so here we are
OBJ did well but on an average, Yar'adua actually recorded higher average GDP growth than OBJ in the two years that Yar'adua governed for. But we might never know if things might have gotten worse if he didn't die but overall Yar'adua performed better than OBJ so your assertion about steady decline post OBJ tenure is wrong.

I have to agree that there was marginal decline in Nigeria's economic performance during GEJ's tenure but it was not too significant to warrant being described as "accelerated decline". It was just a slow decline and sometimes it picked up again. Incase you didn't notice, the best Buhari's yearly GDP growth is not even high enough as GEJ's poorest yearly GDP growth so that should give you a bit of insight.

Anyway, my point remains that in the fourth republic, Nigeria had her best years under PDP.
